Google and Microsoft are the two biggest names in the tech space right now, so it's not surprising that users are always comparing their cloud storage services.
In this video, we’re going to finally squash the debate between Onedrive and Google Drive and crown the ultimate winner! We’ll compare both services in terms of features, performance, security, and prices of each cloud service.
Who will come out on top in this showdown? Watch this video to find out.
Onedrive has a lot of amazing features like its incredible syncing feature.
Onedrive automatically uploads every file on your computer to the cloud, and if you use OneDrive on multiple devices, every change you make on every file will automatically sync across every device.
This means you can access your content on all your devices remotely without having them with you, which is pretty cool. Similarly, File On-Demand and Personal Vault are also great Features.
On the other hand, Google Drive certainly stacks up with One Drive when we look at its features and functionality.
One of its great features is the ease with which you can share files between people. You can share folders and files with other collaborators with email invites or regular links.
The Team Drive also gives you customized spaces for colleagues to collaborate on different files and folders.
It's also worth noting that popular Google products like Docs, Sheets, Slides and other presentation apps are neatly integrated into this cloud storage service.
As such, you can create and access files without any difficulty. They are all refined, slick apps that easily match their rivals.
Watch the video for more details.
Also, do share your opinion! Do you prefer Onedrive or Google Drive? Let us know in the comments.

OneDrive has messed me up more times than I can say! Syncing with several devices has made a literal chaotic jumble that unraveling the mess is a nightmare. I end up with Documents/Documents/Documents - Pictures/Pictures, duplicates of everything. Two camera rolls, etc. Also, collections create duplicates, then you try making albums...in short, organizing is a headache, and I've lost many folders and files depending on which device
I'm using, and if I make changes from my PC or online. My internet bites and in my wooded area cannot be online like the rest of the free world. No high speed internet, and I'm on a metered, slow network.

OneDrive's zip download speed sucks basically. You try to download some files and folder and it creates a zip which would take million years to download even if you got 1 GBPS internet speed. Google handles this way better. That's why despite being a 365 user I have to share files with people via Google Drive and not OneDrive. Wish Microsoft would look into this

One drive really screwed up the desk-top of one of my PCs without my knowledge or approval. Somehow, it copied a desktop from a windows 10 PC onto a Windows 11 PC, complete with shortcuts to files and Apps which didn't work and weren't even on the other PC. It took me ages to sort that one out.

One drive has just messy smartphone apps. No possibility to classify the photos. Just a timeline. Even clean-up feature doesn't work on my android phone. The UX is awfull. Reallyvsurprising weak performance. You can't use the photos afterwards to create something actually. It's a pure storage, not a system. Except good security reputation and low price foe complete package with office 364 it has no advantage.

I want to turn off all automatic featurres of ONE DRIVE and use it as a remote logical drive that I can manually move or copy files to from my physical hard drives on my desktop using FILE EXPLORER in Win 10. I am having trouble turning off the auto synch features and have found that there is a hidden directory on my desktop hard drive that contains a copy of everything I have stored on the Cloud Onedrive. This is using up way too much disk space on my desktop Logical C drive. You may be wondering why I am doing this and the reason is that I have two physical hard drives on my desktop and a total of eight Logical hard drives. This is to help organize all my files going back 20 years etc.. So you see, I really just want a remote logical drive for backup of my files to be copied only manually.

@@theyetti90 Microsoft only let's you backup Desktop, Docuemtns & Pictuires folders only. All other cloud providers has an option called "Add Folder". Although you can backup any folder's on OneDrive but you have to change the file path of the original folder to OneDrive. It shoudn't be this difficult .

    • @plamenstefanov5462
      @plamenstefanov5462 Před rokem

@@armadxc you are right. Onedrive is basically sharing the folder in itself with your PC, but is not backing up folders from the PC, while Gdrive allows both. But there is an easy solution. Open onedrive from the PC, not via browser, drag a folder from the PC and drop it in the drive folder. It will be synced in a while. Work in that folder. When you want to stop the back up, just drag the folder and drop it out anywhere on your PC, and the folder is moving fast as a folder between internal directories of your PC. That's the way you can achieve the same result as with Gdrive.
As a lawyer I work mainly with documents and I need them safe whatever happens with my PC. I started using Onedrive because it's 50% cheaper in my country and the email is not taking space in the drive.

OneDrive's Files-On-Demand sucks. it will always take a long time for any large files that has to be downloaded first.

I'll take Box or Mega over both. It's called simplicity and non-interference. I need clouds to stash stuff including backups. No need for collaboration. No need for integration. No need for continuous fractional backups. No need for the problems & headaches One Drive causes. The Google security is not trustworthy. Simple decision.

This whole video seems biased towards 365 (especially the security section): it's full of untrue statements in favor for MSFT. But both respect security the exact SAME WAY. NO DIFFERENCE!
The prism argument is MOOT.. since NSA claims to have access to many big player, not only apple and google. Microsoft too is to be suspected. (if you read the article correctly you would know that it's NOT ONLY google and Apple.) Secondly there is no PROOF from NSA, for the "claim". Also if the law requires companies to hand it over, they MUST give it. FOR ALL COMPANIES having data in the USA.
Luckely EU residents don't have to fear for the USA agencies, since those agencies are by multiple LAWS (e.g. GDPR), forbidden to snoop into data from those residents, since the providers MUST store the EU residents data in EU physical locations. (Including Google, Apple and Microsoft)
