- See More Garden Goodies: www.WisconsinGarden.com - - - Today I’m creating some bug balls to share as a unique gift for my Cedarburg High School yearly class of 1965 picnic reunion. In addition to having a Pot Luck luncheon, we have a gift exchange where you have to option to pick a new gift off the table or steal one already picked by someone else. I decided to paint lady bugs on golf balls where I glued tees to the bottom so they could be used outdoors, as well as, in house plants as little works of art. I don’t remember if I saw this idea someplace else but this video demonstrates how I decided to create these baby bug balls from scratch. Now I have many other little critter ideas that will be perfect for this set up.
So adorable
Happy Saturday, HoneyBeeBuz. They were fun to make and lots of fun to give away too. Have a great day and hope our spring gets here soon. Keep the love growing Lynn & Richard www.WisconsinGarden.com
As always my wife and I, love your program and this time it was Bug Balls, what fun, thanks for making all of smile. Blessings!!!
We had fun putting these packages together for my High School girls picnic. Glad you appreciate our silly humor. Thanks for watching and sharing. Lynn & Richard
Very clever Lynn and what a brilliant idea. You are a pro at this craft stuff. I do love lady bugs. They are cute.
It's always a challenge to come up with a fun yet silly idea for our CHS girls picnic each year as was this one. Thanks for watching and sharing. Lynn & Richard
They look so great all together in a group - it's like the real ladybugs when they come out of their winter hibernation spot. And now they will disperse to different gardens, just like real ladybugs, too. : )
It was a fun and creative project that was enjoyed by all. Thanks for watching and sharing. Lynn & Richard

The girls at my class picnic enjoyed them as well. Thanks again for watching and sharing. Lynn & Richard
Oh Lynn
I think those bugs are Sooooo cute. !!!
I once did the flat oval rocks and made owls and took small branches from trees ,mounted the branches on a piece of wood with a little bit of moss, glued on it,glued the owls on some of the branches .glued a little Moss here and there.
They looked so cute and everyone liked them.
At one of our white elephant games I made a stuffed white elephant, and that little guy was passed around for an hour. I was glad when the game was over.I thought they were going to fight over him. They are a lot of fun!!! Big hugs JoAnn🐞
My high school girlfriends loved these little golf balls. We add them to our indoor plants just for fun. Thanks again Joann for watching, caring and sharing. Lynn & Richard
I love that you both do it together, I would have loved to seen them in the garden too
Hi Esper. There were fun gifts to add to the potted plants we gave to family and friends. Perhaps we'd have to use something larger, such as bowling ball, which we have, in and around the garden or those little golf balls would never be seen. It was, and is, a fun project.
We hope all continues to go well for you and yours. Again, we truly appreciate your support at this time. Stay safe and thank you again for staying in contact and for watching, caring and sharing. it's a great time to catch up on our missed garden adventures at www.WisconsinGarden.com - #KeepTheLoveGrowing - Lynn & Richard
WisconsinGarden I see and you are right the grass would grow over them I’m sure. Thanks and happy crafting to you
TKS Lynn & Richard
Very cute! Your so creative and fun!
We love to have fun and try out new ideas like these. Thanks for watching and sharing. Lynn & Richard
I was thinking one of these would be cute in a Fairy Garden. I like miniature plants. They fit in nicely with Herbs.
You are so creative! These are adorable! Thanks for sharing! I'm not used to seeing you with your pretty jewelry on, you looked very nice!
Awe how sweet. Thanks for watching and sharing. Lynn & Richard
I don't know how I missed this video. They are adorable. I will need to load up on golf balls/tees as this would be a great Winter project for me. The box was great too! Also, for the pig, I would like to throw out 2 names. Persephone or Poopsi :)
Thanks for the kind words of appreciation. So far we have Persephone, Poopsi, Petunia, Pepper, Curly Lambeau, Winnie, Peter, Milky, Henrietta, George & Percy. We will see how many more entries we receive and perhaps ask all of our viewers to vote on a favorite name. Thanks for watching and sharing. Lynn & Richard
Such a cute idea! Thanks Lynn :}
It was fun and my High School girls got a kick out of them. Thanks for watching and sharing. Lynn & Richard
I think one with bloodshot eyes would be appropriate for golfers.
FOUR! Cute. Thank you for watching and sharing. Lynn & Richard
Lol! Fore!
Enjoyable thank you.
Thanks for watching and sharing. Lynn & Richard
it was very interesting
It was a fun and silly project. Thanks for watching and sharing. Lynn & Richard
my neighbor's take my vegetables and leave money in a bucket over next to my back door everything from okra to tomatoes and asparagus. and they're giving me market rate. they say that my vegetables taste better then the grocery stores and that they feel better once eating them. I tell them that my vegetables are loaded with minerals because I grow them 100% organic
We agree wholeheartedly. You truly deserve every dollar and more. As you well know, nothing tastes better or even comes close to healthier home-grown food. When you consider how food is mass grown with chemical laced seeds and sprayed herbicides, picked weeks before its prime, then shipped on average 1,600 miles, it's amazing people have faded from urban farming. Hope you get to Google "Will Allen - Urban Farmer" a true local hero. Thank you for watching and sharing. Lynn & Richard
2 part epoxy is a good choice...cheap and incredibly strong!..Percy the Pig!..Put 3 eyelashes on the female ones!...Rich those boxes make it so professional!!!! Great Going!
Didn't Richard do a great job. I wasn't expecting him to do that for me. He just disappeared, went to his computer and then downstairs to print. Made the entire project look so much more professional. So far the entries for my pink pig are Petunia, Pepper, Curly Lambeau, Winnie, Peter, Milky, Henrietta, George & Percy. We're still waiting to see how many entries we receive and then ask all our viewers to vote on their favorite name. Thanks for watching and sharing. Lynn & Richard
These are adorable!! Have you tried it with ping pong balls? They may be too light?? I love them!! Good work, Lynn! And the boxes are cute too, Richard!!
Hi Addie. They were party gifts for my high school reunion and where a lot of fun to create. Yes, ping pong balls would be too light and it's amazing how many used golf balls you can buy for just $1.00 which are perfect for this project. Also a great classroom activity for children. Thank you for watching, caring and sharing. Lynn & Richard
Never heard if these were a big hit or not????// Let us know!
I would say they were a mild hit. Many of my CHS girl's High School classmates at our yearly summer don't or no longer golf but they did get a kick out of them. Who knows, they probably hid them in their hubby's golf bags, or stuck them in their house plants. Any way, I prefer to bring something different and handmade to our gift exchange. It's just fun being together each year. This has given me hundreds of other ideas as well. It's fun. Thanks for asking. Lynn & Richard
Do you have to strip the shime off the ball before you paint it?
Hello Patsy. I wash them well and then lightly sand them before I prime them. When dry I begin to paint and have fun. They were quite a hit with many golfer friends as gifts we added to their plants. Have fun painting. Thank you for watching, sharing and caring. Stay safe. Enjoy fall and have a great week playing in your garden. Lynn & Richard - www.WisconsinGarden.com
@@WisconsinGarden Thank you. I will prime them this time.
Nothing is perfect
Agree - Not even my bug balls. Thanks for watching and sharing. Lynn & Richard
What is that annoying sound?
Hi Mateo. While filming you probably were hearing either our dehumidifier or furnace fan in the background. We're sorry you found it annoying and will do our best to avoid it in the future when possible. Thanks for watching, caring and sharing. Lynn & Richard
Thank you for clarifying. By the way, SUPER creative!
