Nigga your voice is the problem not the microphone ☠️
Name of the small mic?
Tell me where did you bought the 1$ mic, and I am buying It right now
That feeling when a $1 microphone sounds better
nah you just want it to sound better cuz you cant afford a u87 LMAO
@@AGsosa
Are you making fun if someone who won't buy a 3000 dollar microphone when the 1 dollar one isn't much of a difference?
@@stevenstokes6306 I'm making fun because comparing a $1 microphone that was made in a sweatshop compared to a $3k item is an insult and comedy in itself
@@AGsosa insult to what? A corporation?
@@Emprah to all the components and labor used making the product.this dude literally said the $1 mic sounds better lmao stop acting dumb bruh but hey if you think it can compete that's all that matters right?😂😂😂😂🥱
You made that $1mic sound great.
Now thats a good heart ❤️
Dawg first of all autotune doesnt change the way a mic sounds once bit and second there is no autotune used in these videos the only thing hes done is eq it and use a compressor and some other basic stuff which doesnt always help the mic sound too much better than what it actually sounds like tho@@Cybersaurus5783
@@Cybersaurus5783 autotune doesnt change the quality of the microphone...
@@Cybersaurus5783 someone doesn't know what autotune is, I see
The fact is that even really budget gear for a home studio recording is 100x as good today as when we sat with our 4track taperecorders and layered 1 track at a time until you had over recorded it to pieces. Today It's all about knowing how to use a few good plugins and you can get really great results even you arent a pro in mixing and editing. And no matter who you are there arent an explicit facit list what makes a good mix
1 dollar mic with 10.000 dollars audio setup
That is not a 10 dollar setup
@@ooferdooferbruhi think they meant to say 10,000
@@ooferdooferbruh HAHAHHA
He used the 3000 $ mic too in the same setup buddy!
yea but its still a.... $1 dollar mic
the fact you can get that good of quality on the 1$ is actually crazy
ONLY with amazing equipment hes plugged that into it, think it like "processing and cleaning" the signal, bro has like 10k worth of equipment back there to make this mic sound good,
@@Romo2055fr we wanna hear raw audio
Yeah processing did probably everything here.
Tbh it’s more about recording technique and having a treated room
@@Romo2055I'm glad you pointed that out because I didn't even think about equipment he was using. I was too focused on the fact that it sounded too good to be true... him and mr crabs could've made a band together with the world's smallest violin.
Why the $1 microphone sound better than my $120 microphone 😭😂
Edit: I’ve gotten probably 30 responds I know he did something to the mic lol
😂😂 same here
try learn to mix your voice better
He’s a better mixer & in a soundtreated room
mix and master
EQ
With all that post processing it’s really not that apparent. This happens to just shows you that good mixing, eq and compression do wonders. REGARDLESS of what mic you are using! Tldr: learn how to mix. Happy holidays everyone.
exactly.
Ur delusional, no amount of mixing or mastering can do justice to cheap mics. You get ur money’s worth, that’s why expensive mics are in studios n $1 mics aren’t
U forget that The outputs (i.e headphones and studio monitors) help with this . And you actually need these to mix,eq, and compress properly. Sooo the mic doesn't matter but ur output and ur producing skills are the ones you need to keep.
You can have a terrible mic, but if you have terrible audio gear, it'll be difficult to achieve good sound regardless of mic quality
Me listening on a $4 earphone🥲🙂
😄😄😄😄😄😄😄😄
Get yourself a pair of 7hz zero for $20 bro! Much better
Doesn’t matter, you’ll still likely feel the difference
@@juelraj3901 bad build

As an artist and having worked in engineering - any mic with the right EQ changes can sound great and almost indistinguishable.
Then why buy a $3000 mic? I'll buy the dollar mic and the $3000 gear.
@@Daniel_Antonio_Arellano782 There’s no reason to buy a $3000 mic other than for ego
@@Daniel_Antonio_Arellano782 I'll say you don't really need that expensive gear today to produce a hit .. of cause it helps, but the way music is overproduced and often compressed to death before it's getting streamed on mostly lossy formats. Using even 1 miliion $ equip is kinda utter pointless.
I kind of agree. Although I think having a good preamp and a microphone with low self-noise makes your life a whole lot easier
Bro sings in cursive 😂
How tf is that 1$ mic better then the one on my school laptop
The microphone Ed was using in the video wasn’t a $3,000 mic. It was a U67 which is an $8K mic.
POV: *me rewatching until i notice a difference*
u still listening bru
the 2nd one has more clarity and is crispier
Bro you still listening?
Legend has it he's still listening.
You should to these comparisons with RAW audio without effects and EQ, so we can hear the actual difference
Im honestly super curious about that too.
Bro can you make the expensive mic tests at the end longer you have trapped me in endless loops
he have a full time and he chose to make it 1 second so much useless 🤣 and disgusting for real 🤢 no one gonna watch something annoying, regarding the content and his voice nice
maybe that was the goal)
@@sobzir_o **goes to history to willingly rewind instead**
Just download the video and listen to the comparison over and over without having to rewatch the entire thing
Bro the $1 mic sounds 3000 times better than my mic
It’s all about the mixing
Why on Earth does the $1 mic sound soo good 😂
I like how that's not how the u87 sounds like at all but with tons of eq and reverb you managed to make it sound like a behringer c1
Just processing made 1 dollar microphone sound good.
Now, take the Behringer C1 and reverse the process
Lol
The mic Ed Sheeran is using in that video clip is a Neumann U67, not a U87. The u67 is $7800, and the u87 is $3500. They look almost identical, but they sound different.
Plot twist, the 1$ microphone hasn't been recorded
Almost not that much? But still really obvious. Thanks for this!
Yeah but the compression gets bad on social media
what youtube left over is eaten up by your crappy audio gear and you still hear a difference
In a previous video the 1 dollar microphone was a 4 Dollar mic. It looks that the price depends on the video needs 🤦🏽♂️
shocked that 1 dollar mic sounds so good lol
Bruh if it this ain’t proof that microphone quality isn’t as important as we think I don’t know what is… this dude could literally plug his headphones into the microphone, sing into one of the ears, and still make that sound better than my $200 mic😂
Even after CZcams's compression the difference is massive. Texture, dynamic depth, tonality, grit. It's just so much more tonally rich compared to the cheap one.
the 87 is pretty much the best mic ever so yeah
Massive???
Nah man, the video creator eq'd the Neumann to sabotage its sound and improved the $1 mic through post processing to sound better
Yep I believe so, that fraud aint even respond to your comment 😅@darkozoric4184
Stop lying.
POV : "Me listening with 1$ headphones"
Me : "XD JUST KIDDING"😂😂
It’s crazy that a sound-proof room and good post-processing makes that big a difference
i like when he showed the 3000$ microphone
Maturity is when you realise mic don't make you better the vocal mixing does
Wow. It’s amazing what some EQ, compression, saturation, de-essing, reverb and cutting the silence can do. Quite a frustrating video but interesting and shows it’s not all about the microphone. The Neumann is much better quality for sure we all know that but please remember it’s all in the mixing - which is what he should be talking about in the video. On a side note - The TLM102 or 103 is a fantastic microphone, much more affordable too. I would also recommend the Rode NT1A if you are looking for a vocal microphone. I hope this is useful, happy mixing and always use reference tracks to get the best results! ❤
Quite so! Indeed any quality mic (which most today are!) can be made to sound indistinguishable from another of the same family (SDC/LDC/ dynamic/ ribbon etc.) Also, on the RØDE, I’d go for the modern NT1 over the NT1-A - more neutral, less sibilance, even lower self noise. 😊
+1 for the TLM102. Check out Serrano 87 if you want 87 capsule
None of those you mentioned fix a bad recorded sound.
This makes me feel a lot better about bedroom producing - except for the fact that I struggle with mixing.
Ain't no way the 1 dollar mic sounds that good
Ur videos are so high quality, here before ur famous :]
Thank you 🙏🏻
Real
The mixing really made a $1 sound better than my $100 mic
Those transients is everything
You're good at singing
Thank you so much!! 🙏🏻
@@EdwardSmithMusic yeah you're actually reallllyy really good at singing
Gostei mais do de 1 dólar 😂😂😂
Esse mais caro tem um agudinho a mais, o que não me agradou muito!
use a good earphone guys..... that $3000 sounds a lot more 3d and warm
The Fact That I never wanted to know bout this until the question was raised .......
his voice makes the $1 mic sound $30000
Its mixing.
Nah it's not his voice it's mixing
So my last job was working at McDonald's, but I got sacked aye, 'caus I ah stole all the cookin' oil, poured it all over the car park mate, turnin' it into a drift ring hey. People pullin' in for Maccas didn't even know they were participatin'. Man, never seen a Camry slide like that! Straight into the lamp pole mate, it was super mad.
The trick is no matter what microphone you use,its about what you do with voice you recorded
Honestly, this just goes to show how much mixing, audio processing, and good programs/plugins can do for audio. It can make very bad microphones sound fairly decent.
ngl first time i watched i didnt notice a difference cuz my mind was just like bruh -_-
Then I decided to re-watch with my eyes close and omg...
everyone saying "i cant hear a difference" that is the easiest way to tell whos musically inclined and who isn't
tbf once the music is processed, they sound pretty similar.
well it sounds better when u have all this stuff done to it like the filters you put on it
I literally hear no difference
@@CherryOnToppishno it isnt
that one dollar mic is the mic I use in all of my music and it actually sucks unless you're working properly with and a decent audio interface and and picks up noise af , although this mic has become close to my heart so even when I make it out I won't throw it away
you can check how the one dollars mic really sounds on my channel listen to any song I made .
It’s actually surprisingly decent. Better then my phone microphone 😭
The 3000 sounds nice too but ill stick to a 80 something dollar one for now lol
If this is real the people who actually bought the 3k one must be really mad right now
Bro you a beast with vocals and sound you have a ear 🔥
Honestly the fact that a one dollar microphone exists is pretty amazing. That said the more expensive Mike does sound significantly better to me.
That mix should come with a shock mount for that price..
the fact that its tiny and sounds basically the same whenn you compare it to $3000 but you can tell a huge difference
I didn’t notice a whole lot change from the 1 dollar to the 3000 dollar mic
goin down fr casually playing in the background
You have an amazing voice
You can hear the high end boost on the 87 lol
Not gonna lie the 3k one kinda sound just a little better coz why u can hear his voice a bit nicer and the speaking words sound is a lot more clear
Kevin De Bruyne.. Thanks for the review mate
Well from what I can hear there's no differences at all
I don't believe that audio came from the $1 mic because you don't hold something that far and get something that dry but ok maybe
Not a U87…. He’s using a u67. It’s a tube mic. They look similar but the price tag is NOT similar… u67 is about 8k for the reissue, and 20k or so for a vintage.
sitting for ages? then stand up and run, RUN!
you don't need 3000$ to make music, just 1$ microphone and 5000$ pc is enough.
Best 👍 video of the week.
We need more.
The 3000 dollar one has this weird like peak type thing
I bought that $1 mic somewhere for like $4.99 a few years ago... it still sounds good. You can even plug headphones into the other port
The 3000 dollar mic is obviously better but he made the cheap sort of more gimmicky mic work really well
homie has that skinwalker intro
It's NOT the Plane, it's the Pilot !!
Close your eyes and listen. At the end wow the sound!
Man the $3,000 mic just has more sound pickup ability
I just noticed more compression on the second one, otherwise - the sound is the same)
The Neumann can be pushed into whatever direction tonally you want, which is why it's fantastic. The shitty little microphone sound awful here. It sounds like the weird telephone vocal effect on every Indie Rock vocal in the early 2000s.
An interesting video, although I'm sure Mr. Smith did not mean to imply that the toy mic is the equivalent of a Neumann U-87AI. But it is interesting how, with enough processing, the toy mic was able to sound reasonably good. So why use the Neumann? Well, pattern control, shock mounting, low noise, low distortion, wide dynamic range, really wide frequency response, proper output connections, etc. Not to mention that the Neumann is a worldwide industry standard.
The 3k one sounds really clear, but the 1$ one is pretty fuckin good for 1$, but then again he's prob running it through some mixing
I'm pretty sure the one that Ed Sheeran is using there is a U67 which is the vintage tube version and a lot more expensive and rarer then the U87Ai
You sound good ❤
It’s all about the recording process and mixing.
No matter which mic we use people will listening in
The 1 dollar microphone actually pretty good! Where did you get that
procedes to put about 10 plugins on the channel
Where do you get the small microphone? HAHA Twas actually pretty good.
you should be happy, in the $3k they didn't even give you the windshield! 🤣🤣
What did u out there for plugins this is crazyyy sounds hard
It feels like you're watching in 60hz monitor vs 240hz monitor
Nah bruh why my 300 dollar headphones sound like a cat getting skinned alive but yours 1 dollar mic sound like a youtubers mic
Don't matter which mic you are using.
You need to have good voice 😊
The $1 mic sounds good! But the $3,000 mic ..another level.
decent pre amp stahe and a da converter the technology in both mics is simmilar with one being an electret and another one being a bigger version of it
Amazing! Goes to show how much a good enviroment and EQ can bring you. The only thing that lacks is overall bitrate quality and stereo
I’m gonna need a mic stand for that 1 dollar microphone 😂
Love the singing❤
Thank you!!
Could you add where to buy ?
Quick bit of info for those who don't know a whole ton about audio. Assuming the $1 audio wasn't complete bogus, which I believe it is, there was heavy audio processing in both takes. CZcams also has massive compression on top of your headphones/speakers and whatever those are plugged into distorting the sound. Even programs like Spotify don't always offer lossless audio even if they are much better.
You can do a lot with audio processing but most of it will be limited to pre-recorded takes and you'll be very limited for anything live such as shows or voice calls and depending on how much live audio processing you have it can be quite heavy in your computer. It also takes a good bit of know how and even then a lot if time to get a bad mic to sound professional. 3k is abhorrently expensive for anyone but the 1% and enthusiasts and professional quality audio can be had for $100 from the at2020 which you will need an audio interface for where decent/good options will be around $70-110. So the entire kit including a xlr cable and mic stand up to around $200-280. BUT you do not need this to start. Any old mic even og apple earbuds will do, the important thing is to make your content be it music, voice acting, or anything else. If you want a cheaper upgrade usb is an option but please dont spend more than $80 on usb as if you go higher you may as well just save a bit more for the kit I mentioned.
There is a bit more to all this and it might seem overwhelming but it's really quite simple with a tiny bit of research.
My phone was in my pocket, didn’t notice a change
