Also, we are on a 10,000 year trend of becoming more efficient with our consumption while simultaneously getting better at producing energy. The sun's current output will continue for billions of years and we're only getting better at collecting it.
Here's another fun fact. A glucose molecule produced by a plant is indistinguishable from a glucose molecule created artificially. We're on our way to that, so there will be no need to panic about food or any other resource, so long as we still have the raw elements to work with and an energy source.

@@zsigzsag It's funny you mention that. I was literally explaining that to my wife yesterday. I told her people fail the grasp the horror of Pompeii and the absolute violence of Vesuvius, which would be dwarfed by something like Yellowstone. And to be fair to your point, in order for humanity to not completely waste it's cheap resources and find new and efficient methods of providing for the basic needs of all humanity would require unprecedented global social, economic, and political cooperation, which doesn't appear possible anytime soon, if ever, which is depressing. I hope for the sake of future generations we can evolve as a species before we destroy ourselves, which feels much more likely than an extinction level event like Yellowstone Caldera erupting.

They still have the woman - wife stuck in the kitchen, as her domain - in the future! I guess not much has changed in the future. Oh and they are still wearing those big 1960's hair styles. At 10:03 is this how people in the orient walk? What a cute but silly film. Designing cars of the future, do you see any computers? No it's all done on a drawing board or with wood and clay.

With the exception of that moving fridge, the first segment’s view of the future looks like a lame, consumerist, strangely kitch-y purgatory. Also, way screw over the desert wildlife by artificially pumping water in into and drastically changing their environment. Eh, give the cartoon Futurama over this one any day.
