About OFF GRID with DOUG and STACY:
We moved to our 11 acres in 2011 from a large city in the Midwest with zero carpentry and farming skills. We live with no solar / wind power / public water or well. We share our adventure to a sustainable life, growing our own food from vegetables to meat. We post videos DAILY and they range from HOW TO to EVERYDAY LIFE and NUTRITION on the off grid homestead. We were city folks just like you probably and wanted to enjoy life and have more control over our food. We share food recipes as well as natural remedies. - Jak na to + styl

Folks would be wise to get a good medicinal herb garden or patch. Even a few in the flower beds.
Uncertain times and shortages dictate that we be able to do a lot more for ourselves. Big pharma or even the family doctor arent going to be so available.
Yarrow and its ability to stop bleeding is something everyone should have handy.
Back in 1977 I bought a book at a flea market with strange writing that no one at WVU foreign language knew. Fast forward to 1981, I discovered it was hand written in Cherokee. I started learning Cherokee to read it. I was a medicine manual. I sent it back to the tribe as I discovered it was stolen, but I copied it and have been slowly translating it ever since.
one of the very first things I discovered was that Thyme is a better cough suppressant than Robitussin DM (DextromothorphanHydrobromide) I remember seeing 2 different plants for tooth aches, I will shuffle back through it to find the other one.
Ha! What a hoot! I put some in my flower garden last year because I thought they were cute.Didnt know about the toothache thing.
Love Love y our skirt!!
Never heard of the Buzz Buttons before! Thanks! 01/30/23
I have never heard of that. Thanks for the nugget. 😃
This really is a great toothache remedy. I grew some a few years ago and made a half quart of tincture with toothache plant. I have actually used it for an abscess and it works great. I still have the tincture and it will last for years!
Oh, tell how please!
I was wondering; how do you make the tincture?
Brew City Gardener , recipe?
I just steep whole flowers in Everclear grain alcohol. Works great and lasts forever. Just a small dab with a q-tip is all you need.
Love your skirt, Stacy!!
Bet she made it
sue orsak the lady from RainCountry makes them.
Gena L, I had a feeling Jedi might have made it. I dig anything denim.

Hi Doug and Stacy. Where was this stuff when my kids were small haha. My great aunt had something like this on their farm. They were definitely off gridders. The only electricity in the house was the battery operated radio for the Grand Ole Opry. Great place to spend summers.
New to me, thanks so much for the valuable fun lesson. :)

Tiny House Big Music lambs ear is another great plant, for covering wounds, replacing toilet paper and a useful weed smothering companion plant. Highly recommended.

Awesome info Thanks for sharing.. I had to share.. :")
Oh...I'm getting one!
this is cracking me up - Stacy just keeps rubbing her teeth - it must feel pretty funky - gotta grow some here
This is a good nugget of advice. Thanks guys. I have found that clove bud oil works great for a toothache also, but cool to see that you can just go grab it right from the plant and use it. Thanks for sharing.
This is WAY BETTER than clove oil
Good to know. Thanks!
Great to know 👍🏻👍🏻
Wow! That was so interesting. Thank you so much for sharing. I wonder if it would be good for little ones for teething?
GREAT INFO
Love this!
I have been making our Homestead a Food Forrest for some time. Adding in edible herbs and madisanal crops. This is a deff! I do however need to research the Zone tolerance.
We get down to -40
I need to get this! My daughter has braces and this would come in handy. She won't let me give her clove oil anymore 😂 makes her salivate too much 😂
I love that skirt!
Good Video.....
Thanks for the tooth ache remedy information. I wonder if I planted it around some of the veggies the bugs like to devour, that they might try to chow down on this bull's eye foliage!
lol I ordered me some seeds I'm looking forward to mine blooming had some issues with them not wanting to grow not sure why but the last of the seeds that I planted are doing ok now they are 3 inches tall I'm hoping that they will make it I'm crossing my fingers.... looks like fun
Hi!! Show the plant more nearly so we can detecte better, blesses dear friend.
Very cool and Stacy I absolutely love your denim skirt
Here in Texas there's a native tree that has the same type of properties
Love that skirt! I need to make one now, lol 😆
I love all the knowledge you share with us. I've always used cloves or clove oil but it's great to have another option. Also, I have a broken tooth. Anytime I feel an abscess coming, I do a coconut pull and it goes away. I've heard that you can regrow your teeth naturally. Does anyone know how to do this or has anyone ever done it?
