"The Comic Artist" - UK Screen Printing

- After spending 25 years as a journalist in the UK including the BBC, John Patrick Reynolds left the world of news to pursue his artistic passion of screen printing in the form of vintage comics from his youth.
Being one of the first artists to procure a license from DC Thompson, for a number of comics including Denis the Menace as well as the popular French Comic, Asterix, John will poor over stacks of Annuals to find the perfect frame that can be lifted to create an entirely new "open text" meaning on it's own.
The process see's him scanning the 3 inch panel into the computer, enlarge them in the darkroom, using them to create 3 ft Nylon Stencils of the image, and finally applying ink, lightest color first onto the paper.
Over the past few years John's has been featured around the world including exhibitions in New York City, Paris, Scotland and many more.
