  • 5 days - 215 km through the great planes of Serbia`s Vojvodina region.
June is late start for this trip - during the day the temperatures are very high and you hike in the open. April or May may be better months to start.
There is no water on the ground, only in the villages. It is mostly chlorinated, but can be bought from stores if needed. There are small shops for food in almost every village.
Accommodation is available in the larger villages, but generally cannot be relied upon for every night.
There were no signs prohibiting camping anywhere, but it's good to always ask for permission from locals.
Relatively easy and good start to route verification
Тhe ground verification is part of the Balkania Route project financed under the EU-funded BESTbelt project - more info about the project - tinyurl.com/BalkaniaRoute

The Balkan green belt trail is part of an extraordinary ecological network and living memorial landscape along the former Iron Curtain, which divided the European continent into East and West for nearly 40 years. Along 24 countries and more than 12,500 kilometres - from the Barents Sea at the Russian-Norwegian border, along the Baltic Coast, through Central Europe and the Balkans to the Black and the Adriatic Sea - the border zone granted nature a pause and has created a zone of life. As the European Green Belt snakes from north to south it passes through a
ge variety of European landscapes. Today, the European Green Belt forms the backbone of a Pan-European ecological network and provides a significant contribution to European "Green Infrastructure".
