... yeah or just hard-to pronounce names. I'm white and have a pretty common German (as in: white) name, but the amount of English-speaking folks who frequently butcher it, make fun of it or simply change it ... dude. But I get it, if it's a name you're not used to it seems odd, maybe funny, and sometimes hard to pronounce, I have that problem with Irish or a lot of Eastern European names for example (also white names.) So I don't think this is a racial issue here, it's just people generally having a tendency to make fun of names that seem unusual to them. But also maybe this works differently in the USA than here in Europe, I don't know. Here white people frequently have unusual names as well and get made fun of for them (which is fine as long as it's in good fun for everyone involved, but terrible when it turns to bullying, obviously!).

That man was the embodiment of a highly neurotic nervous wrack desperate for quick laughs with each moment needing to be more sensational than the other. Kimmel, for me, actually behaved as superior as he does on his own talk show, plus very so on point, clever, inventive, both charming and natural. I personally found that to be one of the best performances by any Oscar host of the 2000s, like we saw a revised old school style! Wow, you really can interpret a person's on-stage appearance entirely differently!

idk... There's a reason for that. I like Ricky, but he rubs a LOT of people in hollywood the wrong way. Somehow when he's hosting and tells an insulting joke about other artists, it actually just comes off as rude and mean rather than funny. He finds humor in too-low blows for an awards show, so having him host is risky. I heard his name came up a few years back, but he bombed another awards show with poor taste and the Oscars won't risk using him out of fear that some nominees would actually refuse to attend if he hosts.
