I'm 30 and I've heard it all my life...
She knew they needed them on a boat. She didn't know that they needed life jackets on a raft. They were unaware that rafts and even paddle boards are considered vessels. She legit said every time they go on a boat they have jackets. Totally understandable that they didn't know they needed them for a little raft.
Common sense for the need for life jackets on any type of vessel that goes on the water....
Claiming ignorance nowdays is pathetic. A quick Google search when my wife bought her paddle board if a pdf was required, and boom within 5 mins found the requirements by fish and game in my state.🤷♂️

I've never been stopped and checked for a life jacket, lived here all my life! The law is the law woman, you need to have a life jacket in the boat if you are going to be on the water, it applies to you and everyone else, regardless of how 'long you have lived here'!! I think the Warden should have given her two tickets to cover all the times she has broken the law before!

Good to see them checking for lifejackets. I almost lost my life as a kid on the Tippicanoe River in Indiana, hitting a log jam, while canoeing. We had lifejackets, but werent wearing them. The spring rains had the river up and running fast, and I failed to negotiate an outside bend, and hit the jam. I got sucked under, hitting my head on a log. All I can say is God helped me, and a log hit me in the belly, I grabbed on and was somehow able to get on top of it, and then climb to the top of the jam. I was in excellent shape and was a strong swimmer, I can't imagine had I been an older man, or not in shape.

@jasonshults368 Game Wardens are one type of LE that I don't have a problem with. Yeah, some of em rake it too far, but I do think they serve a good purpose. We're all entitled to an opinion, though, so if you see em as extortionists, that's your perogative.
If you were required to wear them then it would make sense. Requiring them to be present is just an excuse to write a ticket in my opinion. If it were such a big deal and they were oh so worried they would be required to be worn at all times on the water. Im a hunter and a shared land owner so I am fond of DEC (In my area) personally but every government agency have bogus laws to make money.
@@jasonshults368look buddy I'm all about being independent, that's why I hunt and fish. But there have to be laws in place and people to enforce them. Otherwise humans have proven time and time again we can and will hunt anything into extinction if it's not controlled. Do I think certain tickets are probably just a money grab? Sure. But having a licence is part of how they keep track of the animal population and how many are hunted or caught. If you like being able to hunt or fish year after year then be thankful there are people making sure that happens.
I heard a water patrol guy , I've never rescued a person yet with a life jacket on. Why is it so simple just to wear a life jacket you were a life jacket you may never get close to drowning that is so simple in life
They only rescue the people who can be rescued. The rest are recovered.

One of our young men in our community drowned..I will never forget my mom informed me that he was in the hospital and lived for a while totally out of his mind fighting nursing staff. Dear people please a life jacket please dear people! .I was 9 years old and later became a camp counselor at another location at age 15. I'm a mature woman and it still makes me sick to think a you man was lost forever.

Game warden says: if the raft goes flat that they'll be in the water for the next 4 miles. I guess the place they raft to is 4 miles down river. But if it goes flat, just swim 50 feet to the nearest bank and get out of the water there. They don't have to go 4 miles in the river to get out. HAHAHA 😃😆🤣😂🤣😂

Gosh, $135 for not having a fishing license. That's pretty steep. But then again, I haven't fished in a while and I'm originally from Oregon years ago it used to be a $75 fine in Oregon.

The Wardens have plenty of experience issuing tickets/citations. Why when the unlicensed female fishing inquired about the fine, why did the Warden "lie" to her & tell her he wasn't sure?
A couple of likely reasons. He maybe wanted to exert a bit of psychological stress on her. He likely hadn't decided what to cite her for yet. They can pile on the charges if they desire.

When a officer decrades a person for mistake or not and is a prick thats when problems occur then sherriff gets his pride hurt when somehing said all the sudden he no everthing and is above the law.

Uh maybe it is just me. Officer says we are here to make sure you’re safe on the river. Then charges them with fines and lets them go down the river. Did the officer hand out life jackets for those missing them and let them keep floating down the river? Looking to me it isn’t a safety stop but more of a money trap for tv ratings

@@freedfree7933 but they need to be fined for not having them because it’s unsafe and then let continue in the same unsafe manner? If it’s unsafe enough for a citation, it should be unsafe enough that they shouldn’t be able to continue the same activity.
That's where the government control should end. It's like speeding, people choose to speed and pay the tickets when they get caught. Are you advocating for impounding vehicles for a safety issue......just like said above, give them their fine but it's on them if they drown down the river. Maybe they should be arrested and had their boat confiscated, that would've saved them🙄

For unlicensed fishers they should give them a two week period to get a license if they dont have it after two weeks they pay the fine. Chances are if they spend money on a fine they wont spend moeny on a license as well. Give them a chance to use that money for a license instead of paying the fine. Just like when you get pulled over and have insurance but no proof if you go to court and show them you were insured when issued the ticket they will drop it.
Sadly not fair to the people that do pay , also think how few get caught , just be responsible and purchase license or don't fish easy problems solved
Not how the world works, if you move some where and immediately want to fish, immediately go get the proper liscense. Not hard and not an excuse. It goes to conservation of the land, and that I am all for.
