People were sitting in prison for 10+ hours, ofc they will complain. Zero communication
if this shit was implemented at the start of the server it will not be that bad or before implementing it 5 months in atleast reset the debts of somw people or before implementing it give the city warning 1-2 weeks to clear theirdebts cause a new system will be implemented
This. It should have been an early implementation. Same goes with the rule of 6. It should have been a rule of 4 and then expanded like it was in 3.0. More money for when it's less ppl.
i love buddha so much but honestly L take. The new debtors law is actually fucking stupid. It makes probably 30% sense and the other 70% it doesn't. Which if something ain't broke don't fucking try to fix it. I'm down for trying new things, but maybe specify to people it's only temporary to see how things work, not just go straight into shit without maybe mentioning shit.

Couldn't most of the outrage been avoided if there was communication about how things will work with the players beforehand. It seems like there is a lot of complaining about the "doom spiraling" but NoPixel had the power to cut it off before it started.
Yes it 1000% could be avoided with even the slightest bit of communication but as kdot says... they dont know nothin bout that...

Are people “just bitching” or were they unfairly ambushed by a new system with no communication? Not every complaint is invalid because you don’t like complaining in general. Sometimes your team fucks up and people have the right to tell you. Honestly, in this clip it seems like he’s more annoyed at being blown up on social media than anything else.
When everyone freaks out because of what you're saying, you're either saying something worth freaking out about or failing to communicate your ideas effectively.

Isn't there an old GG member that was perma banned because he was on Discord while on the server? Meanwhile every big streamer watches meta clips while also involved in those situations and nothing happens to them. You even have certain streamers in other peopels meta discords. Also tons of them literally sometimes accidentally don't mute Discord and are clearly on Discord while on the server or you see their Discord is open. Meanwhile this guy was downed in-game too and couldn't even meta even if he wanted too.

a mfer in NP 3.0 was handed down a sentence of 180 years in prison and a 12m fine. I wouldn't trust anything dogshit NP has up it's sleeve.

You should feel bad for the state of the server too because this will mean everyone will get even sweatier to avoid debt. Former ''fun characters'' will turn into ratty drivers and cop shooters.
I think the issue here is twofold. First, it should have been implemented from the start OR at a minimum given people a heads up of the change so they could adjust. Second, the server already feels incredibly grindy so this makes the need to grind even higher. I get the reasoning behind this but it feels like it was implemented without consideration of these two problems.
One of the worst things about this server is how devs implement changes without any concessions, communication or compensation for how it negatively affects players. You can spend hours per day working towards something and the next day it be completely taken away because the devs dropped an update.
Most of the time it's not creating rp it's rather shutting down rp scenarios.
How did this go through multiple people and still end up released. Make it so if they are in debt they have to pay off the charge they went to prison for. Its still aids but does what you want which is punishing content
What do you expect when there is zero explenation? You cant be shocked at a reaction based on the facts given.
What do they expect when they IMPLEMENT something that they KNOW is unfinished and broken. Not to mention it doesn't take a rocket science to realize that this system just encourages grinding, no one needs to "let it cook" to know that.

Its a bad system. Buddha as kind of the Face of 4.0 has to talk positive and show a united front, but even he has to know that Debtors prison is dogshit.

Well I think that was true with the old efficiency of debt clearing but DOC changed it to be better and also DOC members can clear thousands of debt if they want to and knowing the rpers that running prison atm I doubt it won't be good content. Tbh if you want more clarity watch Blau's DOC podcast episode from earlier today to hear what they have planned. Honestly it sounds like an extension of clown content.

Buddha literally said in this video they wouldn't force people to spend crazy amounts of time in jail.
The thing is they should payback the dept whenever they have one, not stacking it up and expect no consequences for not paying.
They made this rule happen because everyone not paying the dept and nothing happens to them, they just keep stacking dept indefinitely.

The debt system makes sense to me, what doesnt make sense is being in debt to the state and not having any repercussions from that, if you are fined you dont care because your already a fuck ton in debt.
Sure you cant use your bank account but working off the money you owe the state is a good comprimise and makes sense rp wise, it also makes being caught for crime alot scarier and gives the pd a bit more presence which is much needed.
Just needs some tweaks so that your not forced to have jail rp (which can be good rp if you embrace it) for an exorbitant amount of time.
I agree with let the devs cook, and i dont think the debter system is inherently bad. however in the current state its messed up. from what i have seen people are reporting 'making' 1-3k an hour in prison. So if someone is CURRENTLY -100k in debt and get caught for speeding they are going to be forced to work 30+ HOURS in jail to get out, even if your sentence was only 8 minutes. people complain that every1 on the servers are grinders and not RP's and this( in current visible state) is only going to make this x10 worse.

I agree with the rest though but yea having been on np since end of 2.0 they consistently have done stupid changes like this and not consulted or adequately tested prior to launching there changes. @@Zed-cb8yz Thats part of it yes, but not doing dumb shit is another part of it, proper resource management is also part of it. If prison is barely a punishment, fines is barely a punishment, then if you combine them, you may get an actual worthwhile punishment.
No more -1M bank account, no more running around with -negative bank accounts, no more keeping a house with unpaid bills.
Honestly they should implement a Red Flag system for a changing amount of deposits in a Tsunami. If they pass 4 Red Flags, the automatic bank account subpeona.

I'm the name of balance it would be awesome if there were prison exclusive items you could "smuggle" out that were needed for heists. I think crims need incentives to sit in prison. That may also help with win chasing crims on the server

@@musicbox6144 feedback can come from all sources be them spectators or live users, many people whom rp on other servers watch nopixel. Its also widely done irl too by manufacturers of almost everything
To be fair they released it, and the first words were it takes forever to earn money and there wasn’t much info about the other ways to clear debt. I just think with something as major of an update as that they should just explain more in the patch notes about the full plan and at least add something like don’t worry you won’t rot in jail forever. I just think communication from devs to players on major changes like this would make everyone’s lives better.
It seemed like a terrible idea at first but after watching carmine and his "sneaky" debt erasing arc, this is great rp. Those who don't know watch carmine's stream, but who knows how long it will last tho 🤷🏼♂

the jail update is cool its just the debt thing that has people worried, plus if they do keep the debt law itll make people wanna grind more and not risk getting caught by police overall i see the debt law as an L addition but everything else in the update is cool

have to remember when the opinion of things happening is way different when you're just a normy. Once you are behind the driving wheel of things 99.9% you will forget how life is on the other side of things.
I get it but there is a balance you got to put in place between real life and it been a game/RP server right now it seems to be very grind heavy. Lack of communication is Nopixel is it's biggest flaw. With regards to debt they should make it a job where someone can be a debt collector instead of just randomly throwing them in prison with no RP leading to it.

I think the issue is, they could have added that into the patch notes. Like at least say there will be roleplay scenario ways to remove debt and they will balance it so people aren’t in jail for unreal amounts of time so at least when it goes live and it’s not balanced people don’t doom spiral.
@@chrisi1466They did add that to the patch notes. The notes literally say that the warden and prison staff can take money off the debt.
They already let the "yes" guy rot in jail for 20 days, so it's completely understandable why people fully believe they'd let unconventional characters just rot in jail. Moreover, even 3 days is too long... you think they're fixing the system in 3 days? Yeah, right.

Koil, xQC, and Buddha are the server owners, but pretty sure beside Koil, Buddha and X rarely input anything in the updates, and enjoys the updates on what the 'devs' put in the game.
The prison update sucks, but it's still fresh and new, so maybe it's still cooking. I say, let the devs cook.

The people I seen complaining weren't true crims at all, its the wacky zany types who want to do dumb shit and tell cops to go no holds barred on them and intentionally self nerf themselves e.g. using an RV as a getaway vehicle or self snitching for the luls.
The complaint were more along the lines of they'd be forced to conform to being more like the normal criminals or grind for hours just to do fun content for others where the intention is eating the L at the end.
