    Nobody is mentioning the full truth. After about a week+ all of the town was allowed to go back into their homes from 7am -5pm daily. The Blue Lagoon was also opened back up and so the whole town of Grindavik was full of people & the Blue Lagoon was at half capacity the day of the Eruption. The people in town & at the Blue Lagoon had just happened to go back to their newer residences or the places they were staying with strangers who took them in. They weren't evacuated. They weren't warned. They all were told that most could be back in their homes full time by Christmas Said by the town council. What an awful rhing to promise. If they had not left many townspeople would have been in their homes when this happened with no warning. They had been told things were slowing down and looked great for returning. Their houses are already severely damaged from weeks of hundreds of earthquakes. Insurance company said the most they would do was only fix most of the homes not help them find new homes with their well deserved insurance premiums paid. People who's houses were totalled were told they would be charged a home removal fee out of their insurance reimbursements. They were mostly going to be strongarmed into living on top of this pressure cooker! Their properties have been severely diminished in value as well. The town is/was full of fischers and sink holes. Some were going to be kept as memorials and tourist attractions! Yes they tried to fill most of them and told townspeople they were going to be able to " stabilize" the fischer so the town received much less damage. Well we can all see how this turned out! These poor people. If you go here on YT and watch On The Pulse with Silki you can learn the real facts of what has been going on in Grindavik. There was so much denial going on in many people's opinions of how this was going turn out. People being told it had sliwed down Told areas had stabilized. Told they could return to their homes full time by the 24th. Thank God they weren't there when it blew. That would have been tramatic for people who are already traumatized. People must realize that people can't just pack up and keave a country you are born 1:40 in. It doesn't work like that and isn't easy. It's slso expensive & has a lot of legalities involved. Many if these people have had to pay for 2 homes while all this has been going on. It's a mess. It's fantastic that nobody has been hurt or killed so far.

    • @bookmagicroe9553
      @bookmagicroe9553 Před 5 měsíci +1

      @john: it's hard to say if it will warm the atmosphere. Back in the 1800s a huge volcanic eruption sent so
      much dust into the atmosphere that the sun didn't shine through it for months. The atmosphere cooled
      due to that. Crops were lost that didn't have enough sunshine and warm enough weather. It will be
      interesting to see what happens with this one.

      Volcanic winter of the 6th century. I thought it was somewhere in Indonesia so it was in Iceland. This seems a way smaller incident then. That event had its consequences to farwyay places like India. Collapse of the Indian Gupta Empire was the result of crop failure due to that event. Maybe the western Roman Empire collapsed due to this too. And the beginning of Hunnic plague upon settled civilizations.
