Orioles should package Hays in a trade for quality relievers at this point.
They can't dump all their right handed batters because teams will throw their lefties at them in the playoffs and make them hit into their own huge wall, just like Texas did. The should have traded Santader before the start of the season because he's gone any way.
@@CasiodorusRex doesn't matter if he's right handed if he's only gonna get 1 hit every month. But yeah, he's prob untradeable anyway.
Can't wait to see tonight's lineup card: Henderson, Rutschman, Santander, O'Hearn, Westburg, Cowser, Mullins, Kjerstad, Holliday with Grayson on the mound. I need a nap so I can stay awake tonight!
What position will Kjerstad play?
@@CamKrazy2000 1B
The lineup just came out.
O'Hearn is playing 1B, Santander is DH and Kjerstad is playing right field hitting 8th.
I think the Orioles will put up a very big number tonight.
Could reach double digits.
LET'S GO O'S!!!
Love the content Connor! Best O’s pod out there!
Connor love ur channel would love to get more people exposed....u should try to colab with the other local tubers like bobby baltimore or ryan ripken.....i think it would be good for you and good for them bec your very knowledgable and its great for us cross over fans
Plz no.
It takes spots like these starts from Suarez to win division
that's right
Cano saved the O's butt big time.
Suarez is keeping the walks down for now, so it's nice at the moment.
I totally agree about Baumann. We need to have a 7 run lead when we bring him in. We gotta have better than Baumann.
We should have traded some players for Dylan Cease. Burnes, Cease, Rodriguez, Braddish would have won us a World Series.
Connor try to link up with the Ryan Ripken show one of these days !
That would be better then the Flintstones jetsons cross over , we need Connor on rip after dark 😂😂😂 💀
I think he's employed by the locked on group and might have conditions that don't allow for that. Would be cool though.
It Might be the last time we see Austin hays in an orioles uniform
Bauman needs to go! He has absolutely no control... Sad! He has good stuff.
He's a likely candidate when Wells comes back.
O's should still trade for another quality Starter like Gilbert.
Pretty much all lefty outfielders will be interesting to see how Hyde manages that
Honestly....the O's depth of offensive firepower is SCARY. Sadly, some are obviously gonna leave via trades for pitching, but DAMN do we have weapons!!!
I think Suarez was even better than the numbers Mon. night! Had quite a few third strike pitches on the corners but didn’t get the calls behind the plate.
Mailbag quickie: is there a difference between the different ILs (10, 15, 60)? Besides the minimum time you must stay on it
Kjerstad was the number 2 pick overall in the baseball draft a few years ago. He has tremendous upside with that bat & should not be taken for granted. I know this will shock a lot of people but I would want to see him in the lineup everyday if not this year then definitely next year. If that means they have to move a player or somebody has to walk because of it then so be it.
Dudes got like 10 HR and 30 RBI's in like 15 games. He's like an Adam Dunn. O'Hearn & Santander are gone after this year and so is Urias. Kjerstad, Cowser and Holiday take their jobs.
@@CasiodorusRex That's when the Orioles could become the dominant team in the AL & make people ask "who are the Yankees again, remind me"
Suarez have been great. Hope he continues this through the season. Tough year for Hays so far. Kjerstad up. Times they are a changing
Mail bag question- Lately (some) fans have been complaining about Hyde pulling starts mid 5th inning claiming it hurts the pitcher because they can't claim the W. I personally think pitcher Win/Loss records are pretty meaningless. I'd love your take. People are even irked by Hyde having relief pitchers split innings. I don't see any issue with that either. Thx!
he admits it, he has a competitive side
Mailbag question - Do you think there’s any chance the O’s exercise Kimbrel’s option for 2025? Even if he ends up more towards his career averages than his excellent start of season, the option year seems like great value.
Good possibility if something happens with Bautista's rehab. Bautista is throwing 100 so he's going to take the closer roll.
Im not a GM, but im good with waiting on Means and Bradush to have our pitching look the way it does. Im also sitting here seeing Trout and crying for bro to play on a winner.. idk if this trade would help either team. But Orioles could offer Angels Ramon Urias and/or Mateo, INF Norby, OF Beavers, OF Fabian, P McDermott, and another P like Armbreuster and still not touch top 5. Thats 3 top 10 prospects and could revamped Angels system overnight, give them two quality MLB players now. For Orioles Trout move to RF, Santander DH. Cowser LF Mullins CF. Kjerstad should be DH/1B backup to Mountcastle and Ant. Or move Kjerstad back down or move Ohearn after this year. Westy, Gunnar Holliday can play more everyday. We got some logjams coming up with OF prospect behind the Kjerstad Stowers Bradfield Mayo i think should untouchable. I will just go play on the The Show with this roster 😂it would never happen
Saurez was excellent again! For me: He stays until he shows otherwise. Irvin belongs in BP where he was successful and has less chance to self destruct.
Hey C N Why are the Birds using the friday black jersys on the road 1970 home whites best Oriole cap jersey combo ever
If Povich keeps this up it’s going to be hard for Os to keep in AAA. How long till Povich gets the call? If everyone gets healthy and stays healthy, who do you think is in the rotation in say June-July?
I like him, but I worry about his control. He's walking batters nearly 4 per 9 for his career. I like him, but is he really ready?
Connor, just a thought...What are the chances that Hays could get sent down when he comes off of the IL., and Kjerstad becomes the O's 4th OF?
Almost zero. We value defense too much. Hays will be allowed to fail for quite a while. You don't demote someone who was an All Star because he's struggled at the plate for 3 week.
I actually thought Norby might finally get the call....righty for righty.
Norby's been in AAA succeeding longer than any of the prospects.
He's been playing second base
@@afguy79 This season in Norfolk, he has 12 games in the OF, 7 at 2B.
@drewc771 yeah the outfield starts were because Holliday was playing 2B.
Now that Holliday isn't there, Norby is not really playing outfield anymore.
@@vaughnjb True. But he still can play the OF and I was thinking righty for righty. But this certainly works too. I wonder if they're slated to face a bunch of RHP coming up.
@drewc771 the Orioles due lack right handed bats.
Didn't talk about the elephant in the room. When does Holliday get sent down?
To bring up Norby?
I'm not sure what Kjerstad's role will be. He's a lefty so he's not gonna take away Cowser's playing time. Or will he take away O'Hearn's playing time as a DH or 1B with the way he's been crushing the ball. I guess he can take some playing time from Santander at RF but Tony will still be in the line up at least 4 or 5 days/week.
The got Mountcastle on day to day as well. O'Hearn is playing 1st. Kjerstad will DH or play RF.
If Cowser continues to produce, Hays will finish off the year on the bench. Tough luck for him cos isn't he a FA at end of year? Also, isn't Santandar a FA as well? Kjerstad will replace Santandar in 2025.
Hays and Mullins are signed through the 2025 season.
Santander has only this season left.
Suarez's two starts have been against the two teams with the worst offense in baseball. Let's see what he does when the lineups get competitive.
As long as he doesn't walk people, he's got some good pitches.
Holliday needs more time in AAA...he's just not ready...
Cowser and Henderson both struggled in the beginning.
Move Mayo up too. Westburg to 2nd.
LOL, where are all these guys playing? The Orioles need to trade some players for some shut down releivers or starters.
If Heston plays well these 2 weeks I don’t think they hesitate to option hays. Kjerstad will get opportunities to do that. Hays has no value anymore. Let him get consistent at bats in triple a and maybe bring him back later.
Bowman has to go. Started good last year, fell apart, went to AAA, was bad there and has been bad this year. Maybe we need him while we wait for injured pitchers to return. But we have to get rid of him ASAP.
There are 4 pitchers due back soon.
He won't survive.
Maybe Elias puts a small trade package together to include Baumann.
Thank you for warning us about Craig Kimbrel before the season. its a heart attack every time.
Are you kidding? He's easily our most reliable bullpen pitcher. He's definitely going to fill the void left by Bautista this year.
I don't know WTF you're talking about. He's mostly been lights out and the best reliever on the team. He just has not been hit hard at all so far this season. He hit a batter then the next guy got a bloop single but he pitched his way out of it without allowing a single run. Which is a lot more than I can say about Baumann.
Hard to get excited in fantasy baseball, especially in dynasty, about a nobody that is 34 years old.
Austin Hays is an all-star guys. I'm not on the train of people wishing him away just because he's had a slow start and Cowser is in must-play form. I get tough decisions are going to part of the foreseeable future for this team but I will miss Hazy and I hope he makes his way back to the team soon.
He had one good half of baseball. Hays has been in decline since last June. This is a business not a relationship.
Why bring up Kjerstad up just sit?
Probably so you have 26 players on the roster like is required?
@@afguy79 I get that. But wouldn’t you rather a top bat in your organization not sit for two weeks and maybe play occasionally. Wouldn’t you rather he stay playing constantly. If it’s short term, wouldn’t it make more sense to bring up a utility role player? If you can’t play these top prospects that are in the minors in the majors now because you won’t trade anyone to make room, why waste a month of their season by sitting? Kjerstad is 25. Mayo is 22. Norby is 23. I get that O’Hearn and whoever else is playing well, but they’re not potential team cornerstones. They can be glue guys or role players. But the prospects potential at the major league level should be priority #1 once they have nothing else to prove in my opinion. But I’m just an idiot on the internet. What do I know? I have no idea how to run a team. I shouldn’t second guess what the Orioles have built. I’ve become a huge fan
@TheCrakinskulz true but I don't want 6 prospects on the field at one time either
@@afguy79 you’re right. Holliday has proven that
@@TheCrakinskulzYou’re not wrong in what you questioned above, but the thing is…there really isn’t a right and wrong in these types of decisions. One of those good problems…a “too many good players” problem.
Personally, my take is that 1.)Kjerstad has just outright earned a call-up with his numbers this year. Even if his play time shrinks, the human element might outweigh it letting him get time with the big club and see some MLB pitching.
2.)The tough decisions coming up from the Orioles in the off-season are more pressing in the OF than the IF with Hays, Mullins, and Santander coming up to the end of their team control. They might want to see how Kjerstad gels with the majors roster and if he responds well to a platoon/pinch hitter share of playing time.
It's time to move on from Urias and Mateo.
Now O's should DFA Urias and bring up Mayo.
Mounty is nice, but Heston is our future at first!!
Mounty is an all star caliber player stop. He’s not going anywhere
He's already 25, more of a suspect than a prospect at the moment.
O's bullpen sucks
Austin Hays sucks. He doesn't belong in the lineup anyway.
180 day IL hopefully 😂
