I haven’t installed my CB in my new truck for the same reason, I have a 23 XL regular cab and I think I’ll probably end up doing the same setup

I knew there was at least one other person out there with the same predicament. Glad I could help ya out.

    What about a vent hanger?

Sure a vent hanger would work too. But I prefer a more permanent solution. To each there own though, brother. Thanks!

Where did you mount the antennas and do they have to have a certain amount of separation to not interfere with each other.

Thanks for asking. I don’t think there is a minimum distance of separation between antennas to prevent interference. Each system (CB and GMRS) operate in different frequency ranges. So one cannot pickup signals from the other. Is random induction possible? Sure. But I have my CB antenna 2 inches away from the Ford radio antenna and there is no interference between the two.
For the CB antenna, I used the Procomm “front hood antenna mount”, for a Firestik antenna on my passenger side. It’s a driver side mount but it can be used on the passenger side, just in a different spot.
For the GMRS antenna, I used the Midland MXTA38 “adhesive metallic mount” for the magnetic antenna that came with the MXT275 radio. I placed the adhesive mount on the roof just in front of the 3rd brake light. Plenty of space between the sunroof and the edge.
But I took my truck through the car wash recently…I removed the CB antenna but forgot about my GMRS antenna on the roof lol. So I don’t have a GMRS antenna anymore lol. Not sure yet if I’m going to get another magnetic antenna or use a different mounting method. I hope that helps.

You don't have a trailer brake controller either.

Nope. Good eye. I ordered that after buying the truck. It took about 6 months to arrive, but it’s on there now.
