CATL's journey and its innovative projects in electric transportation have revolutionized the industry and paved the way for a greener and more sustainable future. The development of the full electric airplane is a testament to CATL's unwavering commitment to pushing the boundaries of what is possible in the world of electric mobility. Do you think CATl will pull through and produce the next 8-ton electric airplane in due course and become the leader in this industry? Please share your thoughts down in the comment below. Thank you for watching! 🙏

They have succeeded testing 4-ton so 8-ton shouldn't be an issue. This is absolutely a cool innovation!

Tesla already said they have the design for VTOL flights. When the battery density reaches 400wh/kg, they will work on bringing that up. Right now CATL claims the have condensed 500wh/kg battery. Tesla is also working on that. It will happen in US also

@@ramb5193 Yup, no doubt EFV will be made in the USA, and other countries too! Just around a decade ago, Elon laughed when asked how much a threat to Tesla the made-in-China EV are. Now he is not laughing anymore, and the USA and EU now have to resort to imposing tariffs on made-in-China EV to make their home-made EV competitive. As always, time will tell!

Most of the energy a plane uses are during takeoff. Just like Scalextric cars use a track for energy, planes can also use an energized track with contactors which detach upon takeoff. This will improve range and save the batteries energy for flight only.

Probably start with lesser range and cargo weight capacity compared to prop plane .. but much lesser then engine maintenance.
Good for low cost air travel where ticket is cheap but cargo is expensive per kg.
The reason is battery is heavy but elect motor maintenance cost is only 30% of engine.

At the pace at which progress in drone technology has been pushing the envelope, I believe propagation of small personal aircraft for 2 to 4 people people is the near future. Their short range is limiting but will be geared toward businesses at first. As this transportation mean becomes safer, more convenient and well accepted, it will become a game changer in personal commuting, provided the AI autopilot and grid charging system (or swapping) is ubiquitous by then. Why? because getting between 2 points is more efficient in a straight line, where roads fail and cost more and cannot cover all areas. The payload those current drones already achieve is proven. Unmanned take off and landing wherever needed is definitely desirable for hourly deliveries of merchandises, and already feasible. This will revolutionize the transportation industry of the future just like science fiction had predicted..

Full Electric aero planes already exist in the west but generally for smaller planes as they can't do long hauls. For that the west now has hydrogen powered aircraft. It wouldn't make sense to make a large full electric aircraft as the weight of the batteries make them inefficient. While conventional fueled aircraft have the weight of fuel or hydrogen as the fuel is burnt, they become more efficient as the weight is reduced. This does not happen with batteries so you will use much more energy leading to shorter distances.

  • @subramaniamchandrasekar1397

They also made another plane with a spare battery and long jump start cables.

Electric plane can use electromagnetic runways like the ones on the new Chinese aircraft carriers to safe energy in the battery for longer flight. The future is unlimited with many exciting possibilities. Imagine if US politicians are not so barbaric and willing to cooperate with the world to develop technology to improve better living for all, this world will be more enjoyable! 🙏🙏✌️
