See so many drummers distracted by thier iem's you'd think someone would make a set that actually stay in. I would go with over ears personally.
From what I hear you have to get custom molded IEMs
I play with custom fit IEs since 2 years and it has been a game changer. You have to apply serious force to rip it out my ears :D never had issue again, even in multiple hour long shows. they just stay in. Costs a good bit more tho than prefit IEs tbh.
Looks like he's got the universal Shure ones. Custom molds keep getting more and more expensive as bands adopt the practice! I've got the 535's from that series. The sound quality AMAZING and the isolation is nearly as good as with custom molds but they certainly tug and fall out if you don't find a way to clip the cable to the back of your collar or tape it to your bare back Duplantier style. I had a pair of custom molded IEM's built about ten years ago and while those truly do stay in no matter how hard the cable gets yanked, I'm unlucky enough to be allergic to the material they're coated with. It was a whole lot of money down the drain and I essentially own a cursed object now. They're these beautiful Hawaiian Koa wood shells with glacier blue eartips. They sit on my shelf and whenever I pass by them, all I want is to plug them into my mixer and hear my click track and the D6/91 in my kick coming through them but I can't😔
