    I work 6 days a week. Single, no "honey do" but me. I am furiously working to pay off my house. No big projects until that is done. I called TODAY to find out about the payoff, since its pretty low right now. In September my homeowners insurance will be due, and I want to pay it off before that. Because I want to drop the flood policy that they FORCE me to have. FEMA rezoned my house last year to a flood zone and so the insurance more than doubled. My mission is to pay off my house and be rid of that. I can then shop for decent homeowners insurance instead of the one that the mortgage company bullied me into getting. But the kicker to this story is that in September my escrow will be almost 10k. At the rate I am paying the payoff will be 15k. But they will not deduct the escrow from my payoff total!! I have to pay the whole thing off, and then in 30 days they will refund my 10k. Totally ridiculous!! I will never EVER get sucked into having a mortgage EVER again!!!

    • @BuzzRetirementGarage

    I could not tell from the video, but it appeared to me that some of your dead or dying trees were ash trees. A few years ago, all ash trees in our area were killed by the Emerald Ash Borer. If you have living ash trees that you want to preserve, imidacloprid is the key. It's a liquid soil drench that you apply once in the spring. Bayer's product is expensive, but there are other manufacturers that make it more economical to treat them. I have two large ashes that were saved by the application, Great video. Envious of the time you have to do yard work, but I am glad for the excuse of insufficient time to tackle my garage.

    Hi Buzz! I also stopped using Roundup when my dog got cancer. The vet had told me that she had seen a huge increase in pet cancers since people started using so much of those toxic chemicals in their yards. I now use vinegar like you do - it just doesn't last as long. I have aggressively growing poison ivy in many areas of my yard here in Virginia 😟

    • @BuzzRetirementGarage
      @BuzzRetirementGarage  Před 18 dny +1

      It doesn't work as well as Roundup but that's ok with me. On the flip side, I spent $1,100 over 2 years having an organic lawn service. Didn't help the lawn at all so I do 2 feedings of weed and feed. One in spring. One in late fall. The vinegar did work on a big patch of poison ivy but I had to hit it twice. Buzz
