    Seems more like this should be titled, “how forge your own allow to make a heavy duty drill press frame and use a teeny cordless drill motor with it”, haha. I feel like the main part of this video would be the downfall of the drill press from it being underpowered. Very interesting vid though! Would love to just have the freedom to tinker away all day building things and not have to worry about anything else in life. :)

    Why there is no mention of how to supply electric power for the unit. That's the major thing about reviving a cordless drill usage.

    Bom trabalho. Só faltam uns rasgos laterais na zona do motor, para o ar circular e refrigerar.

    Yup, before you throw away your old drill, spend $10,000 on a CNC lathe and make something cool...

    Either I'm stupid & or blind, or maybe just blinked at the wrong time, but there is no image of the completed project. I would very much like to see this completed so as to see what it looks like!

    CLICK BAIT. Why on earth would you use a cordless drill motor to make a gutless 18 volt pillar drill.You can buy a new 240v one for less than £100. The time and materials must have cost more than that.Waste of time, that's 15 minutes i'll never get back.

      @mgtworld Před 2 lety +1

      if you buy everything new why do you need a drill column , buy everything already pre drilled 🤔 plus a 100$ one does not have ball bearing tracks so it wobbles like sh#t

      You could clearly tell it was using a high amount of fabrication from 2 min in. The remaining 13 minutes is on you.

      @@mgtworld I bought a $ 60 dollars, 5 speed bench drill press, 8" swing and 2" stroke. And I knew I would have problems with it, it was to expect from that price! The lesson here: There was no a single one, from main stores that will worth its weight in salt. The only reason that a drill press is needed is for precision drilling and ironically no a single has precision included on any of their parts. Even more expensive in the size range were just garbage as this. So I went with less money for the same amount of garbage! That is another project to improve and refurbish to my long list!

      You would be surprised with those new dc motors... I still have my Ryobi blue and yellow and with it I drilled through a leaf spring from a half ton pickups when rebuilding a rear suspension. It took 3 good drill bits and one (still going) cordless drill!
