Rope Canyon Trail is a super fun hike, located right next door to Ladder Canyon Hike in Mecca, CA. Rope Canyon Trail is a short, yet exciting hike that features ladders, slot canyons, and at least 4 fixed rope climbs with the highest being 20ft vertical walls. This trail is NOT for beginners. However, if you are up for the challenge, it is a fun hike all on its own or in addition to the Ladder Canyon and Painted Canyon trail.

Only problem is trailhead thieves. Don't trust ropes that have been there how long?

Yea we have unfortunately heard about the thieves. We will very rarely put our full our full weight on ropes out in the wild. Thats how accidents happen usually.

It didnt seem to struggle with me at 180, but you always need to be careful with random outside ropes. We downclimbed all of the ropes so that we could at least inspect the tops of them as well as the anchors. You might want to try that as well!
