Andy you are so great! I love your honesty which you cannot find somewhere else about academic stuff !
Cheers!
Hi Andy! I'm working on my PhD, but I'm thinking of quitting and applying to another master course in a different field and in another country. This video helped me consider additional alternatives. I wish I knew what you are saying in your channel when I was an undergraduate student haha. Anyways, thank you for this video and all your effort!🙂
Hi H.cho, would you mind sharing a little bit about what has motivated you of thinking to quit phd?
Many thanks in advance for sharing your opinion!
@@mrinmoyroy269 Thank you for your question!
Well, first, I just felt something was going wrong in my PhD life so I made them more clear by writing them down on paper. I couldn't tell you all of them here, but I wanted to know if other PhD students had/have similar problems.
I usually watched CZcams videos assosiated with academic careers or career change in general. Listening many people's opinions and thinking more deeply, I concluded that I need to leave my current lab. In this process, Andy's channel has really helped me a lot. For instance, when Andy says there are four signs that you should quit your PhD, I found that all of the four signs can apply to my current situation. I recommend you to listen and read as many as possible and compare them with your current situation if you're seriously thinking about quitting.
Thank you for reading and I'm sorry for not being detailed. I hope this can help you. And I'm looking forward to your
following questions or thoughts so feel free to make comment!
Hey Andy, can you make a video on ' How to sustain relationship during Phd'? I am talking about personal ones, not the professional ones.
Yes please
I am Asian and female, doing my PhD (my 6th university degree). I want to be called Dr not Ms 😂 Isn’t it legit?! 😆
Can you list the Science Communication short courses that you recommend? I am very interested in this topic.
Any tips for choosing committee members? Or your thoughts on paying for a dissertation coach?
I wish there was someone like you that made videos for other types of PhDs. I'm in the Humanities field.
Hi Andy!! How about doing a job after Masters before going to PhD? Do you think it might give a clearer idea of what topic I want to pursue Ph.D. on? I need some suggestions on it also from other people who have tried it.
Andy thank you very much for your vedio. I am 55 years old and I HAVE been thinking of doing professional PhD since I finish my masters degree in 2017.
I study biomedical science in my 1st and 2nd degree. Hope it is OK if I do Prof. PHD in this field ?
Maybe you want to explore a professional doctorate in healthcare management since you have deep knowledge and working experience in biomedical domain. You insight and a structure research journey will help you refine your applied research.
whatever you do... don't be a lab tech...
Why not? I just applied to such a position 😂😂
