One of the greatest shows of all time
May 77 Sugarees are very very special. This one in particular and New Haven are the best ever.
Shake it shake it…Sugaree 🌹
Smiling so hard right now
Jerry's voice is so beautiful on this one
This version of sugaree is probably the first one I heard 20 + yrs. Ago and it is still makes me hypmatizies me to no other version ,5-22-77 , a magical day in music history , COSMIC
It's so tight and yet so loose at the same time.
Officially my favorite Sugaree!! it blows my mind how far away it takes me every time. I wanted to share that with my friends on YT because we have and had special ties to the band. We've seen, we've listened and we've KNOWN.
Wow. Incredible
some of the truly epic dead ever
This and Hartford CT 1977 are magic versions.
I am getting chills down my spine as I listen to this, especially starting at around
this is Gr8fuldead supernova; the absolute best concert that has ever been played in this universe.. I will take it 2 grave I have never heard anything with such flow. the complete show is a masterpiece.. that is my opinion.. bookends I call it , were from 1st - 2 the last note
that little riff at
every time I despair of hearing another monumental "sugaree" and I thought I'd heard them all....another one appears!
Fire Most Jer
I remember the first time I heard this recording. One of the many times I've put on a Dead recording with no expectations and then said "Wait, what?" as, before I know it, the band has tapped into an absolutely cosmic timbre. Halfway through the first solo, I immediately had to rewind because I kind of couldn't believe how quickly they blew it open.
I have struggled long and hard over what is the peak moment of the Grateful Dead, which is of course extremely hard when you start thinking about the genius put out in '69, '70, '71, '72, '73, '74, '77, and '78. Yes, there are St. Stephens and Dark Stars and Other Ones and Dews and Eyes and [Insert Name] Jams galore, but it all came down to this and 9/3/77 Half Step for me, and tonight, but probably not next week, I have decided that 2nd solo of Sugaree this night starting around
Fire!
This version is volcanic. How many times does Garcia solo? Holy smokes!!
