    My first one worked but no sound. Second one works fine so far..Lol…And i did purchase a 3 year warranty from Amazon so if it dies at least i get most of my money back.

      Wow, sorry that happened to you! Yeah mine was pretty great until I had to move pumps at a gas station. I started my car, moved up and turned off the car. I saw it trying to boot up but I guess I didn’t give it enough time?? I filled my tank and then went to leave and the screen never came on again but my music thumb drive still worked. I could still turn up the volume and change songs, I just couldn’t see what was playing. A month later the music stopped, then 2 weeks later the lights in the buttons went out. It was slowly dying every month! Haha.
      Hope your new unit works great! Thanks for watching and sharing. Didn’t know Amazon had warranties and that they are worth it.

      @@smitheys Yeah warranty gives me some satisfaction if it lasts 3 years really want the Kenwood if this fails thats my next option but it is like $1300 and im sure it would last.

    I've watched several videos about this particular unit and you are the only one that pronounces it correctly

    • @smitheys
      @smitheys  Před 10 měsíci +1

      Wow! I actually started thinking I was pronouncing it wrong with everyone else saying it different.

    Sorry to hear that. I’ve had mine for 2.5 years with absolutely no issues. Can’t say that my screen has ever gone dark. Even had a shop install an amp and subwoofer.

      I appreciate that, ME TOO! Haha. Yeah, my unit was great the first month. Then, I have no idea. I did nothing different for it to effect anything. Still waiting for them to give some insight. I may just have a defective unit or quality control was sleeping?

    My dasaita drains my battery had to put the OEM head unit back in. Tried many things can't fix it.

    I’m sorry to hear that. What a shame! I just watched your other video of the install & thought your video was perfect! I have a 2019 trd pro & the navigation is all jacked up so I’m looking to replace it. Wanted to get the dasaita, but now thinking about something else now.

    • @smitheys
      @smitheys  Před rokem +1

      Thanks for saying that and I’m glad you found it helpful. As for Dasaita, when it worked it was pretty great. Only minor software things I would love them to fix, like the main menu customization. There really isn’t any, I mean you can move things around but what’s there is there and can’t be removed. But that’s really minor petty things.
      Dasaita did reach out and admitted they found an issue and fixed it. They also stated they stopped sending the faulty units, so you may be alright now but I don’t work there or work for them so I don’t exactly know what they did or didn’t do.

    Same issue a few months ago, then a month later my 4runner wouldn't start. Put in a new battery. Dasaita started working again instantly.

      Wow, I wonder if they were related? My battery is in good condition and my charging system is the same. I’m glad yours is working again!

    sorry to hear that. but this is good time to get some sponsors bro, you been the CZcams game for longtime now. you know the little blonde girl that lives her 4runner on you tube, she has sponsors and don't do installs

    • @smitheys
      @smitheys  Před rokem +1

      Yeah, it was definitely unfortunate but it happens. I appreciate that. No, I haven’t seen her channel. Everyone is different and the same goes for their channels. I understand what you mean about the sponsorships but they aren’t always the goal for me. I’ve had offers but I’m not just gonna throw something in a video just for the money. There’s enough ad’s on CZcams videos alone, Haha. I do install videos and others because I enjoy them. I also like helping people that aren’t mechanically inclined. Even some that are, I’d still like to help anyone anywhere that I can.

    Have you looked in to the T10 V3.1 Knobless Headunit

    • @smitheys
      @smitheys  Před 9 měsíci

      I did look into them but I think I’m a bit old school when it comes to knobs. I’ve heard and experienced horrible knobless displays with them glitching, or just taking forever to be able to turn down the volume/change the track. I’m not against them in anyway, but I just prefer knobs… mainly the volume and track. I’ll check them out again, I looked at the v1 I believe. Been awhile. Thanks for the feedback! Are they worth it or are you just thinking of purchasing?

      Wow, didn’t the g12 just come out too??! I would definitely reach out to them immediately or just request a refund if they don’t offer a replacement or a fix. Sorry that is happening to you!

      @@smitheys I really liked G12 9.25" it looked cool. I'm Gonna order the G12 plus 10.25 model with no physical buttons only 2 knobs and 4 touch buttons and get the 3 yr warranty from Assurion/Amazon and if this one fails will get money back to go with Kenwood with Garmin GPS built in to it.returned First unit

    Any resolution from Dasaita? Recently has this happen to my unit and can’t find any solutions online that work

    • @smitheys
      @smitheys  Před rokem +1

      Yes, Dasaita did finally get back to me. They sent me a video of how to troubleshoot from a different car and unit, so not much help (I guess they were going for the same idea/process?). Dasaita also said they had defective units (I don’t know how many) but they said they stopped selling those and fixed the issue. Sorry that you’ve had a similar experience, I can’t speak for them but I would reach out to them and see about getting a help or a replacement.

    Maybe something came disconnected in the back. Did you say it is made in China?

    • @smitheys
      @smitheys  Před rokem +1

      Yes, it’s made and shipped from Dasaita in China. I honestly don’t know what it was. When I disconnected it, I check all the pins/wires in the back then I plugged it back in. It may just be a bad unit or bad quality control… you win some, you lose some.
