Teya Dora is a Berklee graduate! Also, Ramonda is a flower that’s known as “phoenix” amongst the flowers because it can survive extreme drought and needs only a drop of water to “rise from the ashes” again. It is also a symbol of peace in World War I in Serbia 🌸💜 Teya do pobede! 🇷🇸

  • @ReginaCROxx
    @ReginaCROxx Před 29 dny +85

Here is the meaning if you’re interested.
    1. Ramonda is a very rare purple flower that grows on Mount Rtanj in Serbia and is known as the “Phoenix flower”. It can survive in harsh environments and can “revive” itself after dehydrating with only a drop of water. It was used as a symbol of the Serbian people in WW1 during which Serbia lost 1/4 of its population.
    2. There are several lines in the lyrics that reference the famous exodus of the Serbian people (along with the king and army) who travelled by foot over Montenegrin and Albanian mountains to Greece in the harsh winter of 1915. Around 240.000 people died on the journey and were buried at sea off the coast of a Greek Island in what is known as “The Blue Tomb” or “the watery grave”. The line “there, under the water, everything is dead silent” is a reference to that. Furthermore, another line states “there’s nobody left to guide me towards the morning star”. The Danica star/ the morning star is a staple symbol in Serbian mythology and it symbolizes returning home. In the song it shows the utter desperation and uncertainty whether our people would survive or return. Then you have “The world burns, every flower dies, where have the purple Ramondas vanished” = where have all the Serbs gone? The song ends with “A single purple Ramonda rises from the ashes” symbolizing hope and just like the Ramonda flower resurrects, so do the Serbian people.
The lyrics are written in a way where there are clear references to historical events, while also leaving room for a more personal and individual interpretation about inner hope, healing and finding light at the end of the tunnel when all seems hopeless.

Thank you for all kind words! Here is an explanation for the flower Ramonda: Natalie’s ramonda possesses a remarkable ability to revive even when fully dehydrated (just with one drop of water) and demonstrates adaptability to harsh environments and it represents hope in bad times. As a result, the flower represents one of the national symbols of Serbia, reflecting the resiliance of the Serbian struggle in World War I (we lost 30% of the population) and symbolizing the rebirth and revival of the country.💜

Lyrics have so many layers and meaning (both historical (WW1, 11th November) and personal, also fun fact; ramonda serbica is a plant that grows only in some parts of our country). Even if we don’t place well in the end, I’m happy we’re sending these messages to the world. 💜

We lived together 2000 years ago. We have similar traditional sounds and simbols. It's not proven yet if Scordisci were Celtic or Serbian tribe S(e)rdi(ci) (just badly transcibed in Latin). Srbli-Trbli (Srbi in Greek Tribali) are Thraco-Ilyrian tribes mixed with Celts and some north Slavic tribes.

Song is about hard times in our lifes when we die out inside. She used flower ramonda in chorus becouse that flower, which can be found only on mounteens in central balkan, are also known as "phoenix flower". Even if it dries out only few drops of water and he comes back to life. Ppl going trough hard times are clear metaphora on that flower ability. Ramonda flower also represent resurection of serbia during ww1. Ppl in Serbia wear that flower every 11th november just like brits wear poppy flower.

Who the hell cares about those stupid biased odds. This is the essence of Eurovision. A song that makes people realise what peace, resilience, hope, inner strength are as values. It goes beyond being just a representative, it tells a deep meaningful story, it's being sung in Serbian language and the song itself takes you somewhere unexplainable, well I think it's heaven, it makes you float above the horizon. This is a timeless entry filled with excessive beauty and no matter what odds or the results say it will keep us feeling that magnificent emotion of hope again and again in this deteriorating world for years to come.

The rock on which the singer is lying at the beginning of the video represents the island of Corfu in Greece,
where Serbian soldiers recovered in the First World War, after retreating across Albania.
We call the sea around the island of Krv the Blue Tomb, because many soldiers who died are buried there.
In Serbia, the Ramonda flower is a symbol of rebirth and rising from the ashes. Also Ramonda is called phoenix flower.
The people have gone through and are going through many misfortunes and sufferings, but they always hope that everything will be fine.
This song is dedicated to all those who sacrificed themselves for the benefit of new generations.

This song has even deeper meaning that stranger might not understand trough reading lyrics but it is heavily referenced trough it and video as well - ramonda is Serbia's endemic flower, known as “phoenix flower” due to ability to resurrect with a single drop of water, which became a symbol of Serbian suffering during the Great Retreat of the First World War. Thousands of Serbian soldiers were "buried" in sea near Vid, Corfu, Greece, place now known as Blue Tomb.

Oh finally! Been waiting for this reaction ❤❤ it sure is a very nice, emotional and touching song. Whether she wins ESC 2024 or not she's already a winner to me. One of the ESC songs that I've repeated over hundreds of times after Loreen's Tattoo ❤❤ Knowing the true meaning emotions behind Ramonda makes this songs even more valuable.

Teya Dora, the singer, is actually sort of known in Europe, more specifically the Balkans, for her song "Dzanum", it's also very beautiful

lila ramonda is very resilient flower ( it needs just few drops of water to rise from the stone )...there are many levels of the song message, ( anti war song, related to Serbian symbol in the 1WW) but this is the story of human everyday struggle as well, when we need to be warriors, to win ourselves and rise from ashes like lila ramonda...Thank you so much for your comments💜🌸
