Thanks so much for sharing all 3 products. We are trying to pick out a machine that "blows air" from the bottom to remove those pesky sharp tiny bits that get stuck in your throat. I really do have a hard time eating popcorn bc of it. Do you know of a machine that blows it around to remove those bits. Thank you so much. 😊🍿

Great video, and excellent information. This must be a 4 ounce popcorn popper, since ½ cup of raw popcorn went into the kettle. The nice lady hosting this video is 100 percent correct on how to use a popcorn popper of this size. My popcorn popper is an 8 ounce, and I use 1 cup popcorn, ⅓ cup oil, and 1 teaspoon of FLAVACOL popcorn seasoning per batch. One very important thing to remember is to NEVER double the amount of raw popcorn and oil, nor should you cut the amounts in half; the popcorn popper is specifically designed to work its very best when you use the recommended amounts of raw popcorn seeds, oil, and flavoring, if any. Most people don't know this about popcorn equipment like in this video. In such cases, read the instructions that came with the popper, or get instruction from someone that knows how to properly and safely use the popcorn equipment. It's very simple to make great popcorn in any size kettle, just be sure you know the poppers kettle capacity. For example, in a 24 ounce popcorn popper, use 3 cups of raw popcorn, 1 cup popping oil, and 1 heaping tablespoon of FLAVACOL popcorn seasoning per batch. This is the same ratio, proportion, or percentage of popping oil and FLAVACOL sesasoning as was used in this video.

I worked at theaters in the 80's to the late 90's and I do remember the coconut oil being orange. The way I make my own is to mix 15g of virgin cold pressed red fruit palm oil (which gives it the beta carotene color) with 40g of virgin cold pressed coconut oil. The salt can be done much cheaper if you just take regular salt and run it in a spice or coffee grinder. It's the same process used to make flavacol. Or you can use the "extra fine" powdered salt from Kroger/Ralphs from their "private collection" brand, which sticks to the popcorn pretty much the same way. I find this to be much more like movie popcorn back in the day before they switched their methods in the early 2000's to be more "healthy." I was unaware of this buttery coconut oil. I might give that a try. Thanks.

Hello, I bought the Betty Crocker movie nite popcorn maker. Really nice looking. I followed your instructions, I got the butter and salt. Taste is amazing, taste like movie theater you were right. However I’m having issue with the machine itself. I put just a small spoon (the one that come with the machine) of kernel. The popcorn pop but after few seconds popcorn get jammed in the kettle… and start burning so I have to turn off the machine. Did you ever got that problem with your machine? It’s pretty annoying cause the taste is amazing. But I can’t never make a large sac of popcorn for that reason :(

The Flavacol is the real secret ingredient. Theatres don't typically use coconut oil, however, because it's too expense. Peanut and canola are more common, although coconut is probably the healthy choice. At home, I've used olive oil, too, but coconut pops better. Where theatre popcorn is especially unhealthy, however, is the "butter flavored" OIL they use for topping. Bad stuff. Good quality kernels, the correct measurement of oil and salt, and proper temperatures and timing can give you BETTER popcorn than what you get at theatres.

Have you ever tried popping the corn using only the at the movies pop corn brand topping oil that you show in your video? I know people who claim that using only that oil the popcorn has an incredible flavor, even better than using coconut oil, and it makes sense to me, since that topping oil also has beta carotene to give it color and flavor on its own.
