David Spade never got enough credit for his sarcastic comedy he is hilarious
Isn’t that primarily what he’s known for?
@@wellesradio but did he get enough credit for it?
@@dco1019 Your sarcasm level is too powerful. It is unwieldy. We must shut down the experiment.
So true. Stand up or otherwise. He never failed to bring the funny
Yeah, he’s definitely funnier than Adam Sandler
As a fellow 34yr old dude, I can vouch that Tommy Boy is one of “our” movies. Perfect timing, helped shape our senses of humor.
I’m 29. I thank my brothers for my love of Chris Farley. He was one of the best :)
Dumb and Dumber, Tommy Boy, and Billy Madison are my top three.
I’m 33 and was just telling my husband we need to show our 12 yr old son Tommy Boy. It was THE funny movie of our childhood. My brothers and I quote it all the time
Update: My son loved it
34 club! 🙋🏻♀️
36 and loved CF
"You guys have chemistry?" "I'll see it towards the end I'm sure" Lol
Best line of the whole interview. Spade is major league funny, the guy without sunglasses was awake, while the guy wearing sunglasses was clueless.
@@jerrypete3799 Lol! And he said it with his classic David Spade snarky, subtle diss I love him for!
David Spade is such a great laid-back guy. I can see why the whole SNL crew loved him so much
I’m 13 and thankfully my parents educated me on comedy’s! Chris Farley and John Candy and John Belushi have always been big heroes of mine! Miss them all so much. ❤️❤️
👏👏🙏🔥👍
John Candy was a respectable actor. Belushi and Farley weren’t
@@nsasupporter7557 you ask anyone who knew Chris and they’d tell you he was an amazing person…. The things Chris did he wasn’t himself, same with John. Substance abuse can make someone a completely different person. Sure they did some bad things but I truly believe they didn’t mean it 🤷🏼♀️
@@maggiesouza7 what I meant by that was Candy didn’t have such a miserable, tragic, out of control life like Farley and Belushi did. John Candy actually had control over his life and he wasn’t such a drug addict like the other 2 were. I know he had a drinking problem but still didn’t come close to the tragedy that Farley and Belushi’s lives were. Also, Candy was just a better actor in general. He didn’t only do a bunch of stupid comedy like those 2 did. I didn’t say that Farley wasn’t an amazing person, he probably was a nice guy but he definitely WASN’T someone to idolize, neither was Belushi
@@maggiesouza7 … also, Chris Farley was such a pitiful, tragic person. I felt so sorry for him 😢😭 it had to suck to have been him
I'm 19 and I maintain that Tommy Boy is my all-time favorite movie (Blacksheep's great, too!) I'll never forget how Chris had me rolling on my couch as a little kid, crying and struggling to breathe from laughter. It really sucks he died 3 years before I was born, I wish I was around and I wish he was still around
Both are excellent Farley flicks, but the bit that still makes me fall off the couch laughing is his Japanese Chef in Beverly Hills Ninja, haha :P
I've watched tommy boy and black sheep at least like 50 times and I laughed every time. Chris Farley was truly one of my comedic heroes. Hes probably the only person that can make me laugh to the point where I cant breathe.
P l
The "Wisconsin Dundee" line is one of the funniest things I've ever heard.
As someone from Wisconsin, hilarious 🤣
As someone who lived in Wisconsin for 11 years, very accurate.
He's sharp, always has been. Also like his line about the tiny jet being like an "MRI machine with wings", haha..
David Spade is still very underrated. He’s hilarious and so relatable. They should’ve done so many more Hollywood minute sketches. Or Joe Dirt gets abducted. 😂
I’m 26 now, and I grew up watching all these guys. Tommy Boy, Black Sheep, Beverly Hills Ninja, SNL, all the great 90s comedy. It makes me so sad to know that the current generation will most likely never know about these movies or the great comics such as Chris Farley
I’m 20 and a lot of people my age know Chris Farley
David is a comedic treasure and you guys made him shine. Brilliant Job Big Cat and PFT. I'm from Madison and Farley is... well he's Farley. A legend. I've learned a lot about him over the years and interviews with Spade were getting redundant until this one. Thanks for unearthing some new highlights both about Chris and SNL.
Only recently have I discovered how intelligent, and even compassionate, Spade is… very respectable dude, that often gives off a misleading acidic vibe as a performer
I'm here a bit late but as a 20 year old "kid' Chris Farley and Tommy Boy is the most iconic comedy from my childhood that I return to all the time. I truly believe that my sense of humor comes from Chris and Tommy boy.
Chris was one of a kind with so much potential that he barely got to show. RIP to a true legend.
David Spade will always be my Emperor.
Spades one of those dudes you can listen to in endless interviews, he always has a story and tells it in a humble detailed manner.
Tommy Boy was a favorite of mine, Farleys a damn legend
"Son of a.. that's gonna leave a mark" :)
No he’s not. Farley IS NOT a legend! Far from it
@@nsasupporter7557 Sweet edit bro. Couldn't spit out complete bullshit the first go? Fukin nerd.
@@nsasupporter7557 you had to edit that? 🤡
@@boxcarchildrent.v.8477 getting desperate there, little fella?
That’s the best comeback you had just because you were mad that I said Farley wasn’t a legend?
Black Sheep was great and underrated
I think Black Sheep had funnier moments than Tommy Boy. I remember it had me in tears the first time I saw it. Even the intro when Farley was driving that big truck that got stuck under the marquee. So many subtle things to that movie that just crack me up.
Gary busey made it even better
I love Black Sheep more than Tommy Boy.
They didnt think it was good bc they were rushed doin it. That's what I heard anyway. I loved both tommy boy and black sheep
I loved it! At some points I thought it was funnier than Tommy boy!
As a kid born in 94 spade and farley definitely shapped my sense of humor... wish i could have enjoyed farley more...
U was born in 94' u never saw a Farley movie in theaters..... Lol what do u know bout those years?
@@coreyhall1150 my dad watched them with me and he was born in 56 anymore questions?
No many how many times I watch Tommy boy I piss myself laughing. Goat.
Still after 25 years. That's when you know it's good
Wish they had someone like Spade running SNL
Mcdonald's on wheels spade kills me with his sarcastic jokes
I can listen to David Spade talk about Farley all day
I think his character on Rules of Engagement, Russel, was the best. Such an underrated show.
Very true
His ripping on his assistant Timmy was the best
Yea it really was.
Tommy boy is the 90s trains plains and automobiles it's the best .
Two of my favorites. I split the gap, plains trains when I was a kid in the 80's, Tommy boy when I was in high school.
No, it’s not the best. There are plenty of other comedies that blow Tommy Boy outta the water
I’m 20 and I remember watching tommy boy on tape around 10 or so and I loved it
Michael Espinoza yeah I had a locate goodwill nearby where I got a vhs player on cheap and got a bunch of great movie like tommy boy I had a pretty good childhood because of it
@Michael Espinoza Hey. Some of us grew up poor, friend. I'm 25 and VHS' were a large part of my life.
i’m 13 and i’ve watched tommy boy a ton. every since i was a baby lol.
Born in 94. I remember my dad got me Beverley hills ninja on VHS for christmas when i was 6. Im not sure where it ranks among his all time list but 6 year old me laughed my ass off. I immeidately started picking my dads brain about chris Farley and he inevitably got to the point where he told me he had passed away. And just fucking wailing. Simultaneously my favourite and least favourite christmas
Beverly hills ninja you asshole.
Keep ur mouth shut if u dont know about Farley.
@@keithymg You know, muck boyz, why don't you shut your BIG YAPPER!
@@keithymg what's with the anger douche canoe?
Too bad Tommy Boy was his only hit movie
As a 14 year old and herring a 20 year old doesn’t know who Chris was that’s sad to me
I am 17 almost 18 and I fucking love Tommy boy and Black sheep 🖤 R.I.P Chris Farley🙏🏻❤️
Always admired Spade ♠️
Smooth comic delivery, and genuinely funny deeply cutting sarcasm.
Great interview!! Love David Spade! Gotta say I love this interviewer too! Passionate about the guest, kind, and well informed. You can also tell mr spade is really comfortable!!!! Thank you for this great interview!
Love David Spade........and Farley. "Fat guy in a little coat".
As a 20 year old, I have seen it. And it was my grandpas favorite movie. Much love.
i always loved watching those 2. it's a good thing DVDs came along because if we were still in the days of VHS.............i would have wore the tapes of Tommy Boy and Black Sheep completely in two.
I saw David spade while backstage at James corden show couple years ago. Seems cool. I didn’t know he was shorter than me. I’m 5’8
“An MRI with wings” lol
35 here. Makes me sad to think I've outlived the age chris was when he died just makes me realise how young he was
As a 43 year old man I can vouch that I have seen every Chris Farley and David Spade skit and movie. I have a really close friend that moved across the US from CA to Kentucky... I feel like our humor is similar to Farely and spade.... Maybe cause they are some of our favorite actors or maybe cause we have had hard lives and REALLY appreciate good humor.
I love how after all these years spade can still tell the best stories about Farley miss the big man always my favorite comedian
Tommy boy was the go to movie and still is for a great example of teamwork!
The stories not what’s important. It’s the journey of two people who genuinely work together well. Even when they’re pissed at each other.
The cabin when the rock knocks it off the foundation and then the wind tears the roof off. That shit to this day cracks me up laughing. I got dibs on top bunk. Hows the weather up there buddy?
Great stories. Still watch all these movies.
Spade's hair is pretty glorious. Dude's almost 60 and his hair is 25.
We definitely could have outsketched Yugoslavia.
I'm a 20 year old girl and I love Chris Farley. I watch his skits alot and I love Tommy Boy and Black Sheep and Cone Heads.
Tommy boy is the best comedy since planes, trains and automobiles.. not just funny as hell but what a great film
Uh no, not even close. There are plenty of other comedies that blow Tommy Boy outta the water…
Ace Ventura: Pet Detective,
The Mask
Dumb and Dumber
Mrs. Doubtfire etc
I use to watch Tommy Boy all the time in the early 2000's on VHS and remember when it first came out on DVD. Chris Farley was so funny on SNL and the movies he starred in .
My daddy was about 23 when tommy boy came out. Chris Farley was a big hero or is. When I was growing up my dad was the funniest guy I knew. He had a cadence and sense of timing that was unmatched, I would wheeze laugh everyday. When I was about 7 and my brother about 5 we all sat down and watched Tommy boy. It became our movie. We watched it probably a few hundred times. Whenever we would get bored we would just re-enact scenes. It was so automatic, we’d be sitting waiting somewhere and one of us would say a characters line and the other two would take over for the other characters and it used to make for so many laughs. I miss him so much. I wish I saw him more before he passed. You never know when your hero’s will go. Don’t let time pass you by
Farley had his moments when he was funny, that was it
The saddest story I ever heard Spade tell about SNL and Carvey just being handed shit because he was Carvey (no fault to him, funny AF) was when Michael J. Fox was hosting. Spade told the writer's room he did a good impression of Fox. Lorne asks Dana, "how about you?", Dana says he didn't do one, then Lorne says to Spade "show Dana how to do it".
There's a video here of Spade hosting an award show doing the impression with Fox in the audience, the slight stammer, the nervous Peter Brady voice crack, just every inflection is 100% perfect czcams.com/video/4bIhkOy5GXo/video.html
O HOW YOU ARE MISSED CHRIS !!!!!
Aside from Norm, Spade is the quickest on his feet of any comedian.
Can’t believe they threw away 40 pages for “Black Sheep” great underrated comedy
I like that David knows to pronounce Toronto as, Torono. Any Torontonian knows what I'm talking about
I quote Tommy boy to this day.
When Spade was on SNL with Carvey, Meyers, Farley, Neelan and all the others, that was the BEST of it. There has never been a funnier time for that show.
I appreciate David Spades humor, he’s a naturally hilarious guy.
Bro im 22 and i fucking love farley tommy boy and black sheep beverly hills ninja all of his movies i watched with my dad as a kid
I always looked forward to David Spade's "Hollywood Minute" segment on Weekend Update.
Out sketched Yugoslavia killed me
Im 22, the first time my dad showed my Tommy Boy i understood everything
Idk if this help anyones feelings but I was born in 95. Tommy boy came out in 97. I grew up watching Tommy boy and it's just as funny when I was 5 as it is as a 26 year old. I loved Tommy boy and black sheep. I'm sad that Chris Farley is gone, and I didn't even see his career progress. He was gone by the time I was 2-3
Awesome to see PFT supporting a Gaslight shirt.
Love this
an MRI with wings is a great description
*Spades one of my favorite people. Thanks for making me laugh man!*
MRI WITH WINGS OMFG IM DEAD
That's an awesome story. Godless. I always look forward to David Spade stories.
I favorite is Russell from rules of engagement
"I'll take it". Yep, that was an underrated Spade character for sure
Gaslight shirt! Yes!
Russell, Rules of Engagement.
Am I the only one who mixes up Black Sheep and Tommy Boy like it’s all one movie 🤷♂️
I need to find those Mic booms.
I’m 17 and I’ve known The Great Chris Farley since I could walk
I’m 19 and I fucking LOVE tommy boy!
32 and tommy boy still makes me laugh and cry.
Its craziest no matter how far u make it in hollywood ppl still will bring up chris farley to him

“Every vote counts!”
Hahaha... I say that line a lot
I have Tommy Boy and Black Sheep on a 1 disc collection the i bought like 15 years ago.

Wow great to know that Chris Farley loved McDonald's just like me RIP Chris your still missed to this day 😮😃🙏🏻😂
Gap girls was epic.... Because I use to work at the Gap 😂💯😂
We can't forget about black sheep…. It's also a classic
90 to 95, maybe 97 was the cast, next 1 wasnt bad but these boys and gals cooked. Being 18 to 26 maybe is part of it, nah they killed it....
That Gaslight Anthem shirt thoooo
Luv David. Him and Dana Carvey have a podcast now called Fly on the Wall. It's really good.
I wonder if he ever gets tired of these questions. Gotta be hard to answer these all the time with enthusiasm
Wow David spade remembers Chris farley.
He’s like an old chad
"You guys have chemistry?"
Surprised he didn't bring up his fight with Farley over Rob Lowe lol
Daehvid. Makin statements, on a radio show. Dave, the Daveanator, being honest, yet huuumble.
-Pauly Shore, early/mid 90s
My 10 year old daughter's favorite movie is Tommy boy.
"we definitely could've out-sketched yugoslavia"
