The brothers didn't write it it was a French song in the 1950s they made there own , but I know what you mean truly outstanding vocals only song that's ever brought a tear to my eyes
Only God could make this perfect pairing. As siblings they have everything that others do not. One the perfect lead, the other perfect harmony. The tones and quality of their voices match...even their accents and speech patterns. It was a shame to see them shoved out (with many other wonderful American talents) by mere knock offs who never touched their perfect harmony. "Paul" admitted copying them was their aim...but not at first. Still nobody has ever even come close. God bless them, and Phil may you rest in peace.
Only the marvelous iconic Everly Brothers and their awesome harmony that no one else could do as great as they could. Miss those days and their performing. RIP Phil.
Oh my, what can I say? I 🧡 The Everly Brothers. Such beautiful harmony and balance. Phil and Don a gift for the World to enjoy. These Gentlemen had what it took to sing without artificia gimmicks. Be blessed Don and RIHeaven Phil 😇
@@williamjburns2560 So sad. Those brothers were soulmates, despite all their differences in later life. Very difficult to carry on without the person who completes you.💙💚💕
I recently heard an interview with the Everly brothers ,...if they had ever met Elvis Presley,.....they did meet him on a few occasions ....and they for whatever reason didn't like him .....but they adored Jonny Cash ,Buddy Holly , Warren Zevon . and just about every British Rocker .....but they.... and us adored them......
Love ❤ the song and how it is sung , however , the everly brothers deserved to be listened to without all that dreadful screaming ! .... what wonderful singers they were , so sad that we will never see their like again .
They sang so beautifully that it melted my heart!! Absolutely stunning voices. I wept as I listened! It's just difficult to put into words. They should have let them sing the entire song!
In my opinion, this is the best song they ever sung. It is mine and my husband's song. It got better every year they sung it. RIP Don and Phil, will always love you and your music.
Love the Everly's. I got to sit in Phils dressing room and chat, after a concert I attended. I had given them a portrait I painted of them, they signed an old album for me. what a thrill!
I loved them from the first instant I heard their beautiful voices and heavenly harmony. I was only 11 yrs old. Since Phil was the shy one and so was I, I decided we should get married some day. I'm in my 70ties now, and still love their music more than any other. Phil, may you rest in Holy Peace with Jesus. Don, May God keep you healthy.
Beautiful song by the best harmony singers ever. Just one thing spoils it - silly screaming girls. I was a girl of 17 in 1963 when I saw them on the UK concert tour. I thought then - why on earth at the stupid girls screaming, I came to see and hear the Everly Brothers - not listen to screaming.
I know what you mean. To have screamed when The Everly Brothers were singing was almost the aural equivalent of vandalism. Imagine if those same screaming girls had traveled en masse to Rome and shot spray paint over the ceiling of the Sistine Chapel, or some other such visual affront. And yet some tolerate others making noise when musicians and singers are making beautiful music. Of course it is permissible to applaud when a performer has just finished playing and/or singing a song. But to interrupt an actual musical performance with unwelcome noise is just rude. I could understand interrupting some pretense of music (by the likes of acts such as Lady Gaga and Kanye West, etc.; in fact, when creatures such as they perform, interruption should be mandatory), but not when genuine music and singing (such as by The Everly Brothers) is being performed.
I am guilty of screaming at a Beatles concert when I was 14 yrs. old!! It was because I was so in love with Paul and seeing him in person was more than my teenage heart could bear!! I'm sure those screaming girls felt the same way about whichever one, Phil or Don that they were in love with! It's a teenage girl thing.
0:28 It seems that's the moment that Phil realized they sang the lyrics incorrectly a few seconds before. But still a beautiful rendition of that song. Still my favorite from them. May they both rest in peace, and thanks for the music that made our lives.
The original gold standard of harmony, style, class and stage presence, still, decades later. Stunning.
I wish I could get a flight back to the 60,s
Great idea
Yes that would be magic
Let's Do it. I hope this will be possible in the next short future. We start now
Yes I will also want a ticket on that train one way!!!.... ❤️❤️💜💜💜❤️❤️❤️❤️💯🤟💎🥇✨
Me to
Those were the time teen idols can actually sing
YES! EXACTLY!!!
One of the most beautiful songs sang by two of the greatest singers.
To be fair that is absolute gold that will never be seen again
Harmonies of the like we will not witness again, perfection doesn’t do them justice.
Phil lights up the room when he smiles!
hope harvell he had a pretty smile
Indeed he did!!
Best song ever written. The Everly's had no equal.
SURELY

When you can't distinguish one voice from the other that's harmony
No glitter no special effects , just real talent and genuine hearts. The Everly Brothers put to music who they really were.
Oh My Gosh!! so beautiful. Gorgeous boys with voices of Angles.
Hello from Berlin, Germany, i wanted to marry them both but all i can do is dream dream :-)
When a song transforms our emotions into harmony, it becomes part of nature. Simple, genuine and so incredibly beautiful. Thank you, Don and Phil.

Everyone that loves someone should sing or at least recite these words to the one they love- it would forever seal the deal.

Leave it to me to be the clown...🤡 I wonder what the girl yelled out @:27 🤔
Got them both smiling for sure.🎼🖤
I have wondered the same thing!! I tried turning up the volume to see if I could hear what it was, but I was not able to make it out.
Well, the video from their reunion concert is nice but this is the one you want!
Me encanta esta canción. Recuerdo cuando la escuche por primera vez en Quantum Leap.
