Hiker lost in Hawaii forest for 17 days reflects on her rescue 5 years later

Lost for 17 days in a Hawaii forest reserve, most of it with a broken leg and burns to her feet so severe they almost required amputation, Amanda Eller held out hope someone was coming to rescue her.
Now, five years after her dramatic rescue from Maui's Makawao Forest Reserve, Eller told ABC News she's continuing to heal from what was a traumatic, life-changing experience.

This portland analysis is annoying. Measure 110 was a state measure that was passed by voters. Portland city council didn’t come up with it, nor could they effectively implement it given how the state wasn’t implementing it well. Second, the fiefdom stuff is because the structure of the city council was archaic and they recently passed a measure to restructure it to be more coherent. And Matt Schmidt Isn’t responsible for measure 110. He also was asked to start as SA months before he was supposed to because the incumbent quit suddenly. This just happened to be in 2020 during the protests. So he had no staff or infrastructure to take on that chaos, and the city has a public defender shortage.
Look, I’m not stoked about how portland has gotten, but it’s just more complicated than this makes it sound.
