Stream tomorrow! Have a great weekend!
You didn't name it OnlyFarms! So sad! See you tomorrow!
Zeroth!
YES!!!
I needed this episode today Doc..Thanks man
No you, you have a great weekend👉👈. Anyways thanks for the amazing inspirational vids! Quality good as always, and I always have liked the pacing and relaxing qualities in your vids. May the farming engineering bring prosperity and revolution!
Legend has it, when the Doc explores an ancient city the wardens hide form him.
They are scared of being abducted and made pets
How did he turn off warden spawning? Walking past all those shriekers ignoring the sensors...
@@playmusic8056EDIT: I was wrong, Doc is actually continuously activating a naturally generated shrieker with a arrow his player shot to suppress warden spawns.
There's a limited amount of wardens that you can have in the world. After you hit that mob cap no more will spawn. So if you cage up a bunch of wardens somewhere else until you hit the mob cap, your free to run through the ancient cities without any being able to spawn.
@@playmusic8056 He explained it in the video. He has a warden farm that when turned on maxes out his max warden spawns making him warden spawnproof in ancient cities ( as far as I understood it )
@@Noponnyu oh cool... I must've been distracted when he explained that. Thanks
Doc when opening Minecraft: "Time to log into Hermitcraft. Heheh. Log. Wood. Heh."
Doc really is the villain of hc, and nobody has any way of stopping him.
Nice
This is the pinnacle of German humor :P
@@josiahr.2472 Log... heh heh... like a big poop. Scat humor very German. LOL
Reading this with the Beavis and Butthead voice
So this is the beginning of Doc's OnlyFarms.
❤😂 this was much funnier than it should have been.
Absolutely, I couldn’t agree more😂
The Doc's log
These farms are the kind of thirst traps that we want, hahaha
So that's what his Big Wood™ is all about...
"Feel free to escalate this as you deem appropriate" -Joe
Well, if there's one quote to sum up all Hermitcraft shenanigans..
This! XD It really does sum up this season as a whole so far tbh, haha.
Good thing the hermits aren't at all petty
I'm here for a Cleo vs. Doc *flex* war where they perform _increasingly outrageously _*_generous_* acts for one another in an attempt to gain the upper hand.
Annnnd suddenly the whole perimeter returns to its natural glory xD
What if Doc had the "Diamond Permit", so he could sell diamonds for sand directly?
And this could work for the diamond awards as well! instead of diamond made it will be diamond sold
wouldn’t that be the same as buying sand? 🤣
It's obliging people to buy/shovel for him. Not even his fault Scar runs out of sand. @@doctornobody105
you could just buy sand, + what would be the point of selling diamonds themselves, if you buy stuff with diamonds?
that's like selling money for a cupcake
@@Shadowical The difference would be that if you sell diamonds for sand you have multiple 'buyers' but if you would buy sand then you would have just one seller
Doc and Joe talking about the Permit office with sincere fear/disgust is just the funniest thing to me. Grian did way too good creating the DMV atmosphere.
Doc and Joe moving all that wood with donkeys. One might say they were.... hauling ass.
👏🏻
He just about said it too, when he and his steed jumped off the scaffolding.
Doc: Taming dragons, wrestling withers and wardens into obedience, bending reality itself to his will.
Also doc [as well as every other (german) person who likes to get stuff done]: Boy oh boy am I scared of the bureaucrats (in the Hermit Permits Office)!
And the instinct to find loopholes….. that’s the whole reason the German bureaucracy is as crazy as it is
The fact that Permit Office scares even Doc when it only had two people try to get something only shows what kind of hell Grian recreated
When Doc said, “If you wanna learn super proper Redstone, watch BDubs.” I really felt that. Cos BDubs is pretty good at Redstone, but rather than doing the insane technical stuff Doc does, he goes through it a little by little to show us his method.
I once read something about the idea that geniuses are terrible at teaching the subject they excel at. Doc is a genius at Redstone. I don’t expect to fully be able to learn from him. But BDubs seems to have tried learning himself so is able to teach us viewers better.
Equally, BDubs is a genius at building. And I am never going to learn anything about building from watching him. I just watch in awe and confusion. But with some of Iskall’s videos recently where he is trying to learn from builders and spending a lot of time doing little things, I can learn more easily from that as he tries out different blocks and colours.
If you’re trying to learn. Watch the geniuses in awe and confusion and learn from those like you who need to be more deliberate in their method.
Based take, watching genius is just like watching magic, you have no idea what they're doing and they can't really explain.
@@Wearywastrel Yeah. But it’s still great to watch.
Very true. It’s a funny bit that bdubs is not good at Redstone but I’ve learned so much from his redstone with bdubs segments 😅
I don't agree that you can't learn buildimg from Bdubs. At least I can, and I see redditors all the time with bdubs inspired builds. He shows all these building tricks, as well as his thought process when choosing a blovk pallette and layout. I find both very helpful to improve my own building skills.
@@dieene8647 There are just a few things about BDubs building that I just can’t wrap my head around. Like when he once tried to teach us how to make a horse and he drew an oval and a circle in the ground and seemed to act like that was all there was. I just wasn’t able to get my head round it. Maybe you have some more affinity for understanding him than I.
Thats one complicated sand farm
Doc needs another broadcast speaker that screams out "I'VE GOT WOOD!!!" periodically. LOL
I've seen redstone contraptions and farms that are aesthetically pleasing, and others that are less so, but that wood farm is the first time I've seen one that is truly beautiful.
No shell, no housing, just a beautiful machine. Incredible.
100% agree
Yes! It's incredibly elegant.
the diamond ore helps
Warden: WHO DARES ENTER MY DOMAIN?!?!?!
Doc: Yo, it's me.
Warden: Just remembered I have an apointment, have fun.
The warden has to get a permit.
Doc is the Chuck Norris of the hermits
I love how the whole server is terrified of the permit office. XD
even grian himself dreads having to go into the permit office when people ask for help
You can tell doc is excited when he starts talking and talking, and you can just hear him smiling
I am so far behind the genius that is doc that i googled, 'uses for diamond ore in redstone' and THE FIRST RESULT IS A REDDIT PAGE TALKING ABOUT DOC JUST USING THEM TO FLEX XD.
it’s purely aesthetic. his trademark
Hermits: "We doin' postal system this season, you know items go to the nether and ride around in minecarts in a loop-dee-loop"
Doc: **casually dropping hints that he's gonna teleport bone meal across the server by bending space-time continuum, again**
The duo of Doc and Joe is delightful! They're both dedicated grinders who tackle giant projects but with such divergent styles. I'm looking forward to more Goat + Muppet fun times!
I also love how doc is trying to play some villain role in a new plot and Joe encourages him with a smile on his face.
Thanks a lot for the shoutout ❤
Was actually really interesting to watch someone like you building the farm in such a fancy block palette and exploring its inner workings
Tbh I didn't expect it to be such a challenging build (besides some tricky rail placements) but then it's also been ages since I built my last farm in survival xD
Glad everything worked well and smoothly (I know how annoying it is, it broke countless times while designing lol)
Love the design. You can tell, many hours went into it!
Dude my builder brain cannot comprehend how you say that isn’t an insanely complex build
That's the most insane machine I've ever seen on Minecraft. So fast and versatile. Beautiful design man.
This kind of stuff is why I love redstone. Great build!
Doc , make a deal with mumbo for the sticks , he's complaining how hard it is to get sticks!
Sticks for sand.
I love how instead of starting the video with gigantic scenes of hermitcraft landscapes slowly zooming in on himself, Doc very randomly decides to start a video with a static animation of a bubble column. It is weirdly very humorous seeing bubbles casually rising up a tube with the epic Goat Tapes music swelling in the background.
Lol, true. I just didn't even question it.
Those are goat bubbles don't worry bout it
There was something hiding behind the bubbles. A hint maybe? Showing some nefarious or funny thing he did that will come up later? I'm not sure that's just my theory about that opening, he's done hints in his intros before.
@@lightning_11 i didn't even notice :'D
It looked like either witches or wardens shooting up the tube, so it could be appreciating where he started, or it could be foreshadowing a future prank. 😂
24:57 "Nothing is out of place!"
Out of place Zombified Piglin: "Excuse me while I drop by."
do not let Grian near that farm, he'll definitly spam all the noteblocks to select the woodtyps and breake it🤣
Loophole idea Doc! with the sheer amount of diamonds you have and the legality of the hermit permits, you can buy out Joel and beef of their logs as soon as they stock it, “complain” to hermit office that it’s always sold out when you need it, get a SECOND permit for those woods, per hermit permit terms of services, and SELL your own wood of that type for sand. Best part is you won’t need to split the sand profits with anyone else and you’ll have chestfuls of the wood bought from beef and Joel to resell for sand. There’s nothing legally stopping you I believe though morally… 😂
It's Skizz and Beef, not Joel.
He has hinted at doing exactly this already in a previous video
I don't know how many times I said: "OMG that that is _SO fast!"_ while watching the machine run (it was a lot).
That thing is ab-so-lutely _IN-SANE!_
A tree every 4 ticks, that's 5 trees per second people!
All of those 0-ticked pistons activating all at the same time, absolutely glorious!
Re Silence: Minecraft has this weird power curve where for a lot of things the first one is 1000x harder than the second one. Like anything you can bone meal, you really just need to go out and pick up one on an adventure, and then you can make as many as you want. But that first one might take 4 hours if you're unlucky. Or trims (diamonds are a steep price, but once you have fortune+eff+unbreaking you can get a stack of diamonds in an hour of mining even with no technical play.) Elytra are the classic example, but villagers are the same--once you have a mending villager you have a double chest full of mending.
Obviously, producing something in bulk is always gonna be more efficient and minecraft will always have farms. But I wish it didn't have quite the "difficulty of getting infinity of x is the same as getting one of x" problem it does.
something I just love about docs wood farm area is just the Zombified Piglin just falling out the shulker farm in the background, like every once in a while you just see a piglin falling to there death while doc is just doing doc things.
for example see 12:53 (on screen for a split second)
Which is like, the most supervillain thing ever
I was trying to figure out what those were! Thank you!!!😂
High tech gold farm.
In the video where he makes the oak farm there was a baby zombie piglin riding a chicken slow falling down in the background.
I have a comment with timestamp on that video
Doc was correct... that tree farm did indeed stun me
Same. It is just mesmerizing running on full speed.
25:54 Sometimemes when doc says "yeah yeah yeah" it transitions into german "ja ja ja". Its kinda funny to me
sometimes i imagine myself in real life using Doc's contraptions. That tree planting compartment would be the scariest place to be in the world
that's terrifying, reaching around that firing piston every time i want to plant a sampling
I’ve never thought about this before! 😂 imagine using this farm in vr ☠️
Doc should use becons as redstone transparent blocks
Poor Rendog
and immovable blocks!
Talking about the process and especially giving love and shoutouts to the people who help behind the scenes, putting names to them, is awesome just like the fan art, Doc obviously has so much appreciation for everyone involved behind the scenes and in the community and its so lovely to see
When doc says Farm he means;
FULLY
AUTOMATED
RESOURCE
MAXIMIZATION
hermit craft philanthropists:
Scar
Hermit craft Evil tycoons:
Shrekm77
Evil? Doc just wants to live alone in his swamp. Occasionally help the hermits who need it and most of all teach them the value of sand duping the way Mojang intended. Not constantly trimming and respawning chunks.
Why Doc is basically a superhero.
@@edwardscott3262 Docaganda
Is Doc really evil, though?
-He took wood permits off of Etho and Mumbo in agreement to pay them half for no work at all
-He assumed all of the labor for Joe in exchange for half the profits of all of his labor (functionally the same deal that Etho/Mumbo got)
-He made a Shulker farm that made Beef one of the richest Hermits on the server (for no return at all)
He'd likely give Big Salmon the same deal as Etho/Mumbo (likely even the same deal as Joe), but they're still salty over the Salmon Shrine (which they instigated anyway)
He even hooked up the Post Office with Shulkers, even though the deal was that he'd receive his P.O. Box last
If anything, Doc is the Hero of this story
Edit: I totally forgot to mention Doc grinding for hours to get great Librarian trades for everyone, just for Cleo to turn around and steal said Librarians and charge the Hermits for what Doc had provided for free; which made also made her one of the richest Hermits on the server
@@ShiroiKibaExactly.Grinding out villagers for the whole server and donating shulkers to the Post Office for everyone to benefit from are both prime examples of philanthropy.
What's Scar done to help other Hermits this season? He's too busy playing with snails and stockpiling ores.
Doc is truly one of my favorite hermits. I love watching just to see the redstone contraptions.
Do I understand redstone? No.
Do I like doing redstone. No.
Will I still watch Doc and be locked in when he starts explaining the redstone contraptions? Yes. Yes, I will.
Dude same i can understand the overviews but the details nah its magic as a comment over on tangos channel said lol
One DESERT per Silence Trim!
Seems fair
Doc inspired me to study physics
Dont ask how, it just happens
You're gonna go far! I know a lot of professional scientists and engineers who got their start with a fascination for redstone and stuff.
Love how during Doc's explanations you casually see pigmen flying down :D
the minecraft technical community is one of the greatest communities in all of gaming. So many people willing to help each other even without any monetary incentive in places like discord.
" if you wanna learn super proper redstone, watch Bdubs!"
Doc and Joe together is like the supervillain is babysitting his cute nephew. "should we blow up timmy's house?" "YEAH!!!!"
Anyone: So Doc, how many ancient cities have you explored?
Doc: Yes.
Rip all deserts this season

May it serve as a lesson on why allowing non-renewable material duplication is better for the environment (I don't count the Wandering Trader as being renewable; he probably just gathers it somewhere else, and his stocks are always small).
In all seriousness, they need to add a renewable way to farm Sand and Red Sand, be it a grindstone of some kind to change quartz into sand and terracotta (a.k.a. dry clay) into red sand, or even just a mob that has a reasonable drop rate for the material: some kind of golem, an earth equivalent of Breezes and Blazes (you could call them "Blasts" to keep the theme naming), etc.
You can actually get infinite sand! There’s a falling block duplicator that uses the end portal, and requires removing the frame of it by growing mushrooms. It’s fairly easy to set up.
@@OmegaFerretMusicthat's sand duplication, which was actively banned last season when doc tried to use it.
There's almost no other way to get sand renewably than to effectively break the game to give you more.
@@OmegaFerretMusic Banned on Hermitcraft by the hermits. That's why Doc is charging sand for his products; let the other hermits know what it's like to shovel endless amounts of sand...
No, Doc isn't petty. Why would you say that? 🐍
Honestly really love the redstone timelapses! Watching Doc zip about while we rock out
Started watching Hermitcraft a few years back and gravitated towards some of other hermits. Decided to give Doc a try this season, honesty best decision. The longer form videos and polish is incredible and is always a joy!
Doc and Joe lowkey becoming one of my new favourite Duos. They couldnt be more different and its so funny
Congratulations doc, in Factorio terms you can now produce a full yellow belt of birch logs (15/sec)
I can't wait for Scar and Grian to run this farm
"If you wanna learn super proper Redstone, watch Bdubs." ...I would actually really love to see Doc and Bdubs team up doing some redstone, Doc can just build while Bubbles goes around pointing out which patented redstone technique of his Doc is using at any given time.
Great shoutouts to all the folks that help, I really respect your non-stop attention to crediting the crew and helpers. Great video, always a good time, have a great weekend, see you on the stream tomorrow.
Most Minecrafters: Chopping trees down is my business.
DocMC77: I'll make a tree printing machine.
The trophy shop by xisuma is different from the permit office by grian.
Xisuma would love to get one more customer with all the q&a included I think.
Doc just casually ignoring diamond ores hitted me hard 😂😢
SAND > DIAMONDS
@@BANCLAMOFFICIAL Yeah!!!!!
Etho taught him well
Goat too rich to care.
I think you mean "redstone building blocks"
It’s so refreshing to hear a content creator highlight the background work of others which help them pass on builds to us mere mortals. Thanks Doc for being so humble, let’s hope others in the community learn from you.
Hard not to love The Goat's obvious appreciation of those he draws inspiration from and collaborates with. Not everyone is so willing to share their success. Lessons, people.
Zombie cleo makes no sound and place wool everywhere she goes, meanwhile Doc is like making party and no worden spoan.
I was watching Doc last week while I thought my 3 yr old daughter was asleep, turns out she snuck out of her room to watch it too. We're gonna make it a habit to watch together as soon as it comes out now
Doc’s community is so wholesome for his theme!
Rise of the Goatling
Just look at her, watching big brother propaganda from a very young age, shell make a great addition to the goatland 🙏
That's adorable! I hope I can watch hermits with my kids one day. 😊
I'm jealous. I've been trying to get my slightly older child into any of the Hermits instead of mindless stuff like "Noob, Pro, Hacker" and pranking videos. HC is all hacker level and way better at pranks.
24:45 I like how it sounds like a steam train picking up speed, this is literally the wood train…
Doc, “look at all this junk” but you have to remember most Minecraft players will go to a couple Ancient Cities maybe ever. So they don’t create loot tables for hardcore players benefit really. I remember a stat one time that only like single digit percentages of Minecraft players have even beat the Ender Dragon.
I think I'm one of those who have never beaten the Ender Dragon.
Played the game over 10 years, never faced the dragon. Only faced the wither once (didn’t end well). Have made hundreds of wolf friends
@@benrex7775 i've only done it once, on a server with my friends and i was definitely carried
It's a bit weird that the drop rates are seemingly built around hardcore players then. Honestly the middleground is totally missing between "I'll probably look at one city to check it out" and "In order to get a specific trim, I need to run hundreds, taking multiple 10s of hours (far more without the warden trap)".
It's odd that they went with very very rare but duplicatable instead of far more common but you need to get them. To me it very much feels like the drop tables are made for hardcore players, with chaff just to fill boxes (are the people going through cities realistically in need of tiny amounts of bones and books f.e.?).
@@ghandiwon But that is my point. They want to make it not cheap (super easy to find and access top level loot) for the hardcore player. But for the non hardcore it doesn’t matter. There are a ton of players who never even use diamond armor. So if they stumble on a city, the loot is pretty good for them relative to their interest and skill level. And it is a terrifying experience which is what Mojang wanted to create. Those folks aren’t looking for the Silence armor trim so they don’t care.
"ugh swift sneak again" me when i've checked 8 ancient cities looking for a mending book bc i refuse to deal with villagers
There's always fishing!
*Cries in Grian*
@@Singe0255 lol unless it’s a large biome world where you’re based in the middle of wooded badlands! Many ancient cities tho
I love your support of your community. It's always so cool when you shoutout builders, redstoners, fan artists, musicians... Everyone. There aren't many content creators I'll stick around for an hour and change to watch their content. You're S tier, Doc! GET WOOD!
Doc and the hivemind literally carrying the whole reputation of german engineers!
The metal time-lapse is always the most hype part of the videos 🤘
You should make a gift wrap option for your wood shops. Make a contraption that individually wraps up each log in a shulker.
If there are going to be shopping bags at Big Wood I will suggest calling them "Chopping bags"
I really love how you show an audience (hermitcraft watchers), that normally maybe only watches people that build the technical side off minecraft. You were my original inspiration to get into the really technical aspects of this game. I also love how you always credit the people who deserve it, not everyone does that!❤
The one thing that truly makes Doc the GOAT in my eyes is his love and appreciation for his community. He gives everyone from artists to builders to musicians to redstoners their moment in the spotlight, making sure their hard work and skill gets the recognition it deserves. That is what makes Doc the greatest. His kindness and appreciation for others.
i love joe so much. you can never tell what he's gonna do but it'll always be certifiably joe
Just wanted to say I love the new electric guitar addition to the opening music. I still would love full music videos of the opening song and the Perimeter Anthem.
Why do I have a feeling that the intro song becomes more epic every episode?
docs base is giving me ilmango skyblock base vibes
I love how consistent doc is with his uploads, just finished pearl’s video knowing that doc would have uploaded once I finish it!
Perfect timing, at work going through 1,000's of emails with Doc on the side screen
Doc: *Builds industrial projects that, if he actually tried, could crash the hermitcraft economy, or destroy the entire server’s projects if he wanted to*
Also Doc: “The most scary place on the server… is BUREAUCRACY!”
Doc seeing the mail system "cute" eagerly waiting to pull the cover off the GOAT version of a transfering system
It should be said that Grian, GRIAN, has scared Doc, not by being, you know, Grian, but has in fact scared Doc with bureaucracy.
Aaaa, Doc's channel is the perfect place for a Metal head, Minecrafter like myself.
Doc and Xisuma both!
love the insight into the planning/behind the scenes/infrastructure aspect of your work! I think it's awesome how collaborative your process is and how big (and supportive and generous and creative) of a community you have around you-- from the technical hivemind to the fan artists, you've got some incredible people in your corner! :D
Loved Joe's "feel free to escalate this as you feel appropriate." Now that's a good business partner.
I love how Joe has no reaction to a chest full of shulker boxes of logs
Yall hermits are crazy xD
In this week of Hermit Craft Doc was doing OF
(Only Farms)
Doc is in full villain arc mode and I bet the hermits will join together to take him down 😂
Mad respect to the Goat for putting out these hour long episodes every week! Been watching for so many years and you've never failed to deliver amazing content. Keep up the great work Doc!!
You should add a condition to your trim store that disallows duplicating the bought trims.
Or instead of selling the trims directly he can just ask for hermits armor and apply trims for them
this log farm feels like one of those ridiculous dr seuss contraptions. all the moving parts and different things make it so fun to look at
Joe is quick to learn the ways of big wood.
Yess, time for doc to supply the whole server with his wood. Can’t wait for this ep I saw the notification and I dropped everything. Onlyfarms time, cya on the stream everyone 😻
Doc is officially too overpowered. No one can stop the hive mind...
Whoever designed this farm really thought about it. Deliberately. And i do have to give Doc credits, he built it as a beautiful art piece of construction
It would be useful if you centerd the new perimeter on an ancient city, because I'm pretty sure there's a part of minecrafts code that prevents regular hostile mobs from spawning in them, so you wouldn't need to do as much spawn proofing.
the problem with that is, that if he wants to build a mobfarm in it, he has to build it at a height that is not the deep dark biom anymore, which gimps the efficiency of the farm because the spawn algorithm works in a way that increases spawns the lower the y level of the spawning platform is. i learned that the hard way, did a 33x33 chunk perimeter and the whole floor is deep dark. luckily enough i dont care about the output of the mobfarm in it super much, i mostly did the perimeter because i got inspired by the decorations doc did in season 9 and i love learninig how to do technical stuff. building the worldeater is by far the biggest technical thing ive done so far but it felt insanely rewarding once i actually made it work for the first time.
This log farm is amazing with few thousands output, no person should have so much wood. I also find really beautiful that every single part maters and with so many moving parts it still works.
I just love the timelaps music so much that i cant help cranking the sound up to the max. Seems my neighbours also loved the music. They trew a brick through my window just so that they could hear it better 🤘
Wow, insane to see such an efficient universal wood farm. I remember over a decade ago when Packrat built one on the mindcrack server that was basically just a wall of pistons, wild to see how far we have come ^^
man, I always look forward to the time-lapses in these videos, because not only do we get to see a super cool redstone machine coming together, we also get to rock out to the awesome music lol
Nice woodfarm Doc! I didn't really appreciate the work going into these types of large-scale farms until I built one myself.
I recently built a universal wood farm in Bedrock. No litematica, no infinite tnt, but loads and loads of blocks.
The down-side is it's not fully AFK as the block makers get filled up after some time and you still have to manually chop the wood. The up-side is that it's very gratifying to chop down massive blocks of wood 😉
Absolutely outstanding that you took the time at the end of the video to describe and explain how you work within and with the tech community and with individual people to masterpiece together truly epic designs and builds. I hope you and the Hivemind continues to Grind, Optimize, Automate, and Thrive.
“If you want to learn super proper redstone, watch Bdubs”
this was an amazing reference 😂
Music this season is just awesome too 🤘
Doc is the ultimate spokesperson for the technical community: smart, humble, and very entertaining
