Retractable Steps- Increasing Floor Space in Your Shop/Garage!

In this video I move some retractable steps that I installed in my shop/garage. After a year having them in the middle of my floor I realized that a new location would be much better and safer. I moved them to a new location and after installing them, I definitely made the right move. The original stairs were attached with 4 heavy duty hinges and a 3 to 1 pully system. The new system is set up very similar; however, I upgraded it to a hand crank trailer winch that can hold 1,000 lbs. I also added a safety feature to keep the stairs from falling. While this system isn't perfect, but it will work great for me. My hope is that it may inspire you to utilize your limited space. Thanks for watching!!!
