Lol same. I’ve been riding for about 5 years and I never had to use it bc my horse was always in his stall already and after the lesson all I. had to do was weave it through the bars bc he needed to be tied that way.

I would recommend that you use a "bowline" to tie your boat up. The knot is named after it's purpose: the knot that you use to tie the bow of the boat with a line(rope).

I don't have any horses, but I used this knot to tie my fishing rod to the pier post. In the past, I lost a couple of rods that were pulled from a pier by big fish. It is very easy to release the knot from the rod when the fish is pulling it. After using this knot I no longer lose a fishing rod. Again thank you!

If the horse pulls hard in a panic it will tighten this so it cannot be untied. I ran a stable for horse-back safaris with over 50 horses for 5 years in South Africa and often had to quick release. Trust me, this one is close, but will not work if the horse panics.
    Rather try:
RING KNOT - This is a good knot to use for tying a horse to a ring of any kind. Twist the loop in the rope a few times and put the twisted loop through the ring. Then a loop (in the end going to the horse) can be put through the loop created by the twists, creating a second loop. A loop is then made in the working end of the rope, to put through that loop, leaving a tail on the working end of the rope that can be pulled for untying.
