rip andy anderson :(
RIP Andy Anderson. I really love the psychedelic top era. I do miss simon but the replacements were doing a good job, plus you have Porl and Robert.
JubeProductions bit more energy and faster paced, blue sunshine , the top chorus bass, thornalley bass is so cool and chorusy, with a funky vibe

Best Band in the World 👍👍👍😃🔨🔥
Robert was SO busy in these years.... a new album every year, Banshees in there somewhere and blue sunshine, Japanese whispers, the top was the beginning of the newer sound, personal changes and their breakout album just 1 year later. the writing and the studio and touring.... time must have just flown by.
Maybe the best performances of the band this year. The best lineup for sure. Everything is just perfect.
no gallup no sound
WOW!!! This is soooo cool! I can remember these days....Half of the cure's fans weren't even born yet!! 2016 shows can't wait!
Tight drumming on One 100 years. RIP Andy.
Andy R.I.P. ???
@@donatocapurso784 died in february 2019
Saudades Andy Anderson....😢😢😢
Andy laid down the Black funk! Good stuff.
In April 1984, The Cure embarked on "The Top World Tour" following the success of The Caterpillar. Robert Smith, Lol Tolhurst and Andy Anderson bring Phil Thornalley and Porl Thompson on board for the tour. From January to February 1984, The Cure with Norman Fisher-Jones aka NOKO (bassist) performed at two venues (Munich and Zurich) prior to the album's release. In this video the bassist is Noko, not Phill.
Those synths on Bananafishbones sound amazing
That´s cause The Top is the Cure´s best album !
Borris is my favorite but every time i hear Andy i love what he does. Really wish he was able to stay in the band longer. There is a lot of people on that stage, very interesting line-up right here. Wouldn't mind 2 guitars and 2 keyboards going full time as permanent personal for The Cure. The more layered and complex the better.
yeah the aggressive drumming from Andy really gave character to songs like shake dog shake and give me it
It is truly a shame that this lineup did not have more time to grow ! In a lot of ways it was one of the most aggressive Cure lineups in their history.
Extremely gorgeous Bob♡.♡
Piggy in the mirror great different Bass line!
Super❤😊
This is a band flying by the seat of it's pants! Love it.
Hoping Andy Anderson gets well soon, stay strong Andy xxxx
Hey, he's playing his original Top 20 guitar that's pretty cool!
Original 80s Cure♡♡
I love the Top. One of my favorite albums (love everything from the 80’s) - it’s just different
Spectacular concert,Top is my absolute favourite LP
Klaudija Vorih Mine too...
it was my first favorite!
Es algo indescriptible, simplemente la mejor banda The Cure
Tambien me parece la mejor banda pero tampoco llegó al fanatismo
@@absens81 pues no piensas igual porque no eres super o fan o simplemente no sabes de música,así de fácil
100 years sounds excellent
Danke von Herz zu Herz!
My fav Cure live performance from Top tour
100 years...love it..already 40 years
Groovy set list...many thanks.... This is golden!
powerful voice
Great Andy Anderson. 💙
Band for each generation
Piggy in the mirror a master piece
Love The Cure!!
Wailing Wall sounds so great here in live! Much more powerful than LP
Totally!
This is amazing...Thank you for uploading xx
Gotta love this show♡♡
its the fashion--they look so cool
I love this Concert ! Thanks for sharing, a very good quality and with Andy !!🖤🖤🖤🙏🙏🙏
Thank you very much!!! Was looking for this!
So nice, Robert was amazing, punk and handsome for me in this performance wow...It sounds great , I miss Simon Gallup´s bass line ,though. My favourite tracks are Play for today and Primary in this show. Thanks for sharing it !!!

Thanks!!
Diamond !
Rare performance with Norman Fisher Jones on Bass.
I'm pretty sure that's Phil Thornalley. He produced The Cure's Pornography.
@@JubeProductions is Norman Fisher
In this video the bassist is Noko, not Phill. In April 1984, The Cure embarked on The Top World Tour following the success of The Caterpillar. Drummer reminds me of the Futuristic guy in 'Bill & Ted's Excellent Adventure'
Just splendid
Robert is gorgeous 😭
Two things that haven't changed in 40 years are Robert's voice and Robert's hair.
Sublime
Que buena agrupación suena bien
Holy shit johnny marr on bass
In this video the bassist is Noko.
Bananafishbones….What a masterpiece as well as “The Top.” Seen them perform since 1987, both in the USA and Japan, yet this tour grab definitely would be the Holy Grail for getting them raw, hungry and devastatingly brilliant. Phil was brilliant like Porll and Andy. These three never get enough respect.🤷🏻♂️ Why do you think? Pls tell.
Because Robert is a narcissist.
@@djscott9207 How would that silly statement go along with how this lineup is underrated? Robert's never said anything negative about these band mates. It's fans and critics that don't give enough respect to this version of The Cure.
Norman Fisher-Jones is playing bass here. Phil left earlier in the tour as he had to go back to his studio to produce a Duran Duran album....Seven and the Ragged Tiger, I think
Tem banda que não precisa fazer firulas nem palhaçada pra ser estilosa, é só ficar parado e tocar. The Cure é único, nesse universo.
Best Cure line up , best Cure period , best Cure album , best Cure intoxications , best year for groupies - best musicianship within the band ... just down, downer , gloomy psychedelia which they´ve never been able to reproduce before or after ...
....Molto diverse !!!! Ma molto diverse....
Isn't that the first time he sang Piggy In The Mirror live in concert?
It is,first play
Robert fine af here lordt
El negro que toca la bateria lo hace muy bien
The great Andy Anderson on drums
I like this drummer more than Cooper, (Boris is still untouchable)
i agree, i'd even prefer Lol over Jason but ultimately Boris is "the" Cure drummer...if you look around youtube you can find a soundboard show with Vince Ely (of Psychedelic Furs) which is an interesting listen...he played a few weeks with the Cure during the transition between Andy and Boris in 1984...always interesting to listen to the different drummers and see how the interpret the songs
Cooper ruins the songs
This was the magnificent Andy Anderson, who passed away recently. A great musician who was very kind to his fans. May he rest in peace.
Agree.
cherchezlatrouble I liked him in drums very much.... I felt sorry he passed.
They play "Pornography" during one of the encores.....I don't think that song was ever broadcast in any version of this show. You can find it on CZcams....it's a badass performance!
I think it's the last performance of Pornography until the Albert Hall show from April 1986. Even that one was a one-off.....they'd only play it at Glastonbury 1986, the last couple of shows of the 1987 tour, the last couple of shows on the 1992 tour, and that's it until the Bloodflowers tour in 2000.
all those haircuts in the crowd are popular today with the kids!! Did the cure ever wear all black again for a gig after 1984?
❤
What a fine, dark and cool cat was Norman Fisher-Jones on bass.
He would have been a good replacement of Phil Thornalley and Simon Gallup for The Cure.
I feel bad for Lol as he only has 1 keyboard and Porl has one that he plays along with the guitar.
Is robert playing the woolworth guitar?
Muy jóvenes , Robert 24 años ? ❤
Smacky
Es Piggy un The mirror no in The middle
Who's playing Bass?
7:22
Is this with or without Simon Gallup?
Without
In this video the bassist is Noko, not Simon.
Simon Gallup doesn´t even understand what this bassist is doing .
where's simon?
This must be after the second riff with Robert... complicated tale but apparently a roadie friend of Simon's started singing on a song and was taking the piss out of robert and lol, prompting robert to toss some drumsticks at the roadie, so he left until robert asked him to return some time in 1984.
and PORNOGRAPHY ??
no Simon here...
Yup thornalley on bass who produced porno, luv the chorus effects and funky vibe he brings
Sloppiest I've ever seen them play.
Drummer is way too stiff ,I can’t even watch it
Jason Chasko no way, drummer is rock solid, absolutely nails 100 years which is a drum machine on the album, RIP Andy Anderson...
Andrew Reed , you gotta get a clue about laying back in the cut. That means the bass drum is never before or after the beat.Bonham had it and if you’re not familiar with that then you gotta sit down.
Jason Chasko that’s led zep, different band mate, played in sync with jpj, but that’s their technique for their style. Jpj would mirror riffs, this style became outdated, Metallica would not do that forexample . I’ve got some simple advise. If u want to listen to bonham drumming, go watch led zep. Yes he is a great drummer, but so is Copeland and many others, all different styles and techniques.
Um,yeah,I’m referring to Bonham because HE lays back in the cut.Doesn’t rush the beat. You might be too slow to understand what I’m talking about.Cheers
Check out Boris Williams, played for the cure after that black guy.laid in the cut, played everything perfectly but with feel and space, much better than that uptight black guy.
