We lost the dinghy at sea in the middle of the night!

  • My worst nightmare! Waking up in the middle of the night and discovering that our dinghy is missing! We pulled up anchor and set off in search of it and miraculously found the dinghy floating down wind on the ocean about a mile away. At that point one of our engines started indication it was over heating. We shut the engine down and limped back to the anchorage and spent the next two days working to resolve the issue.

"Nice work, I am so proud of you. Thank you for saving the day." That is an awesome quote. That is everything a guy wants to hear when he has done good work.

Bobby I'm 76 years old and I used to do a lot of mechanical work and we used to say always go after the simple first.😊

  • @ricksundberg5659

I gotta be honest, 4 hrs of labor every few months on your home isn't too bad. Amanda's crochet top wasn't too bad either. Glad you found the dinghy, that could have been expensive.

  • @HeyMichaelLeo

Finally a non-touristy video, one would think such gets old. Anyway, I watched the whole thing.

  • @Fox4_Travel

I've kinda missed this. The fixing , the dingy, and the loose wire . On your first boats ,this was going on all the time, and this is why I got hooked on this channel. You just never knew what was going to happen on sailing doodles. You've had it soft for a while Bobby lol. Well done though,

Bobby, I would double check your battery connections on both ends first. That clicking sound is usually caused by bad connections or low battery.

"Let us know if you guys see anything. We're looking for a dingy." Amanda's the best!

  • @g-man2045

Fixing things in beautiful places is the moto for Boats and RV's. I've owed both, currently RV. At least you got Amanda and the dingy back.

  • @jorgegregoratti

Well....at least you have a good sight, while repairing, looking to Amanda!!!...😂😂 ....great job Bobby..great job man....👏👏

This is one of my favorite videos! The realities of boating life - it’s not all margaritas and sunsets. It’s definitely a reality check for those that have a romantic view of boating in exotic places. Unfortunately boats have no where the reliability of autos. This is a good reminder video and should be done every so often… thx!

  • @markpeavy4005

So glad you found the dinghy! The downside of living in paradise! I watch a select few sailing channels and it's obvious you have to be mechanically handy (and have the correct spare parts) to "stay afloat". Great work, Bobby!

  • @allmo2009

Dude you stayed so calm. I wish I were you. I had my whole family stay at attention with tools in each hand while I was doing engine room yoga.

  • @steventrostle1825

Hang in there Bobby, I am sure Amanda is giving you lots of incentive 😘

  • @SALFXEF

I concur that the clicking sounds like a bad connection or a weak battery. You said that there was no water coming out of the exhaust and then after you change the impeller that lose wire would not stop the water from pumping

  • @toddgoettsch4869

Glad you found the dingy and got the pump fixed great job and best of all the Beer of choice Yeungling.

  • @dcidci1012

I feel for ya Bobby, Amanda your beautiful !.

  • @Toobula

Fellow 340 owner here. The location of those impellers is an absolute crime. Mercruiser should be absolutely ashamed.

  • @skyepilotte11

Lucky to find that dinghy, wow. Someone mentioned checking on the generator connections incl battery, good idea.

  • @markjensen3791

You gotta love engineer's, it's the same way working on Aircraft.

  • @gschnog

She is a great manager with the positive reinforcement :-) Emotional support is half the game.
