My favorite thing about the Battle of Helios One is that it's basically a chance for the NCR to settle scores with the Brotherhood after they destroyed their economy during the Brotherhood-NCR War. The fact the Mojave Chapter was basically annihilated here and the NCR never even learn why doesn't hurt, either; there's a certain ominous air to it all.
Too bad they put a literal idiot as the head scientist of Helios one afterwards. Seriously I'm pretty sure a broken Mr Handy would have done a better job of getting the solar station back online.

The Followers of the Apocalypse sent an attache to Helios One and he probably would have been able to get it up and running if the security system hadn't been activated. If the NCR had a competent guy in charge, they would have most definitely weaponized the power plant and I'm kind of against the idea of putting more WMDs into a post-apocalyptic wasteland.

(side note look at any battle were one has to attack a massively fortified position and the NCR will look like gods for taking so few without artillery)

Not only that. They miss the point of the founder's plans, he wanted to preserve all technology to aid the recovery after the great war. The modern brotherhood Of Steel only cares about hoarding guns so they can project power over the wasteland. Not or hardly caring for any other technology like water purification, food production, medicine, radiation treatment, etc. and while the weapons are handy against the critters of the wasteland, they really don't need an entire stockpile of fat man launchers to take out a minor mirelurk infestation, you know?

NCR did many mistakes and they're clearly not best people but the path they passed, the civilization they built, how far they gone, how many enemies stronger than them they defeated, how bravery some of them fought in mojave, it's deserves respect
They're still the major remnant of civilization in the wasteland. Ironically that makes them more civilized than the legion which tried to mimic one of the first civilizations.

This is so well done. The integration of fallout NV and 4 assets blend well despite how different the games were. Makes sense too given its post apocalyptic setting, could have sourced those weapons from all over. Plus the gun runners made brand new firearms in New Vegas. Also those ncr shock troops are sic. Definitely could see someone modding some ncr troops to be op in melee and small guns. This is the cannon depiction of the battle for helios one for all I care, it's just so good.

(He would've been 21, that's old enough to have enlisted and made it through Selection to be assigned to 1st Recon). Thing is, there's _no_ love lost between the Brotherhood and NCR, Boone wouldn't have guilt killing other soldiers, especially ones who overmatch his side so much. He wouldn't be as traumatized as what happened at Bitter Springs.
This is up there with Astartes in terms of direction and composition as far as I'm concerned. It also perfectly nails the atmosphere and "vibe" of the lore. Sodaz is killing it, and GW are fools for sending him a c&d

what make the NCR the best faction?! it's not them being democratic or any of their ideologies (in fact democracy is what holding them back in many aspects) what make them the best is that they are just a bunch of settlers and wastelanders who one day started creating a nation they aren't a rogue military branch like the Brotherhood of steel or the remnants of the government like the Enclave they are just settlers and wastelanders and with all of their flaws they are still the most effective and successful functioning government in the whole Fallout universe they able to provide security and stability for majority of their citizens they might make mistakes here and there but still they are far more effective as a form of government than the Brotherhood that just want to hog all the technology for themselves and leave the average wastelander for his demise or the Enclave that basically want to wipe out all surface dwellers because they are "mutants" and leave only the "pure" themselves and vault dwellers I wish people can now see why the NCR are best hope for the people of the waste

Those dude with the armor plating and plate mask are rad asf it's basically a fast, much more mobile, cost efficient, and reliable armor to slap on a regiment to bury you're enemies with hardened piles of numbers and their morticians aswell!!!
And i love how the the mini gun mags are attached to the back of the power armor just some real nice details!!!

it's not them being democratic or any of their ideologies (in fact democracy is what holding them back in many aspects) what make them the best is that they are just a bunch of settlers and wastelanders who one day started creating a nation they aren't a rogue military branch like the Brotherhood of steel or the remnants of the government like the Enclave they are just settlers and wastelanders and with all of their flaws they are still the most effective and successful functioning government in the whole Fallout universe they able to provide security and stability for majority of their citizens they might make mistakes here and there but still they are far more effective as a form of government than the Brotherhood that just want to hog all the technology for themselves and leave the average wastelander for his demise or the Enclave that basically want to wipe out all surface dwellers because they are "mutants" and leave only the "pure" themselves and vault dwellers
I wish people can now see why the NCR are best hope for the people of the waste

Aún recuerdo cuando me convertí en un soldado de la República de Nueva California tenía como unos 17 años cuando me uní al ejército participé en la lucha contra la hermandad del acero como soldado de infantería vi morir varios de mis hermanos de armas para rompe la línea defensiva de la hermandad del acero pensé que sería imposible hasta que llegaron la infantería blindada con sus armaduras logramos romperla después de esa batalla fui ascendido como capitán participe en la batalla de la presa hubert luché contra legiones de César luché hombro con hombro con alguien que no era parte de la ncr pero fue de gran ayuda para evitar que las legiones tomaran la presa fui herido por un disparo de francotirador después de eso no participé en el asedio de Roma ahora ya estoy retirado aún me siento orgulloso de haber Unido al ejército de la ncr y luchar por ellos así que joven si te vas unidad a el ejército de la nueva República de California te aconsejo que siempre llevas contigo tú revólver a todos lados
