- In 'Cadeaux at the Chateau', all of the inhabitants of the Chateau de Lalande gather together to open beautiful gifts that people have sent from all over the world. All of the monetisation from these videos will be donated to a different charity each month. CZcams earnings fluctuate wildly each month, as ad revenue changes throughout the year. Here are the charities that we've donated to so far:
July 2020:
British Heart Foundation UK (in memory of my father) €634

Alzheimer's Research UK (in memory of all of the residents of my parents' nursing homes) €350

Prostate Cancer Foundation (in memory of Selmar's father) €1255

I used to show the gifts as part of 'The Chateau Diaries' episodes, but you're all so very generous that we have many gifts, and if we spent the episodes opening them, we wouldn't be able to show you other aspects of chateau life! So, for those of you who enjoy watching presents being opened, and as a way to thank those of you who were kind enough to send them, I've made this new channel. Every week we will film your beautiful gifts whilst enjoying afternoon tea or aperitif together.
It is very important to me that you know that we in no way expect anyone to send us gifts. I would like to go further than that and add that, if doing so will put you in any financial difficulty whatsoever, please, please do not send us anything. Knowing that you join us by watching @The Chateau Diaries gives us all an enormous boost. But for those of you who have sent these incredibly thoughtful gifts, I hope that seeing us open them gives you a fraction of the joy that you've given us, and that by monetising this channel for charity we can pass on that joy to others 💖💖💖

That’s what’s so important about all of the foreigners buying up châteaux in France - so they don’t fall into disrepair and are lost forever. More important than the structures, is the history behind every château.

The LaLande gang are addicting. Ever light hearted and joyful. So important at this time when people's nerves are wearing thin.
I avoid all things political now & instead consume these & The Chateau Diaries to remind myself life goes on and joy is never out of season.

I haven't watched the news in 5 years...don't miss it. TV is limited to HGTV, a bit of the cooking channel and on rare occasion, a rerun of Sex in the City lol

I have to confess that I watch Cadeaux to see if I can garner ideas for my brothers and boy cousins. So far we have been very successful for birthdays and Christmas!💕💕

The "pizza cutter" is a fabric cutter, used over self healing mat. It can cut through multiple layers of fabric.

The bloopers! Loved them! Alice Allen is a wonderfully giving human being! She always knows just what you guys need. Can’t wait to watch Wendy’s! She is such an artist and inspired me to start my on miniature DIY. I am currently doing Sam’s study. Which is a companion piece to the Garden Tea miniature that you guys got. I am three videos behind. I am sitting down with a cup of tea and am going to Binge Watch them all. Ta! Ta! You lovely people.
I just found that brand of soap randomly donated to the thrift store. It smelled so good and was beautiful. I bought it and looked it up online. $10 a piece of soap!
Some times its worth it because you truly enjoy it many times a day. We choose the more expensive wonderful fragrance hand soap also because it didn't dry out our skin.
The box of threads would be a dream gift for me. Fabulous.

Kat's "Weeds are just flowers with a bad PR department!" got me ROFL!!!! Savonnière, savonnier, savonnerie - which is it? you all reminded me that I grew up in a family that did not have a centerpiece of lovely flowers down the middle of the table but a huge, 5 inch thick dictionary in the center. We each got to pick a word from it (which we thought no one else knew about) then the rest of the family had to guess the spelling and its definition.....beats arguments at dinner time. I truly enjoyed this vlog but it went by so fast!!! Stay safe and take care - all of you.

I love Kat's game "I like my tea, candle, candies..... " so much!! Good fun!! It reminds me of the game/book "Mad Libs". I don't know if it was English also (or first). It was a little book with paragraphs with words (verbs, nouns etc...) missing. One player would ask another for a verb (let's say), any verb. Finally, when the passage was completed it could be read to everyone. Usually, the results were hilarious!!!

T-shirts are nice, but now that I'm thinking about it, none of you are t-shirt wearers, so why not give the T-shirts to paying guests and part of a Thank you, come again package. In the meantime, you _do_ need a toque blanche, a jacket or an apron with the chateau logo. I think we don't see enough of the logo, not even at Christmas.
