A lovely StuG III very well restored and it is nice to see the interior that seems complete inside but I was a bit surprised that the driverwas wearing the original ear cuffs! Great, I wouldn't mind to drive it home and make my day! Good job and thanks for sharing your video 👍👍👍
Paolo Viti thanks!!
Panzer III didn't choose the Stug Life, the Stug Life chose Panzer III!
Thanks for the footage! Such an underrated yet highly effective combat vehicle. They're just so cool.
lol! Even the Panzer IV couldn't escape being Stuged.
@@gabrielarchange4680 This is true. However aside from being the O.G. (Original German) the Stug III was clearly the superior ambush vehicle. The Stug IV is a ponderous beast to handle and conceal.
Greetings from r/Stuglife
The Sturmgeschuetz III is a common and straightforward vehicle in most wargames. Thank you for showing me her complexity and quirks, lads! --Bob Bailey in Maine, USA
I drove Chieftain Tanks when I was in the army. This looks so much fun to drive!!!
Wife won’t let me have a StuG!!
Isn’t that abuse???
Definitely abuse! Report her, then remorgage the house
I found some guys in the UK that build replicas, asked them how much a stug would cost. They said about 72kUSD… so whenever i see someone with a fancy car i say they could have goten a tank XD
@@Lumine_Kai Parking not a problem too.
@@BrianWMay exactly XD
StuG crews didn’t choose the StuG life, they were drafted into the Wehrmacht lol.
An amazing video Thanks for sharing
Haha so what you are saying is “the StuG crew didn’t choose the Stug life, the Stug life choose them” ?😜
Have to say nicely said 😉
And thanks! If you liked this one, you might also like my other videos like “driving the Panther” - “Driving the King Tiger” - “kettenkradheaven” 😉
The sound from the first minute is not from StuG, but from Stuka =))
Thank you for this content, StuG is one of my the most favorite armored vehicles from the WWII
GREAT video! One of my favorites! You guys are so lucky! Engine sounds awesome!
Superbes machine bien restaurée. Ich liebe das.
This Stug invaded my heart. Beautiful machine. Big thanks for all involved in restoration and maintenance.
It's very rare that we get to see them shift gears, see the tank lurch forward and accelerate. I did see a panther whip through 3 gears it was awesome I wished I had saved the vid
Thank you for posting all this.
I Would LOVE to See A LONGNOSE Sturmgeschutz..Or Sturmgeschutz with the Side Armoured Plates..🤗🤗😍😍...But that StuG lll is A BEAUTY!!🤗🤗😍😍😍
Ah, another Bucket List item, to ride on or drive the StuG. I at least got to ride into battle wearing 44 Erbsen, armed with MG42, on the engine deck of Hetzer in 1992. Those spare road wheels look like a great seat for accompanying Panzergrenadiers. The Hetzer, I remember clinging by my fingers to the welded steel screen mesh on the engine deck venting.
It was really nice to see it up close. 👌
Thankyou for sharing this and others.
The start-up was very labor intensive!
It is indeed in my other video’s you can compare it with the Köningstiger and the Panther 😉 If you liked this video make shure to subscribe and hit the bell button to keep posted when a new video comes online
Great Job Guys it looks Great!!!
most underrated WW2 tank
Absolute beauty, isn't she?
My all-time favorite tank destroyer...oyeah 👍👍👍👍
Nice video and what a great job you guys have done with machine 👏😀👍
Really like the idea with both inside and outside view 👌
Fabulous video, thank you so much. Really evocative.
Great video and it helps out in making models.
This vehicle's been in Finnish service. Because at 08:22, at the bottom of the screen, one of the grey German connector boxes has been replaced by a silver connector. The Finnish miitary did that to their Stugs.
Those shots of the driver in position give a little insight into how deafening and tiring it must have been to operate one of the WWII-era AFVs in combat. Great video.
Im not sure of the driver would have been sitting in place during main gun firing it was most likely driven in place then camouflaged and shooting from the spot.
@@trollingmodeactivated2500 That may be true, but I wasn't even considering the noise created by firing the main gun. I was referring to the noise level that you hear around 8:45, when the Stug is just rolling down the road. I would hope that they utilized some type of hearing protection, but I doubt it.
Outstanding
Phenomenal. An simple, useful design, well preserved. Thank you.
Gorgeous vehicle!
Nice setting for the demonstration track. Looks very much like an East Prussian forest
Sooo nice!!!😉🤟😍😍👌👍🙏🙏
Perfecto 👍👍👌👌👌👌👌👌👌👌👌
that is a beautiful machine
Fantastic! Love this workhorse of war. Thanks for sharing, appreciate it a lot.

I thought that was you! :)
Very nice piece of hardware.
I have 5 and two to build....love em....low and deadly. ..hide in tall grass.

Como no amar el stug
haha, thats indeed hard not to ;)
4:58!!. Battle of bulge!!. idont know why but that scene reminds me of ww2 document!!🙂🏴☠️
Nice setting in a tidy forest. Would be even better with contemporary uniforms, and instead of the Einweiser, some Bolsheviks running away.
The high viz jackets slightly spoils the effect
I wish I could go right up to these German tanks and vehicles and experience their sound and ground vibrations! Fuck!!
German tanks with lots of edges are cool
They are indeed 😉 If you liked this video, make shure to subscribe and hit the bell button to keep posted. I also have other separate videos where you can see The driving experience of other tanks like the Köningstiger and Panther. There is also a new video coming online this week of a vehicle not yet beeing the subject on this channel so far 😉
Was it as quite in real life as the video made ot out to be? If so that is a very interesting aspect to the Stug and would make it easier to hide.
The noise is indeed lower then for example the Panther or King Tiger as you can here in my other video's. Standing close to it, it's a nice rumble ;)
My lovely tank from WoT. ))
Haha, I also use it on WoT 😜 If you liked this video make shure to subscribe and hit the bell button to keep posted when a new video comes online. Also have a look at my other videos where you can see more of tanks in action aswell as other cool vehicles like the Panther, Tiger 2, Sd.kfz 10, … 😉
Looks like it's a current machine
We received 59 of these from Germany to repel the Soviet invasion in the summer of -44
Wish I had a Sturmgeschutz..
Once these tanks and TD's were feared and hunted down to kill them, now they are hunted down to make them static displays, or to lovingly restore them into running order to show off to eager audiences who want to see them alive and well.....:)
Hard work to start that thing I understand that during the war only in an emergency were tankers allowed to use the electric starter to save battery life but dang can't they put a modern battery in.
Late version of "G" version😲 with "Schurzen" will look better😎
I love stug iii G the most !!💚
Why did they need the flywheel stater?
Surprising how small it actually is.
Sadly, we never see great shows like “Band of Brothers” but for the German Soldiers and the amazing things they did to fight survive. As a Retired US Army Infantry Senior NCO I’ll never decline respect to a Veteran who served his country in time of war, he faced the same fears we did and had things a lot worse than the Allied forces had in comparison. No, I will not praise the exploits of military criminals but those elements were a small minority compared to the Wehrmacht. Most Americans have German or Nordic blood in our veins since a huge amount of Germans immigrated to the US and settled huge parts of the middle of our country and in Texas as well.
You should say most Americans have German/Nordic/English/other British Isles blood in them. English are probably the most represented even more than German, but they are underepresented in the more modern census reports for a number of reasons.
All Northern European anyway.
Imagine, if they had made them with slanted frontal armor of about 60mm, like on the Hetzer, from the beginning.
Where is the museum situated? It is not Sinsheim, right?
The gun looks pretty impressive. What size is it?
7.5cm
@@jimmylight4866 thank you
@@2264ish No problem. It basically a PAK40 but adapted for use in the Stug. Very lethal gun. The Stug killed more enemy tanks then any other tank or assault gun in WW2 on either side.
Honestly, besides the panzer 3 and 4
This is the best the Germans had.
No it was just the most numerous.
is this in France?
No, this was the procedure to start it when not in combat, to save the battery. When in combat they could start it from the inside using the battery
@@WJHJ And now I understand, I just thought that for each launch you need to turn the handle. Thanks.
@@ChinenovSamodelki You can see in my other videos that for the Panther and the King Tiger it's the same principle
How much do you want for it?
V12 12.000cc Maybach 300hp
engine start sound like as stuka's silen...
How does it turn ? In fact how do all tanks turn ???
Depends
Is this running in Britain or Germany?
000max000 this video was shot in The Netherlands, Overloon at the “oorlogsmuseum Overloon”
What's the trident emblem for?
2nd Panzer Division Wehrmacht emblem from 1944-1945 and participator of the Battle of the Bulge!
@@whgespann OK I didn't know that thanks.
Please help! A question>> StuGIII is weather proof? Air tight/ water tight? Raining?? Rain would leak into the tank by the hatches/ main gun portal ?
No! Ask the creators of the Tank Hunter channel and the owners of this StuG.
You can see to the left if the driver what looks to be daylight next to where sprocket is spinning
Oh boy, you made my day. There are hatches on submarines too and you probably never asked the question about them.
You can see a flexible canvas cover that goes from the gun mantlet to the upper superstructure right behind it. This was used on later StuGs to help keep some of rain out. I'm sure they were pretty uncomfortable in foul weather.
@@johndillon8051 Beats dragging a pak 40 through the mud.
I want to see one firing inside and out so bad
Why do you think?
Well I’m only seeing it at low speeds, and it brakes on one side or the other to steer, which sucks because going uphill in muddy areas you can’t really steer. It’s obviously a medium or light tank, I can tell from the track it’s using , and those road wheels! They look better than when it left the factory. With that paint scheme it’s ready to be added to the nato inventory. Thanks for letting us see this well running vehicle!
