Not Every Explore Goes As Planned..

  • I began this explore in high hopes especially seeing the size of some of the waste rock piles higher up on the mountain. The further along I went, the more disappointed I got and the realization I may not get the underground time I so yearned for. There was some really cool outside infrastructure which definitely made up for it, including an old engine and car chassis as well as a pretty intact ore chute. Being a spontaneous explore as it was I enjoyed just being out in the mountains checking out yet another mine site and its remaining mining history. Hope you guys enjoy!

I would say scout ahead with a drone to see if the mines are open, but you are probably just like me, it's not the destination, it's the journey, you never know what you will find, only boots on the ground can find, love your videos, always have ,always will😊

you can get guards for your shins that will protect you from rattlesnakes that you may not see. I'm thinking some of those pipes are guides for cables. the old machinery in the days before hydraulic rams used cables to control stuff. the only machine I can think of offhand to demonstrate what I mean would be a 40's era dozer. the back of the dozer has a winch to lift the blade on the front. the cable travels through a pipe from front to back.

This is super similar to what it's like hunting for anthracite mines out here in Pa. Waste rock piles everywhere and you can see where the portals were but they're either gated or collapsed. It's still nice exploring though. Gotta check them off the list.

Awesome video I wasn’t disappointed at all the way the rock is looking in this area its more of a conglomerate of fractured stone where some areas could be more loose and prone to cave in very similar to a dangerous mine near my house that had a cave in and death occured.

Plz be very careful around those places Mr. Eastwood , McFly. They're rudimentally fenced off for a reason. we used to go searching in the forests in Leadville and find these vent shafts all over the place. a drunk in the middle of the night without a flashlight was a easy trap. know what i mean bro? Cheers for what you're doing. Plz be safe. positive frequencies. find those levi's

A couple of questions! When you are in these mines. Do you feel you have to be cautious, some just seem to have small pieces of timber holding up sections. And do you find low level ore that is not worth the effort to mine

Have you considered snake chaps? I'm curious to know about how many names were in the geocache log you signed in this video:
Hiking to a 1950's CIA Plane Wreck of an SA-16 Albatross
    czcams.com/video/TnGG5k0e5iM/video.html
What's interesting in that video are the items that look like they've been sprayed in more recent times with yellow spray paint as if they were tagged as items for removal.

I got a legit question, being born in Gunnison, Colorado and having lived up in Leadville and Placer valley and searched many mines 20 years ago. If they boulder up and foam up a enterance, why would they do that? maybe preserving or hiding something for the future? almost like that scene in that movie with the guy and the thing. Cheers brother. happy hunting.

BLM (Bureau of Land Management) in California and Nevada, is going around and closing (sealing off) any and all mines that might cause harm. They become aware of these mines by the amount of social media and/or accidents by careless people. Some of the mines are foamed off with stacked rocks or Bat Cages and foam.

i was kind of half smiling to myself, a brave man entering mines on his own, and wearing shorts, i hope no snakes about, i wonder if you carry anti venom in your emergency pack, just in case, i think i'd have a metal cane or something to prod ahead of me, but then i guess the horrible critters can be at any level to you and strike out
