God bless Janelle. I too had a baby just short of 40. Initially I was worried until a lovely nurse told me that ladies at that age have much healthier pregnancies because we are so intent on doing the right thing. That baby is now 23 and such a blessing. God has you and the baby in the palm of his hand. 🙏
The thought that comes to mind is how I hope that many young women and families are watching this and following you. My life could have been greatly blessed if I'd had you 2 to walk this journey when I was young and having babies. Although, even at my more mature age I'm so blessed by you both and your family. Congratulations and truly, THANK YOU for this video. I’m also 40 and expecting our sixth in Dec, fifth cesarean. I’ve had a lot of complications with previous pregnancies and births, so I’m praying primarily for health and protection with this pregnancy, because admittedly, I am terrified. I am going to purchase the book and app you mentioned.

I wish I was young and pregnant! Janelle you are so inspiring. I never thought about God being 100% in the pregnancy, labor and delivery when I was pregnant. Janelle I totally empathize with you. I’m pregnant with #8 and I’m 41, I’ll be 42 before baby comes. I LOVE be pregnant and I’ve been blessed with not having nausea and for the most part healthy pregnancies. This time for me I cry almost everyday. I’m not depressed at all I’m just super sensitive to so much. My last birth was totally natural and that was the first for me. I was terrible pain but so worth it. I’m definitely ordering that book!

Janelle thank you for saying yes to God and bringing more beautiful children into the world; we, as mothers are co-creators with God. it’s not an easy job to be a mother but God always gives us the strength to continue forward. Praying for a joyful, pain-free birth! I know that sounds like a strange prayer... when I was pregnant with our 6th baby (and I had been through some traumatic births), I was over 40 and fearful of the pain, suffering and recovery. I prayed that God would bless me with a pain-free labour and delivery. I listened to talks (including one by Mary Heseltine) and spent a lot of time thinking about birth as this beautiful moment of opening our bodies to the life that God planned. I told God, "You can give me a pain-free experience if you want to.... but whatever you want, I will accept". And the Lord granted my desire! I only had a few contractions before it was time to push and even then, it was a beautiful. Reframing how we think about things is so powerful. And so is God!!! Janelle, you are so loved and have so many people praying for you. I know you will feel those prayers of support and they will carry you through!

I just want you to know that we also had 7 children. The last baby I was afraid in the hospital but I prayed to Mary and l felt her presence! I was 40 . The last 2 babies were the light of our lives even tho l thought I was too old! Do not be afraid God and his beautiful mother have got this!

Wonderfully honest. This is so natural to feel that fear especially when one has gone thru the birth process.
What a supportive and beautiful way to help others embrace childbirth . It’s no small thing to give birth and it is given to the women who want to have children. Please rest and stay strong in Christ . You most likely will save many souls during your labor, and bring another beautiful baby into this world. 🥰

You guys will be in our prayers for a safe delivery 🙏🏼 I was strengthen in labor knowing I had so many people praying for me. You probably will have hundreds of people interceding for you, take courage in that! Bridget Teyler’s videos also helped me prepare to have a natural labor. I have a 8 week old baby girl and she is number #5 our oldest is 11. She is the most wonderful little baby and my recovery went well and my husband is a very hands-on dad and it’s still super challenging! The last weeks of my pregnancy were super hard bc my oldest kids were so busy with sports and end of school stuff. I gave it ALL I had this pregnancy. I gave it ALL I had during this labor. We have a our hands full! I also know that we’re still young and if the Lord desires for us to have another baby he will give me the strength to give it all I have again :) Thanks for this video, I will pray for y’all and know there’s someone out there that truly understands 💜 big hugs.

Funny thing... When my mom was pregnant with her first born, she was desperate for it to be over. At her 39 week in her "despair" she said to my grandma, "oh, i just lost hope!" And my grandma laughed and laughed and told her... "with that bump! Believe me, it will come out! Hahahahahaha" i just fount it very funny... The timing will be perfect.
I too got scared with the positive results (except for the second (lost to ectopic) and third bec of fertility problems, got extremely sad with the negatives)... I felt guilty, but when it switched to hope and joy I asked forgiveness... I admire you for that eventhough your real and strong fear of the process you choose life and being open to life all the time, that is a strong woman! Hugs...

All the best Janelle, it reminds me of a quote I once heard of someone who went past the hospital saying, “so much wasted suffering”. Remember in the moment to unite your suffering to Our Lord, it always helped me through the labour. And at the end, so much joy!!
Thank you for sharing this I will keep you in my prayers I’m so blessed to have found this today. I pray for a very easy delivery. I had 5 pregnancy 4 children and the 3 rd was my easiest then my 4 th was the hardest but is my closest child of all and is turning 48 this year so each is different but all a blessing from God. Oh man Janelle, I can relate. Thinking about that youth retreat in Alberta with Fr Cristino when we were pregnant with our first babies. So wonderful to be on a similar family life trajectory all these years later.

Oh, my last (#7) was born 3 months before my 40th birthday, and it was so much more difficult for me, but I'm sure that a lot of it was due to his size! He was 11.2! I'm praying for a safe and healthy birth for you and your precious little one! God bless and I can't wait to see this sweet little gift of yours!
What!!!.... 11.2!!!! wow! Janelle's biggest baby has been just over 7 so far. Most in the 6 pound range!
@@Catholicspeaker LOL! My smallest was 7.14. I am an insulin-dependent, type 1 diabetic but we still weren't expecting a baby that big! He didn't stay big long and he's average-sized now.
I found I was less tolerant of pain the older I got. May this labor be tolerable and you be blessed with a healthy baby and birth!!!
You are not upset dear, you are emotionally connected to God and that always brings tears…tears of JOY..…
I had my last baby at almost 40 too(I was a few months shy of 40), and yes, it was harder.
And I just looked at it as something to get thru-some women seem so content being pregnant, I was never one of them. I wish the book you shared(and your own wise words) had been available to me then.

I found I was given so much more peace after reading that book with our last baby. I had never *willfully* given birth unmedicated until our #5 (#4 was delivered unmedicated but not by choice, haha). It is because YOU'RE pregnant(the tears)!! He will get you thru this!! It is hard!! And Blessed Mother too. You will be holding your little one soon. It's the late nights and sore "milk bottles" as I call them, that I fear once I get thru labor. Some of it does get easier. Hugs to you. ( I'm half French Canadian. 🥰) you're beautiful!

I have only one child who was born 24 years ago. Tho it was by cesarean that my baby girl was born, I also experienced labor pains. But seeing the baby that you carried for nine months, will really drive you to tears.

I will be praying for you! I had one painless birth where with every contraction I prayed "Father, please carry me, Father, you are carrying me, Father, you have always carried me" . . .
