packerpf No, the creators of “Friends” have publicly acknowledged the influence of “Living Single” on their show. Queen Latifah has also talked about this. The premises are too similar to deny-friends and roommates in their mid-to-late 20s, living across the hallway from each other in New York City, in a sitcom format about dating, friendship, and all that life brings. Even the characters are exceptionally comparable. That’s not to say there is more inherent value in one over the other, but one has enjoyed much more commercial praise and monetary support than its counterpart. There is a long history of this phenomenon in American media and this example is no exception.

Living Single was the template that Friends was built upon. It's good to know what you're talking about 😂😂
I watch all of Farscape every 2 years. Glad we got the mini series at the end. Seriously good SciFy. Never watched any of the other shows. Never heard of most of them. LOL
So many good shows came out of the 90's! One that I loved was the Canadian show "The Odyssey", which ran from 1992-1994, and starred a very young Ryan Reynolds 😉
I don't think I have ever seen that series before, I will check that out.
Living Single is discussed and quoted by Black people all the time. We haven’t forgotten lol but thanks for this shout out!
Thank you!!!!! I just said that!!!!!
White guy here... Watched the shit out of Living Single as a kid. I was also a huge fan of the Wayans Bros. Show... " We're Brothers. We're happy and we're singing and we're colored"
Michael Orf same
Therry Thomas remember the episode where Sinclair has to dress as a clown and work on a kiddie show fun fact adam Wylie who played the little boy who was a diva lol Is on tiktok and super down to earth
Farscape is still a big thing. you can watch it on amazon prime and there is a watch party of it on twitch gigiedgleytv Gigi Edgley who played Chiana
Two questions I always had about _Pete & Pete_ :
1) Who gave a little kid a tattoo?
2) _That_ skinny guy was the strongest man in the world?
BTW, I’m surprised the narrator didn’t mention that the series began as interstitial programs.
farscape with Lexxx a close second!
Farscape, never forgotten! Go watch it now on Amazon Prime to convince them and the Henson Company to bring it back! All the original cast seem keen!
Loved Farscape. Owned ever episode on DVD.
I own the entire DVD Farscape Series, if you love Syfy watch Farscape!
Can u torrent it pls :)
Same. Entire series and Peacekeeper Wars on DVD.
Farscape one of the Best.
C'mon now i realize doubling up on scyfy would not be weighted correctly but LEXXX? Zev Bellringer yeah YEAH!!
AND “Friends” would not exist were it not for “Living Single.” Go watch it on Hulu! It’s still hilarious!
they were produced 11 months apart hardly can attribute 1 to the other when it would have been greenlit around the time living single debuted and take a year to film and get everything together.
Living Single was never forgotten, I don't know wtf they talkin about lol
packerpf No, the creators of “Friends” have publicly acknowledged the influence of “Living Single” on their show.
@@Quita615 Thank you
I remember 'Dark Skies'. It was great.
I keep farscape close to my heart. I watched it during a hard time in my life and it was one of the few things that put a smile on my face. Also, they totally need to remaster Babylon 5 like yesterday!
Surprised not to see Herman’s Head. Also, does anyone remember Woops! ?
I loved Herman's Head!
Herman’s Head was great.
Herman’s Head had Ross from Friends ex-wife as the romantic lead.
I guarantee “WE” did not forget about 'Living Single.'
Yeah, we remember "Living Single" every time its copy "Friends" comes on.
OK, buddy.
Living Single was a great show.
@Iron Man Asshole
Paul Allen 🤣🤣🤣🤣 Absolutely
I never forgot Eerie Indiana!
And I still love Are You Afraid of the Dark...
I'm glad it was at least mentioned here in passing, but I swear I never hear about Babylon 5 on any of these lists. Don't get me wrong, I love Farscape too, but I wish B5 got more love. Talk about forgotten shows.
Eerie was one of the best shows, was basically who's afraid of the dark/goosebumps mix. Half this list shouldn't exist.
Farscape is on Amazon Prime!!
Is it out on DVD?
Eerie, Indiana was my fave as a youngster! I still rewatch the episodes regularly, and I have all the chapter books (from the Marshall and Simon... i was never into the next dimension stuff later on)
Farscape is to this day one of my favorite examples of "Isekai" or "Trapped in Another World" story structure.
Pete and Pete was fantastic! Parker Lewis was also really good. Kinda weird that AYAotD would be included in an "underrated" list though...
I still have Farscape dvds so I beg a differ!
Farscape is easily the best show on this list. So under-rated. I would love to see the show come back, with John.
Parker Lewis Can't Lose was brilliant. Incredible writing and very well produced.
I remember most these shows. Nostalgia attack!
