What a crappy review. Comparing the free tear of those services cannot be called the Ultimate Showdown. You are just trying to make people click your Google Drive affiliate link. That's ridiculous.

Is disappointing, you decided to only compare the free versions. Practically makes this video useless for a lot of other users.

since the switch from GSuite to Workspace, there is no longer a tariff with unlimited storage space at Google. As a result, many photographers and videographers are dependent on Dropbox Advanced (3x18€)...

Google drive takes so much time to open or upload things! Dropbox let you see preview of zip files

Do not use dropbox if you wanna store personal photos, I remember when I was like 11 I uploaded family trip photos and videos with me and my sister, why did I upload them? I don't know I was 11. But the thing is when I came back to look at them years later when I was 17, there were comments from weirdos, I deleted all the photos immediately. Turns out the photos were on public the whole time and I didnt even know .

Perhaps this is silly, but I consider switching to Google right now, because DropBox has sooooooo many items in the right-click meny for files and folders. I asked support if this could be tweaked (WinRar does let you select what goes there), and I'm told that its not. Google keeps everything under item that expands to more options, right?

unfortunately, the support of "shared drives" under iOS has been solved very poorly by Google. Even the Gmail app can't add files from there as attachments to InApp, because the Drive app can only show "my drive" in Files, so the only way around is via "share" from the Drive app or a third party like File Browser by Stratospherix

It seems it's not possible anymore to use any cloud service with an external drive on a Mac. Is it true?

Google don't synch files with special characters, while dropbox synch regardless of filenames.

I think the beat proprietary cloud storage are Dropbox, MEGA and Dropbox.
All can be use on desktop and mobile to sync files. But on mobile is not stored on local while on desktop yes.
Free Dropbox is 2 GB, Drive 15 GB and MEGA 20 GB.
I use Dropbox because has a lot of compatibility with OS'.

I’m very interested in switching from DropBox to Google Drive. The user friendliness is what’s pulling me in.
My hesitance is transferring from DropBox to Google Drive. I don’t know how and am scarred of losing files.

Dropbox is better in many areas, the block-based synchronisation alone is a huge difference to Google.
But Dropbox is too expensive and doesn't have an offer that is probably sufficient for most users, something around 100-200 GB for less money, so it's not interesting for me. I have 100GB with Google and it all works perfectly. However, if Dropbox had something similar, e.g. 200GB for 3€ per month, I would probably switch back to Dropbox.
