Princess Anne’s emotional and historic moment beside the Queen’s coffin

- Princess Anne made history by becoming the first royal woman to take part in the 'Vigil of the Princes' as she joined her brothers to stand guard over their mother's coffin.
The 72-year-old was dressed in her military uniform for the historic moment at St Giles Cathedral in Edinburgh beside her three brothers King Charles III, Prince Andrew and Prince Edward.
She deserves the honor to stand vigil at vigil of Princes, she has more than earned it.
She hasn't earned it. They have earned HER. She's rock solid and the real deal.
Shame they let Andrew stand vigil that disgusting rat. Disgraced her in life and now in death makes a mockery of her funeral procession.

What an honor it must be for her majesty to have such a resilient daughter as Princess Anne.
Anne is the most deserving of the crown.
Seriously..
It is very obvious looking at princess Anne that is heartbroken. She and her mother were very close. Her mother respected her hard work and dedication. She was very much like her mother QE 2.
Oh Anne, she is her mother's daughter in every way. Composed, honourable, and her strength is next to none. She has done her late mother proud and is a credit to our nation. R.I.P Your Majesty, thank you for your service and duty to our country. 🕊
My Heart aches for Anne. I lost my mom in Jan. And it still hurts my heart. Losing your mom never stops hurting, you just get used to the pain.

Exactlly. Thank you so much for putting it in perspective and helping those, including myself, who got sidetracked by a few hecklers. I'm flawed as any human, more than others, less than a few. thanks again.
I agree. She seems to be the strongest of the children! And loyal to her core. She’s never been given enough credit for honoring her mother in everything she does. She looks stern but that’s her character. No time for nonsense. She has always worked harder than her siblings. God bless her. It’s nice to see her a bit vulnerable. God bless the queens family. She did a magnificent job as the queen’s daughter. Her mother was very proud of Anne, with good reason.
Princess Anne has never wavered being loyal to her mother and Queen. If there is a scaled down Monarchy, Princess Anne deserves to be at the top of the A-list. She has earned it. Princess Anne is the great herself.
She is one of the few royals who hasn't had a lot of scandals attached to her.
Minus the divorce of course
I cannot agree more and always there when needed by either parent..especially for Prince William and Harry THOROUGHOUT their lives and especially when they lost their mum..She is a kind.loving.respectful, most trusted HRH Princess with Dignity and Class..She is her Parents Daughter in everyway.
Yes. I highly doubt that King Charles would remove Princess Anne in a scaled down Monarchy because of her decades of devotion to the Queen and to the British people. I'm quite certain the King spoke with his mother on these issues prior to her death. Just as it was the Queen's wish that Camilla be Queen Consort instead of Princess Consort (the Queen's devoted husband was Prince Consort) to recognize Camilla's devotion to duty despite all the drama decades ago, I would be quite certain that the same would have been said about Princess Anne and that she would continue to do her duties.
@@zurzakne-etra7069 divorce isn't a scandal it's every day life

Unfortunately my own mother decided that her family was not as important to her as as being another mans mistress and left us when I was 5 years old...
But, at 58 years old, I am grieving the loss of my queen as if I had lost a mother...

I know. I can't believe they still took him over her. He's a complete disappointment and bad example for a King. They change the rules all the time so they could have made her Queen. And Charles'..... .another sick story!
Princess Anne has always been my favorite of the Queen's four children. I met her when I was only ten years old, and she was so kind to me. I couldn't help but notice how Princess Anne was not only at Balmoral with her mother prior to her passing, but was she was also there afterwards for every stage of the late Queen's journey back to London, at every stop, without fail, ever the dutiful daughter.
Yes you are correct she looked exhausted
@@dannyscarello6196: We send our sincere condolences. “Well done, thou good and faithful servant.” Take your rest in Heavenly Peace.
One thing I will say about Princess Anne is that she led a very private and dignified life and went on with her duties and charitable work without drawing attention to herself or her family. She was a daughter that her beloved Mother, Queen Elizabeth could be truly proud. Our Queen will be truly missed. 😥💔
Well said.
I also like the fact that she is like her father too, and doesn't suffer fools gladly.
When I read this comments I realise how short lived are the memories of people. Princess Anne was the first one to shock the monarchy by divorcing in 1992 (and it was strongly suggested that she was having some kind of affair at the point with her current husband). I mean, fine for me, I don't think it's a dishonor but if they have searched her figurative dirty laundry as they did with Charles at the point, they would have produced some bad press. It's ridiculous to think that they are not people and they have their strengths and struggles as everyone. And if you are passing some kind of title as an inheritance you cannot expect consistency in the moral character of the person getting it.
Princess Anne would have made an incredible Queen.
Huge respect to all the children for keeping vigil by their mother's coffin during such a difficult time.
If only the rule of succession had been changed before her birth she would've been 2nd in line after Charles before his children, and 8th in line after Harry's children
@@epicshadowdemon1211 not that it matters, Charles is still king and all of his descendants first horns are male.

I don't care if you are a King, a Princess, a shop-worker, or a homeless woman - your mother is your mother and the grief at her death is as deep as anyone else's. But having to live through that grief always in the public eye must make it twice as difficult. Everyone acted with such grace and dignity, just as the Queen did all her life. As difficult as it must have been to stand vigil over her coffin, all of her children were a credit to her. They've lost both their parents in a little over a year. RIP Queen Elizabeth II - I watched your coronation when I was a child and grew up all through your reign. I am so grateful for that.

Hi Diana how are you doing today.
Princess Anne has earned her right to stand with her brothers at this vigil, more so than Andrew for sure. She has worked tirelessly and diligently to represent her mother, the Queen and the Crown her entire life. I think she is regarded as one of the hardest working Royals, even though many don't really hear about her.
Andrew was supposed to be stripped of his title and his military badges but he is still wearing them. He got off so easy. His mom paid the woman off. I don't like seeing him on tv he should be watching the funeral from prison. Charles will probably now give him his title back.

I really wasn't fond of Princess Anne until years ago when I found out how much she was involved in her charities that she represents. She was the president of Save the Children since the 70's and since 2017 has been the Royal Patron. She also has been President of World Horse Welfare since 1994 and a couple of years ago she adopted a horse that nobody wanted. What really made me a fan was when Trump visited and the Queen looking for some help talking to Trump asked Anne to come over so she could introduce her and she said no I ok right here. I always thought she was stiff and not pleasant but the interview she did when she turned 70 really showed how she was in step with the world and how kind she is. I have never seen her shed a tear so we know that the death of her Mother has really reivited her and the rest of the family. At the end of Her Majesty the Queen's life she relied on Anne to be with her from Balmoral to Buckingham Palace. Seems the women are the ones mothers turn to make sure things are done as they wished. Three cheers to Princess Anne.

Especially when you’re younger they’re always there to help, even if it’s through a phone call. Losing them at a young age would leave a gaping hole that was never filled to begin with.
Meanwhile, losing a parent when you’re older does mean you got time to understand each other and become friends. It hurts that this person who has been with you your entire life, through dozens of not hundreds of situations with you, is no longer there and since you’re older you also probably have children of your own to be the tough ones for.
Pitting one against the other isn’t really appropriate
@@Cal90208 I didn't intend to pit anyone against another. It was a personal observation. Sorry if it caused offence.
Everytime I see Princess Anne in her full military regalia, rank, sash and medals, she inspires loyalty of a leader. I would follow her into battle. She holds herself as a leader.
I admire and respect Princess Anne as a person and leader (and think she would have made an excellent Queen) but I also do not think she should be wearing military uniform, as she didn't serve in the forces. Her many military titles are all honorary ones. As a veteran myself, I just don't think it's quite right that someone who never actually served is allowed to wear full military regalia, sash and medals at formal events.
@@chriskelly9476 I was sure she served like her brothers and parents, seems Princess Anne didn't. I understand where you are comming from, yet I think there is a place for a royal as a figurehead and symbol.
@@trespire absolutely, and she does a good job as a figurehead, but you can be a military figurehead without wearing uniform. The US President is their military's Commander-in-Chief but if he has not served, he is not entitled to wear uniform. A suit with appropriate regalia and insignia should suffice, I would have thought. But that's just my personal opinion, maybe I'm a bit biased.
She inspires greatness in othets.
I have followed & watched a Princess Anne over the years & thru all the scandals. She seems very much like her mother - gracious, proud to be of service while quietly attending duties. The British people must be so proud - both the Queen and her daughter show what devotion looks like. 💕
Hi 👋 how are you doing?
Touching video. I have a lot of respect for Princess Anne.
RIP our dear Queen. 🇬🇧
Princess Anne is one of my favorite royals. She deserves the honor of taking part in the vigil and accompanying her mother on her funeral trip. Her grief was touching and made me cry.
Thank you for this... All four children looked grief stricken..No matter how old you are, or no matter how old your mother ..it still hurts..Beautiful solumn vigil... absolutely beautiful.
Reality is the spouse usually dies within 2 years of each other! First their dad & then their mom within 1 year! The longer you have them the harder it is to live without them!!
of course it still hurts, mostly it hurts more...
@jerhkdra I agree. But it was his mother. He should be bowing his head in shame.
@jerhkdra It’s his mother! Of course he has that right.
women coveting men's roles?
You can see the deep sorrow they feel. They are truly heartbroken. God bless Princess Anne.
Princess Anne has done her Mother proud, she has not left her side since she passed away, thank you 😊
She is brilliant..thank you Princess Anne for your service to your country and the commonwealth..it's very difficult for the royal family to show emotion to the public..but you can see the love and respect they all have for their mother the Queen..and for their beloved granny. May the Queen rest now.
She's actually part of my family and I can't believe she died:(😭😭😭😭😢😢😢😢😔😔😔😟😟😓😓
😪💔🇺🇸🇬🇧
No matter how old you are when a parent dies, it is a heartbreaking time in one’s life! Rest In Peace Queen Elizabeth 💕. Long live the King
Queen Elizabeth was an extraordinary woman. We will never see the likes of her ever again. Rest in Peace Queen Elizabeth.
She is so much like her mother Huge respect for Princess Anne 😊❤
Heartbreaking to see each of her children at the vigil deep in their own thoughts and memories of their mother HMTQ. The Princess Royal is an example of what true passion and quite devotion is about. She is my hero.

It is indeed. Having lost mine recently, I can empathize with Princess Anne.
I feel for Princess Anne, after the Queen she was my favourite. My heart goes out to her....xxxx
They all truly love their mother. May she rest in peace and may her children find comfort in the Lord.
I really admire princess Anne she’s been amazing at this sad time. Very dignified
My heart is broken for Princess Anne. She is a lot like her mother in many ways, true...devoted....dedicated to service. It is never easy for a daughter to lose their mother. Princess Anne cannot hide her pain for this one. My deepest condolences Princess Anne.
what service ?

“It is never easy for a daughter to lose their Mother” - So you’re saying Men just get on with it? What a ridiculous, biased comment. You think Anne’s siblings aren’t feeling any pain? You stupid Woman.
@@appletrader888 what about stop being lazy and start watching the endless tributes that people have been giving to the Queen everywhere before you questioned the Queen's 70 years of service?

Beautiful video honouring not only Queen Elizabeth, but Princess Anne. Her relentless devotion doesn't get enough recognition nor praises.

I can feel their pain from here. They're really hurting. But they have been so dignified throughout this process.
The grief on HRH Princess Anne's face is love personified. God bless you, Princess Roy
I admire them for being so composed during this time of grief.
