Kinda sucks, I was hoping for a little better than "lol u died", but at least afterwards it lets you immediately choose the other option and doesn't force you to play the level again. And it's such a great game overall that I really can't let a minor disappointment like that really affect my opinion.
@@ThatGastrodon Well the point is that the character either dies then and doesn't "lose" the girl or he doesn't die and instead gets stuck in a limbo where he's forced to live the final moments of his life forever. So either choise sucks?

Not because I wanted to beat the game "the badass way", but because I just like fast paced games.
And also, honestly, this game isn't that hard if you don't use the bullet time since the very beggining. But I guess it would seem difficult if you get used to use it and then try not to use it in your next playthrough. Or, well, *almost* every part of this game isn't that difficult without bullet time, the secret boss is an absolute exception to it, that thing is just horrible.

God this game is fuckin great, from the extra weapons you can unlock (except one of them which is a LIE with its description) and it's speed run mode it's all just great. I just wish hard mode was an option for regular playthroughs of levels, so I can practice.

@@Davenzoid It's been 2 years since I left this comment and just about the same amount since I last played it. I'm pretty sure it's the one that can "Break Shields". It says it can do that in its description. It's a lie. All it is is a heavy and slow sword with a slightly longer reach. Literally, any other sword is better than it.

This is 100% Cloud and Zack story. Got the soldier who thought he was the cool guy, turns out it was someone else. Had memories of things that weren't exactly accurate, or at least the wrong pov. Was genetically modified in some way. Even get the flashback sequence that clears it up.
Indiemaus and johntron on the same day. Christmas came early this year.

14:30 I cant confirm but I think Snow is based on Lady Snowblood, a samurai sequelogy from the 70s that derived from a manga of the same name. If you've ever seen Kill Bill know that those movies were heavily based on Lady Snowblood as well and share a lot of similarities. But both Snow and Snowblood dress similarly, they're both samurai, and they both do that floating petal silhouette thing. And I dont know but I think the music might be similar too. Hope we get to see more of her in the DLC

Just to clarify the ending part - You aren't the "bad guys' in the end, but you're basically working for the "good guys" as an experimental unit, and you're ordered to leave no survivors (based on the scientist, it seems like the Cromags were also trying to make child super soldiers, hence you were ordered to kill everyone).
There are multiple ways of interpret the story, and I personally fall on the side that the little girl and masked characters are part of the hallucinations (kind of like the child = his humanity, while the masked ones show his inhumane side) and Dragon having the OP powers shows that the drugs can give more powers than just you slowing down time and being able to repeat events (so everything going on with masked men could just be the MC blanking out and not understanding what's going on).
I swear the game (the psychiatrist) says that the drug only gives you the time powers and everything else is what you learnt to do while becoming a super soldier
@@guphord But what about "Dragon"? He's from the same batch of super soldiers as your character (GAMMA) and can literally teleport around (he can do similar stuff to what "happened" in the end of Chinatown). And the game (Psychiatrist) isn't a reliable source of information, and he has no way to have in-depth knowledge on the project.

During my play through I sat there, mouth agape during that roof scene where you can see the whole city. Incredible
Now you gotta do a run by getting all the Keys. Ill tell you the first one> you know that hotel that guy jumped the balcony off of? dont go through the door to him. instead, open the door but throw an object straight down. After that then run to the balcony and you'll pick up a key. each key leads to a door in the lab you unlocked. and each door gives you a new sword to use

Watching this back just under 2 years later I can't help but notice you cut my favorite sequence in the game from this video but I'm glad you did. It's a truly mindblowing moment the first time you see it and to deprive others of that first time experience would be evil, but you still left enough in that if somebody is interested they would probably play it themselves. You did spoil the twist at the end, but content is content I suppose.
