Trying to explain this to my 18yr old son cuz he admires my dishes and wants to cook for his new girlfriend. It was difficult for him to grasp my explaining of cutting of a steak/etc. Jumped online, pulled this up and he totally heard you. In 5 steak cooking trials this week he's been perfect. Thx for the everyday person explication. Especially the straws example. GENIUS! Subscribed!

He's using an allusion , which is a literary device, and making a reference to god doing miracles (doesn't necessarily mean he's a Christian). His comment about how he's thankful to Cooking with Rye, because he's doing a miracle.
