    What the hell was the cameraman thinking when Cheng Fei did her vault?? That's possibly the worst angle for vaults -.-

    The camera work for this competition was horrid. Few closeups, mostly far shots. Cheng Fei's vault was completely missed. Alicia's vault was not shown live, rather they chose to show us a Romanian girl getting READY for her bar routine. UGH. Bart and Tasha do a pretty good job though.

    I'm happy I get to watch but this broadcast is the definition of AMATEUR. The announcing and camera-work are not very good at all. Really makes you appreciate the NBC broadcasts.

    WHAT'S WITH THE LOUSY CAMERA ANGLES?????
    Filming a vault from behind and below??? Seriously... Appalled by this
    And as for artistic gymnastics, I think we have lost the artistry over the years, sad but true. Too much going in to difficulty now and the rest is wafting half the time, esp beam and floor. Don't take me wrong! It is amazing what all these young women are capable of but technique is technique, bring the artistry back please.
    NOT the gymnasts fault!

    I prefer Bart's commentary when with Kathy Johnson. They're a good commentating team! They vibe well. Tasha, however, has a more aggressive style LOL

    its so wierd when you realize that none of the champions here went on to win that same event in the olympics for the women at least. strange how much can change in a year.

    I love how when they said "the grace of gymnastics" they had Jana Bieger on floor, the antithesis of graceful gymnastics.

    For example - he consistently says Ksenia Semenova's name Сем-я-нова rather than Семёнова.

  • @CelloRosin

    Yes he does. Ya ruskaya - ya znayoo. He has chronic problem with getting nervous when saying them and he emphasizes wrong syllable.

    Wait... How is Semenova's name pronounced? All through the olympics, they said SEM-EN-OV-A but her they're all SEM-I-EN-OVA

    Bart watching the Chinese on bars:

    how is this 35 minutes?! lol
    doesn't youtube limit to not only 1gb, but also 10 minutes?
    (which I think is stupid.)
    there are many videos that can be well over 10 min. and under 1 gb.

  • @CelloRosin
    @CelloRosin Před 15 lety

    Maybe my ear is just trained to hear it a little harsher. You are right though - it is not as bad as could be. It is especially difficult for English speakers because Semenova chooses to spell it in this alphabet without a yo english sound written in. I must commend him for not calling her Se-men-ova. Many other english commentators do tend to pronounce a bit better than him though. Although many of those commentators are not as knowledgeable about gymnastics as him.

  • @CelloRosin
    @CelloRosin Před 15 lety +1

    Oh my goodness Bart - please learn how to pronounce Russian names.
