@@Aidar77How many mass shooters get away with it? Lol and also Uwe Boll is a clown.
For those concerned about the possibility of this scenario, take a look into an incident in Fairbanks Alaska, 2017. A man named Matthew Stover outfitted himself with body armor including kevlar taped to the arms, legs, neck, and wore a ballistic face mask; also equipping himself with a rifle and 6 loaded magazines on his person with 6 more in the vehicle. After police were tipped off about a man pointing a weapon at someone, they managed to track him down and pull over his vehicle. Stover exited his vehicle and immediately ran toward the officers firing his weapon, only making it a few steps before he was shot dead.
I believe he took a shot to the mask, which was a mistake on his part, because ballistic masks aren't meant to stop bullets, they're meant to stop shrapnel. If he were smart, he would've just gone with a full enclosed helmet or something else of that nature that could stop rounds.
At the end of the day it boils down to intelligence and ingenuity. He almost had it, but fell short with a the mistake. Glad the police stopped him
@@skywarriornetwork9987 Even the Devtech Ronin is only rated to NIJ IIIA. I'm not sure there is any ballistic helmet that is rated for rifle rounds. But even then it is a moot point because the determining factor was someone attempting to win a gunfight by charging multiple officers in the open while they were behind their vehicles already taking aim. Compare that to the Dallas shooter (who had military training) where he suppressed a single officer hiding behind a pillar, before running toward his position in the open; flanking and killing him at point-blank range with the officer having virtually no time to react.
Was lucky he never met an officer with an assault rifle which is basically every US Cop now.
@@rogerc6533 After the 1997 North Hollywood shootout, police nationwide began to reconsider their patrol/service weapons. That was the only real case where officers lacked the firepower to penetrate soft body armor.

This one is actually semi-based on a true story. In the early 80s the valedictorian for Junction City, Oregon, put on a dress (disguise) and robbed a bank to get more money for college tuition. Got caught, was sentenced to five years in prison, plus another five living in a halfway house while on parole. That's the last I heard of him.

To be fair, anyone with skill, time, enough saving, and enough motivation, can make that. Theres some CZcams channel who dedicated himself to make that kind of homemade weapon and armor for fun. But the issue is, are this gear is cost-effective to be mass produce? Or will this armor will be efficient for longer use than wearing normal military gear, and not tired them faster?
Because there's something called "military grade standard", a meaning military industries often prioritize making something functional, effective, but with the cheapest option possible. That why for people who know, if there's a tools that called to have a standard military grade, it usually not that good (even it still functional).

Question since this feels like an appropriate video for the topic: Considering recent advances in material science and technology that has happened in the most recent years that brought back ballistic armor that is actually effective against many infantry small arms calibers in warfare for the first time in 4 centuries, would it be finally feasible to build a full body armor made out of ceramics that is effective without weighting too much now instead of just the torso covering plate carriers we currently have? Or... at least in the near future? Obviously it wouldn't be invincible, but it would at least be durable enough to take many intermediate sized cartridges shots before giving away.
hey @FBI
Ceramics have a fracture toughness about fifty times less than metals, even though their bonding forces are higher. Because of their susceptibility to cracking, consideration of the strength of ceramics requires consideration of their cracking behaviour.
Fuck no. Nothing is inherently bulletproof. Material science allows for things to be bullet resistant up until a certain point. Have you ever worn a plate carrier? Mine is like 28 pounds alone. That’s just two lvl IV plates, they get heavier once you add side plates. Some companies are even developing shoulder and thigh plates. At that point you’re already too heavy to be combat effective and that’s without your entire body covered. The only thing that could possibly make it feasible is if the armor was integrated with an exoskeleton that can compensate for the weight. At that point you might as well ask why don’t we just make iron man suits
If you've ever worn bodyarmor that covers the whole front, side and back of upper body, you'll know it's really heavy. In the movie it looks like he made the suit out of aluminum pans or something like that. In reality even polyethelyn(lighest option) armor plates are pretty heavy and hella expensive too. Making PE body armor that covers the whole body would be really really expensive and heavy and unpractical. Also, the energy of the bullet is directly transferred to your body upon impact, so there will be some pain each time you are shot. Bulletproof helmets are very dangerous because of this. All that energy will cause brain damage even if the bullet does not penetrate the helmet.
even if you have that kind of armor you cant really compensate the blunt force that comes with the bullets, your skin might get a few bruises, but your interals will be mush anyway
So relatable hate when this happens
if this was real the sheriff would of called for back up before going into the forest
