Very easy to understand, thanks for a thorough explanation.
Thanks!
I concur.
@@owengrant9066 I think so also too!!😂😂😂😂 What’d he say?!?! How about “Agree!”🥱🥱
4 yrs of culinary school and 15yrs in the restaurant business, and I have NVR had someone explain this concept so simply. Well done! And btw, ur straws visual aide was "Good Eats" level of awesome
Sad
Yes I loved that episode with the hose demo. Makes so much sense!
Hell yeah!!
Trying to explain this to my 18yr old son cuz he admires my dishes and wants to cook for his new girlfriend. It was difficult for him to grasp my explaining of cutting of a steak/etc. Jumped online, pulled this up and he totally heard you. In 5 steak cooking trials this week he's been perfect. Thx for the everyday person explication. Especially the straws example. GENIUS! Subscribed!
@justin berger The "good eats" reference made me laugh. My favorite cooking show ever. Not just "this is what to do" but also "this is why you do". Alton. Great show!
Thank you I've been confused for 40 years!!
Came here after watching Miranda's mistake in MasterChef Canada!

I always heard people say to cut across the grain, but not once did someone actually explain what that means. You are the first to properly explain it and now it makes sense! thank you!!!!
Never ever in my life was this explained so simple, logical and informative.
Annnnd another thing I've been doing wrong all these years. Thanks, Ry.
Not wrong...just 'different' :)

Finally, someone to watch who is just humble and genuinely loves the food. Well done Sir, well done
Now this explains why do my meat has rubbery texture. THANK YOU SO MUCH
It’s taken me years to understand this and was always too embarrassed to ask someone to explain this to me. This was the best explanation ever. Thank you!
Subscribed because instead of begging for subscriptions, you politely said for us to consider subscribing. ❤️ Fantastic, simple explanation!
He is like the country grandpa I always wanted lol. Very useful video and is exactly what I needed as a visual person!
Thank you :)
Very well explained. I don’t understand the 16 dislikes when you have explained it as simple as it can be. Thanks
They're probably crying vegans.
I was thinking the same

Kelsey Leigh I don't know if you really understand what he's saying, but he's not trying to force his views on others. He's using an allusion , which is a literary device, and making a reference to god doing miracles (doesn't necessarily mean he's a Christian). His comment about how he's thankful to Cooking with Rye, because he's doing a miracle.
@@eley666 wahhh cry baby
This guy would make a good teacher. Pleasant and easy to understand. He stays on point without alot of extra verbiage.
The straw demonstration really made sense. Thank you for this video!

Thanks hon! I knew about the grain thing but I wanted to see exactly how you're doing it. Been seeing since videos lately where steak is cut WITH the grain and it it's so tender. Trying to figure out what is going on and how this is possible. You're way is my way, my family's way so..... idk! Thank you soo much, hon! Another great upload! 🙌
My goodness that was such a great explanation and really appreciate the visual aids that you used to demonstrate this with. Must have went through so many videos that were stupid and just full on readings with no pictures or any kind of visuals to help. Im definitely gonna follow you for more tips. Thanks!
One more bit of information to help me reach my cooking mastery. Always followed this rule, but never understood why. Thank you.
Great explanation, clear and I like that it shows both with and against.

I’m the furthest thing from a cook or grill master but when I grill any meat I take some pride in it. To me it’s difficult to identify the grain but after watching this EXCELLENT video I honestly can’t wait to try your tips and tricks. Thanks for taking the time to explain and demonstrate the simplest way.
I have been trying to fully understand this and now I do, Thank You Sir.
This concept is really important to good cooking and it extends to vegetables (celery) and fruit (mangos) as well. Thanks for the great explanation.
Making an Eye of the Round roast right now and saw a recipe that called for cutting against the grain and was like WHAT????? haha thanks so much for teaching me how to do this right!
Excellent and easy to understand explanation. Your analogy using the straws solidified your explanation. The professor gets an A+ 😁
