Hi, I use home printed paper targets (as you said there are lots on the web to download) I then tape these onto an empty cereal box (or clip on with a peg) Inside the box I put 5 or 6 copies of the Daily Mail newspaper (after the wife has read them!) each paper is folded in half. I place this in front of my back stop (brick wall of the garden BBQ) These are cost effective and fairly quiet, plus the pellets are contained within the newspapers for collection. On testing at point blank with my TX200 (sub 12ft lbs 0.177) The pellets never get through the fourth folded paper, but the brick wall is my safety net. I do a similar method with my metal target holder with cut up old magazines to help keep the noise down. The papers & box get emptied of pellets then put into the recycling. Keep up the good work with the channel.

I use various (cheap as I can find in the £ stores ) softish plastic and as small as I can find ,Toy Animals , Soldiers , Cowboys , Indian's , Dinosaurs , etc. sticking their bases to a strip of scrap cardboard with either a drop of white school glue and left for an hour or two to dry or a small blob of blue tack if I'm in a hurry . As a youth I used to buy strike anywhere matches (hard to find these days !) pushed through a piece of scrap corrugated card board and weighed down with soil from the garden , Its a real challenge ! but very satisfying when I managed it with open sights at 15 yards , not so easy these days as scopes (Old Eyes!) magnify wobbles . Love the new channel Guys ,Thanks ! .Shoot Straight , Stay Safe & Stay Well ! .

Matches sounds like a really fun challenge! And toy animals and soldiers is a great idea we hadn't thought of... cheap and fun! Thanks for the good feedback Richard and we'll keep them coming :)

@@ShootingCountryTV I used to scrape small berms (like a small trench) with My heel and place the soldiers behind these , We also had several blackberry and gooseberry bushes running down the sides of the garden and as the fruits were free I would also place these strategically on the berms , the problem is when the are hit they scatter the seed randomly all over the place , resulting next season in a rapidly expanding mass of mixed brambles , which didn't go down to well with My parents and it took me several good shooting days to remove them once they had been allowed to become partially established .
      Oh happy days !

Swinging Targets. I have modified mine by drilling holes in the centre of each swinger of increasing diameter, starting on the left or right say 2mm, next 2.5mm then 3mm etc. for .177 cal.
The objective being similar to Polo mints.
Sometimes the pellet will pass through, others will clip but only rock the swinger, others will set the swinger.
You can then determine your own scoring system. Good luck. Plymouth.

Sounds really cool... guess you can then make a game out of it too with your scoring system :)

I'm just starting in the hobby, something thats got me pondering is how well Air dry clay would lend to being used for reactive targets, it's cheap in most craft stores and can be effectively recycled (if you find the bits) by moistening it again, if it'll work you could make all sorts of shapes.

CORRECTION Hole diameters in swingers should be 5.0, 5.5, 6.0,6.5 mm dia. etc. for .177 cal.
Swingers are then painted white thus having a dark aim point. Range being 14M long
