Joe Cucan had Kane just right for Tiberian Dawn. Calm, softly spoken, precise. No over the top theatrics. Absolutely love this.
I still think he'd be great playing the role in a C&C based web series.
I always thought Kane was the biggest badass. In the mid 90s there was nothing more badass than a bald man with a goatie... like John Malkovich in _Con Air_ .
Or Stone Cold Steve Austin.
I love how you can clearly tell Seth's actor is literally just some dude who is working on the game.

The way Kane looks at the camera after saying “congratulations on your promotion” is just perfect.
Firstly, it immediately creates a rapport between the player and Kane with a little dark humour - he just shot his 2IC and now you’re it.
But it’s also full of menace because he’s also saying - “this is what happens if you fail me”.
I remember NoD campaign being hard as fuck. Good times

Renegade showed him being entombed by Kane in the Cairo temple and on display for all to see, likely as a message to anyone thinking they can usurp him as Seth tried to do.
Actually his corpse was preserved and put on display in a tube as a reminder of the consequences for betraying Kane lol.

Well considering his skull was mostly metal already at that point....
Kane was the man I wanted to be 'when I grew up'. He was clearly 'the villain' but he dressed sharply, was articulate & although serious, still made the occasional (dark) joke which I 'feel' really completes his character. Joe Kucan did a fantastic job, and of course Eric Gooch (Seth) did great as well.
19:20 If you follow the lore of C&C (the other games, books and comics). The correct choice is the Brandenburg Gate, because it's never mentioned again in the series and we see the other 3 standing in the lore
All NoD endings are non-canon though. NoD defently never canonically got its hands on the Ion Cannon.

All modern cults seem to lack the ability to generate their own wealth. But could some one like Kane arise in real life.
Kane had milleniums to build his powerbase. Its not impossible to think entire bloodlines and dynasties have pledged their allegience to Kane. Besides, he only needs his followers in specific places and times to further his goals. Long term ownership is just a bonus.
What I think is the reason the Brotherhood keeps losing in larger conflicts and the world stage is because it simply wasn't designed for such cumbersome task. Even the name Brotherhood is not one you'd tie in with a large political state.
I could I want to free all people with autism like me from oppression so people like me can be excepted as normal people do and get equal job opportunity. So yes I would be him in a away.

I wondered what would Pentagon mission look like if Kane didn't kill Seith at 9:01. Or that would be more interesting than Red Alert 2/C&C3 Pentagon demolition task if someone makes a mod.
I guess it would have failed, the mission was a way to get rid of the commander and assure his position at the top IMO.
Just imagine if the commander succeeded anyways. It would have likely angered Seth greatly, and impressed Kane even more. Seth would have likely just try to straight up kill the commander out of anger, only for Kane to kill Seth before he could try. Then the rest of the campaign, likely would have been different, due to the Pentagon's destruction.
@@starscream2.032 It would have done more than anger Seth... it was completely against Kane's plan. At this point in time, Kane's plan was to work from the shadows and discredit GDI rather than face them in a straight-up fight (like hacking the Ion Cannon and firing it upon one of their landmarks). Had the Pentagon been destroyed, Nod would be seen as the true aggressor and lose popular support. If the commander died trying to destroy the Pentagon, they could easily be written off as a rogue element.
@@WaterCrane On the topic of this, some of the later Nod missions seem counterintuitive to Kane's plans. The one's involving blowing uo villages with blatant Nod forces would ruin Kane's slander campaign for being too obvious. Plus, Nod relies on these regions for manpower.
To conclude, Seth was probably trying to make us look bad, but Kane caught on to his schemes much earlier. He probably just wanted to see if Seth could be redeemed, but pushing an attack on the Pentagon was where things went too far.
@@WaterCrane Never think of it that way, but you're right, it would've been bad for Nod's reputation :S I also think that it would've been a huge waste of resources, there's a difference between attacking an African country warlord and hitting the US Pentagon, I don't think Nod was even prepared for that, (not only with the suicide group that Seth gives you but in general), I don't think it was prepared enough to a full scale attack in that region till that Tiberium Wars mission.

@@DavidJBurbridge If I were 'that guy' formerly from Westwood and I had the raw tapes, I'd tell them they were lost in a merger or damaged beyond repair over time. EA deserves nothing but contempt and Westwood guys of all people know this. So yes, you are right. They prob didn't have a choice.

Having never played[only ever played/love TS] original C&C, it's tremendously weird hearing NODs AI be EVA not CABAL ;o....
Only watched this cos never wanted to play the game, although I still love TibSun it's only cos of the improvements over this ive seen on YT on occasion...Really fun watching Kane be Kane more than in Tiberian tho ;]
