    Bought my battery powered mower 4 years ago. Battery still going strong. We cut 10-11 months per year. South Louisiana.

    Nice demo. I agree that for small lots, battery powered is a very good choice.

    I have a greenworks battery lawnmower and its been 4 years. No problems at all. I do have a bigger yard so go through 3 batteries when cutting.

    Ha! I was gonna buy one of those manual push rotary mowers a few year's back for emergencies or SHTF scenarios for when gasoline wasn't available. And i saw places selling em cheap!
    I'm kicking myself now for not buying one. Hard to find now, and costing considerably more!

    Gas, you can purchase a lot of gas for what one Lithium battery costs .

    I have a kobalt battery mower..trimmer and blower use the same battery. I have a small yard and it’s been great. Had it for 9 years..still working although I finally had to replace the large capacity battery. No green motivation..just didn’t want to have to buy gas for a little yard.

    Battery for me. I have 1/4 acre mowable in a sub. I chose Kress and have gotten rid of all my gas equipment. Between all the brands, Kress had the best power and warranty. They have a ton of torque.

    I have a Lawn boy 2 stroke that my dad bought in 1994 and a 1997 Lawn Boy from Craigslist. I bought the 1997 model for spare parts because the seller said it had had low compression. I’ve been using it for 12 years. My dad’s old mower is basically my backup. Screw the battery power crap .

      You sir are a smarter man than me, and you just proved it. Yep, no spark plug changes, oil changes, no need to mess with gas, no popped starting cords, no air filter to constantly clean, no breaking out tool and taking crap apart to fix and maintain and adjust it, no carburetor to clean and buy parts for, no dry rotting fuel hoses to maintain, no flywheel issues, no aging cracked or leaking gas tanks, no aging cracked or leaking gas cap, no recoil starter assembly issues, no fuel filters. Simply pushing a button that requires 8 oz of pressure and getting your work done is for sissies. I want to make 3 trips to the perform 8 hours minimum of maintenance every year like a real man. Besides them fancy electric boys need to sharpen their blades and replace that dern expensive battery ever four or five years. SCREW PROGRESS AND THEM DAGUM NEW FAGLLED DEALY -BOBS! Your faithful allegiance to low tech is admirable. But seriously I'm 62 and I have seen it all. I never had a dad to give me a mower like you, I bought my first mower for 5 bucks from the widow of a man who said he'd rather die than buy one of them fancy gas powers mowers. It was a 40's push reel mower (no engine). Used it to mow other peoples lawns for money. (Most of this is said with tongue-in-cheek and partial truth and good nature) Don't let 'em trick you into into the future.

    If you go battery powered , go with ego. Bought one for my mother in law and she loves it.

    I need I new push mower as right now I have an electric plug-in lawn mower I borrowed from my brother's wife's father.....So I never had to buy a lawn mower but it's starting to make noise now like the bearings going but it's still cunning thank goodness.....But I really hate the fact I have to plug it in for a long extension cord it's a pain in the butt.... Plus I feel if I didn't have a plug-in lawn mower I could cut my grass a little bit faster as I don't have to struggle with the cord around things.....So i'm really on the fence on either gas or battery powered lawn mower.....I have done some research I need to do more like how long does the battery last until you need to buy a new one....O probably takes me an hour to do my lawn..... is it cheaper charging the battery than using gas in the lawn mower.....The plug-in electric lawn mower I have is an older model so I'm sure a battery-powered brand new lawn mower would probably be better than the one I have now.....If I bought a gas powered lawn mower I probably go with a Honda as Honda makes a good engine are there about $1,000 Canadian which is crazy for a lawn mower but it should last years I would hope.....

    Gas.....gives you more freedom of movement.....unless you enjoy rolling up several electric cords and storing them. Plus, electricity and wet/damp grass doesn't mix well....

    • @robbyvoigt6042
      @robbyvoigt6042 Před měsícem

      It's powered by a battery, not an electrical cord so you have the same "freedom of movement" that you would with a gas mower and no electrical cords.

    For small yards you can go in either way but if you're not willing to do the maintenance required to keep a gas mower running properly, electric is a better choice.

    I'll stick with gas. Consistent power with gas. Battery power is now always at 100% Throw away cultural is not going green.
