  • On this Episode of Teach It Tuesday, Bryan Hale repairs the plastic support structure of the 1995 Chevy Impala project we are working on. This Plastic Armrest repair combine foam repair and plastic welding to create a strong structure that has been broken down over the years of pulling on the handle.
Our goal at GP is to make the things that you never see are just as well taken care of and built as all the finished visual work you enjoy. We like to leave it better than we found it across the board. We have been in business for 25 years because of this work ethic.

Could you also use an ABS slurry? Mix ABS and acetone and together, making 3 parts ABS and 1 part acetone slurry. Spackle it on there similar to Bondo, let is set up for approximately 30 minutes, and sand it back to shape.
Your method is probably quicker, but I think the ABS slurry might be a bit more sturdy.
Six to one, half dozen the other.
Your work is pretty top notch stuff. You are super quick at it as well. I spend about 2 to 3 times the amount of time to do what you do.

GP Rod and Customs the kind of door panels he make from the pvc sheets. Bryan makes them from scratch I believe. I’ve been seeing a lot of builds with the acrylic between two vinyl wrapped pieces. Like the armrests for example.
