Part 2: • Tim Donaghy on Rasheed...
    --------
Former NBA referee Tim Donaghy discussed his journey in the industry leading up to his 2007 arrest for betting on his own games. Donaghy, who was inspired by his referee father and even followed him to games, only became a referee himself after several unsatisfying jobs after college. Through participation in an NBA training program, Donaghy climbed the ranks from high school leagues all the way to the NBA, where he officiated 772 regular games and 20 playoff games. Despite the thrill of success, he admitted the experience initially proved difficult as the 'new guy,' as he faced aggressive behavior from players and coaches. He also highlighted the ranking system among referees, which influences their advancement opportunities and the likelihood of being let go if they don't progress as expected. Overall, Donaghy reflected on his time in the NBA, citing the joy and excitement of his promotion and first playoff game as memorable highlights.

His mom suggest that he becomes a referee because she knows others that are successful referees. How many people do you know that are referees for any professional sport ? Sounds like "Nepotism" is prominent in pro sports. $150-300K to monitor a kid's game is not bad work if you know someone that can hook you up. 🤷‍♂🤷‍♂🤷‍♂

Vlad is going to have to put in work for this interview. Tim’s answers are like an A/B A/B rapper. No elaboration of answers unless Vlad drags the answers out of him. This is an example of an interviewer having to put in work to save the potentially trash interviewee.
