  • Ordinary moments have extraordinary meaning. In this moving and sweet talk, Kelly Krenzel shares how working in her Grandma Freda’s flower beds as a young girl sparked an idea for a non-profit that is now bringing joy to hundreds of people in her community. She also explores the magic of joy and explains how being open and compassionate in even the smallest ways can leave a lasting impact on people and communities.
Kelly started Hope Blooms, a budding non-profit that recycles flowers, to spread hope, happiness, and emotional healing to those facing difficult times. As a marketing and communications specialist for Hospice of the Red River Valley, Kelly Krenzel focuses telling the hospice mission through those who have experienced it firsthand. She is truly moved by the small, but beautiful moments she has witnessed among hospice patients and their families and staff. Inspired by this work, the love for her Grandma Freda, a bit of a green thumb and incredible amount of compassion for others, Kelly started Hope Blooms, a flower recycling project, to spread joy, happiness and emotional healing to those facing difficult times.
Kelly grew up in Bismarck, N.D., and moved to Fargo 15 years ago to earn a mass communications degree from MSUM. She met her now husband, Scotty, at a local pizzeria 5 years ago, and the two have been adventuring ever since. In late 2015, the pair embarked on their biggest adventure yet with the arrival of their son, Henry Fisher. In her spare time, Kelly loves being with family and friends. This talk was given at a TEDx event using the TED conference format but independently organized by a local community. Learn more at www.ted.com/tedx

She's such a simple person. Nothing fancy. She's so joyful ! What saddens me is that it's one of the least viewed tedx talks :( I dont know what people wanna listen to. Spreading love and kindness has got to be the highest purpose one can serve ! Hope the masses realise it some day.

Many years (one day at a time) sober now, I take joy in seemingly little things. And never miss a 'small chance to have a moment'..hey, and speaking of small, how'd this lovely lady only get 6 minutes??
