THAT"S AMAZING!! You must be so proud, congratulations!!
Lia Sophie I am, thank you so much for the help
im literally here doing my coursework 😂 rn
Ahha hope its going well! xx
can you do one of these for a level? i've just started and i think it would be really useful xx
Yes sure! I should also be getting my A Level books back soon so I will make a video when I do x
could you do like thigs/tasks you were asked to do or GCSE like course work etc
Yeah we did tasks we were asked to do by our teacher, but we also had lots of freedom to do our own things if we wanted to x
You explained everything in this video so so good and it was so helpful, thank you ❣️
Needed this tbh💗
Awwh I'm so glad you liked it! xx
Been waiting for this
my topic right now is decay and i haaaaate it
Awwwh no! Decay is such a cool theme try and find something you love and roll with it! x
Lia Sophie i’m at the end of it now n just starting my final piece, i’m so looking forward to finishing this topic ahah. honestly i think it’s not a bad topic, just the way my teacher did it, like it’s so controlled and we can’t like branch out and focus on less convenient ideas within it
**conventional
Loved this video! I’m in my second year of gcse art and I really struggle with page designing. Any tips? X
Thank you! If you would like some visual inspiration I have made videos on all of my GCSE art books where I show every single page! I normally do a background in watercolour but I change up how I present drawings and writing quite a lot x
this video was actually very inspirational. time to do a full acrylic painting for the first time in year 10... yay
Hey quick question I’m thinking of doing art but I feel as though I’m not going to do well like I can’t paint faces or draw them I’m really nervous I’ve read so many things saying people regret art. Is it difficult to balance art with other revision topics?
Yh very xc
It can be tricky at times to get a balance as art is very time-consuming. For me it was an easy decision as I have always been passionate about drawing and painting so it would've felt wrong to not take it. If it's a subject that you really enjoy I think you should go for it! Maybe you could create a timetable so you allow time for your other subjects too x
hey im choosing my options rn and im in the same situation. did u end up choosing art?
@@jxmah4112 unfortunately not sorry
In my school we don't do sketchbooks and can pick whichever themes we want. We mainly focus on doing like these boards. I don’t want to pick something too strict so do you think that the theme ‘amusement’ is good? Please help me as my deadline for picking the theme isn’t that far away!!! Thankyou 💗
That sounds like a really good theme and very creative! xx
@@LiaSophie thankyou for hearting and replying it is much appreciated 🥰
Thankyou soo much this was so helpful❤️❤️I’ve just started year 9 (we do preparation year for gcse) Your art inspires me so much,, thank you Xoxo
Awwh thats so sweet thank you so much! Glad you enjoyed the video xx
Could you possibly make a video about how to balance your time with your other subjects? I’m rly struggling!! Love ur video btw!!!! Xxxxx
Thanks so much!! And yeah course, I've just planned a video to film soon and will definitely answer your question in that xxx
Lia Sophie thank you so much!! Xxx
@@milliemoo4925 The video is up now! It's called '10 things I wish I knew before GCSE art' but in the second half I make a point about how I managed my time, hope this helps! xx
wow! fab books. 😉
Hi , I’m in year 11 and I just started my theme “identity” and I’m panicking because I’ve done like 3 pieces of work , is there anyway I can still get a 7 or hopefully an 8
I had that theme too! Don’t panic I’m sure there’s time to turn it around. Try and do a few more pages and make sure you’ve got some artists analysis in there and showed the development of your final piece but make sure not to rush anything as quality is more important than quantity! X
The annoying thing is my teacher doesn’t give my class that much freedom so I end up not enjoying it as I don’t get to draw what I want 😭🤦🏿♀️
Awwh that sucks! Still do what you want outside of school for fun! X
Thanx for this video. It was really helpful.
Can you do like this video for other subjects. Example geography, maths and others you took for gcses.
Yes of course! x
@@LiaSophie
Thank you
Hello Lia, again. When you copy a picture and enlarge it do you scale up using a grid system - or do you do it all by eye please? Keen to learn, even at 64! Thanks for yr attention.
A bit of both really! Sometimes I will start with a grid to get a rough layout, but I tend to use eye mostly!
Literally starting gcse art in september xx
Hope it goes well!! x
I am just picking my GCSE I want to do French geography art and textiles however people have said there are so many deadlines and coursework for art and textiles people have said I should not do both textiles and art any thoughts?
Those are exactly the same GCSEs I did!! I was also told it would be hard to juggle and it definitely was difficult at times, but you just need to stay on top of all your work and don't let yourself slip behind and you'll be fine! It only really got stressful around deadlines x
8:25 - on drawing from direct observation - how do examiners know you did this and that you weren't working from photographs? I find it loads easier to work from photos (my own), than from direct observation. I'm not proud of this btw!! Lel.
Hiya, I'm exactly the same as you and I really didn't enjoy doing direct observation as I found it so difficult! I guess the examiner wouldn't be able to be sure if you used photographs or not but I always state if i have done a piece from direct observation. You don't need to show a lot of this, the majority of the time working from photos is absolutely fine- especially as you say you use your own which is amazing! But I would suggest even having just a double page of drawing from direct observation just to show you can do it and you could always make them more abstract on purpose if you are worried about proportions etc.
Thanks for the reply! ; - )
